@jbjetairways Let me give you a quick review on the PW and RR engines.
PW4168s are DAMN LOUD and noisy, on takeoff and during reverse thrust. You don't want to get on them and sit in front of the engines. As for the Trent 700, I've been on the latest version (Trent 700EP) and it's VERY quiet. Spool-up is louder than full-power if you sit next to the engines. Reverse thrust nearly silent. RR's are technically the best engines for the A330 :-)
@Rucra1 I don't think it's louder than the PW. Honestly I don't know why these PWs are in service. CF6s are the most powerful engines for the A330, but not the best (technically). So I would go with RRs :)
helicopters have rotors. They spin round REALLY fast...this is the same concept as an aircraft with the exception of it hurtling down a runway at 145 mph. The rotors create lift for the the 'copters, its different to an aircraft as the engines provide the power to generate the lift.
Last Sunday, my flight MH68 was beside this same plane. MH68 too was an Airbus a330-300. Actually MH2616 Boeing 737-400 but it was canceled into the MH68. How happy was I but when I was on the plane. They asked us to go to the far gate C14. That was when I saw the Emirates A330-300 beside our plane
Yey im soo happy. I will b goin to pakistan via doha in qatar airways i have always traveld in emirates first time in qatar looking forward to it nways gud video
At 2:44 the landing gear is retracted and the EXIT signs extinguished. In most Airbus aircraft, you hear a sound at this time. The same comes when the gear is lowered for landing. At 4:41 its the crew-call sound, either the pilots are calling the cabin crew or the flight attendants are calling each other.
Thanks for reply phr002, however how do you know the landing gear had retracted?. You cant see from this video. Also why have the same sounds for this as for the cabin crew?. Thanks again.
As soon as the landing gear is not in its "locked down" position anymore, the EXIT signs throughout the cabin are turned off, this is coupled with that sound and is a caracteristic on all Airbus. It means the gear is either in intermediate position or retracted. Just look at some other Airbus take-off videos and you'll hear the same in most of them. The other sound is different, its in fact a double-chime, listen carefully. Hope this helps you.
At 2:44 the call sound is from cockpit for cabin crew indicating that take off is ok. This is an Airbus rule. Three call sounds indicates emergency and cabin evacuation.
that's a long flight! I'm going on Qatar Airways to Doha then onto Colombo in a few weeks time. LDN to Doha will be the A340 but then Doha to CMB will be an A330 and of course am a bit nervous knowing that the Air France aircraft that went down was an A330 too...
im flying from vancover to dusseldorf on a330, i dont want to start a debate, but i noticed airbus (especially the a380) aircraft are generaly quieter than boeing to fly on.
are you sure this is a a330? because the engine looks a like thee engines on their b777 planes. also the sound of the engine sounds like a b777 engine.
why would you want to determine the model by the looks of the engine? both B777 and A330 use GE, PW and RR trent engines that might even look the same from outside...
was that A330-200 or A330-300?

@EmadIV but everybody says that this GE CF6 is the louder engine for the a330... is this true? And i agree with u... PW are very loud

@thezapata80 Hello there! I do prefer the A340 really :) I think the A340 is quieter ;)

why does airplane needs speed to take off?
Bryaninlove2008 2 years ago
without speed there would be no air flow over the wings and therfore there would be no airlift produced to pick the plane of the ground
kazim786 2 years ago
@kazim786 hey how about helicopters? they dont need speed for take off
