From Auburn to Weimar to Sunnyvale I have never seen the spirit of God ever move in a Seventh Day Adventist Church. I have however personally experienced instant healing several times in the so called praise and worship which is sensationalism. You can't define where God is unless your God. God enhabits the praises of his people. So who are you to determine what God likes or dislikes? By your cult standards King David would have been a sinner.
Embrace Grace was the first GC Conference I went to, and it totally changed my life. I was able to lay things down and really accept and grab hold of the grace that God has for me. God spoke and moved and touched hearts. I know that personally when I went back home from this, my whole lifestyle was changed, and I began to seek after God even more. Then at the Found GC Conference, I was just in awe of God all over again!! I love these conferences and I will keep going!!! Might be an intern ;)
The Holy spirit is not amidst these people. It is based on sensationalism, emotionalism, and body-motions. Bands and Drums are not in heaven, and are not to be employed in Christian music. Heaven is not filled with a bedlam of noise. The swaying of the hands, the "feelings", the "sentimentalism"....none of this means anything if there is no reformation the character. All those people break God's commandments, especially the 4th commandment. This is called "cheap grace".
@Lysimachus78 A lot of it does have to do with the emotions and the mania and the delirium of it all, but that doesn't mean God still can't work through it. It is appalling however to see the same people go through the same mannerisms, the same rituals, at these hyped-up conferences and events every year and go back home and live life as if nothing has changed. That is when you must go back and re-evaluate your Christian lives, friends.
cause it changed my life. and the Holy spirit was amidst us.
and just so you know. the whole conference was not noise like that, that was just during the worship service which wasn't just a bunch of us reading out of a hymn book, who are you to judge? were you there? nope, you weren't.
I am not judging. If I see a purple truck go by, & I point out at it & say "look, a purple truck!", am I judging the truck? Of course not, the truck is purple, & I'm conveying exactly what I see. From experience, I have seen that in most of these concerts, people get a "spiritual high", based on "emotionalism". But does it transform into obedience?
Keeping God's 10 commandments (ALL 10 that is), being holy and moving forward? Do they obey the 4th commandment in the Spirit & in love?
i completely agree, all i'm saying is that attending a conference like this is not a bad thing, and it was actually very life changing for me. that's all
@Lysimachus78 The 10 Commandments and all the laws were fulfilled by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Romans 8:1-2. When you look at a purple truck you judge the color and based on fact of physics determine that it is purple. You can't determine that anyone is or is not doing the will of God or is right with God that is a judgement that is only for Jesus Christ to make. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus and all law is fulfilled. We are now living under grace not law.
@Lysimachus78 Seriously? where does all the music come from in Heaven if there is no band? Read the bible you will be amazed at how wrong your statements are. God created everything to glorify him. Including bands in the bible musical instruments and music. The evidence of this is that God is the only creative being in the universe by his own words and therefore anything that man creates came from God to glorify God. The 10 commandements have no authority in the age of grace. Read your bible.
I would appreciate if you would not tell me to read my Bible, when I do read my Bible, and my Bible tells me that the Ten Commandments are necessary for GRACE to exist. How dare you have the nerve, and the audacity, to nail the Ten Commandments to stone when Psalms 111 is clear that ALL of God's commandments stand fast "for EVER and EVER and are DONE in truth and uprightness". Christ said "till heaven and earth pass not ONE iota will pass from the law" (Matthew 5:17-10).
@Lysimachus78 Since your a Seventh Day Adventist you should understand how translation comes into play. Since the word of God is not errant what you believe and what jesus said is in conflict. The simple reason being is translation and corruption from King James and others. You don't have the first clue about grace. We are creatures born into a spiritually dead sin nature. By salvation from the grace of Christ Jesus we are spiritually alive. We are redeemed from the law of sin and death.
Redemption from the law, my friend, has absolutely nothing to do with freeing you from its binding nature. Being redeemed from the law means to be redeemed by its CURSE. How so? From it's condemning power! Why so? Because by God's Grace, we are now able to live up according to His requirements (laws) through the strength and power that is imputed to us. We are LIBERATED from the shackles of sin, as the Law is what defines sin. Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4)
@Lysimachus78 Well that's a nice theory but if you take the entire gospel of Christ you would find a very different conclusion. You can't do this however because your doctrine is full of religion, dogma, and law. I know I was a part of that religion and the bible is very clear in regards to the judgemental, religious, and who their father is. He also said don't argue about doctrine but agree on him. Your far too concerned with your laws to care what Jesus said about this very subject.
@Lysimachus78 This is totally false but nobody will convince you of that. You are preaching the laws of man against the word of God himself. So I am not concerned with your Ocult Ideology.
I was raised a seventh day adventist. I know full well what they believe. I know their ideology and the flaws in their ideology which allow for Branch Davidian's to convince hundreds of people to believe anything. Sorry but what you believe is flawed doctrine. You have exhibited your heart in your posts judging others for praising God. You may want to read a little more about praise because you don't determine what is praise and what is sensationalism. God demands glory and praise.
We 7th-Day Adventists do not put up dirty cheap Grace, where you think Grace is a license to break the Ten Commandments. Grace gives you license to KILL? SteaL? Commit adultery? Dishonor your parents now? REALLLY now? What a WARPED concept of Grace you have my friend. You need to wake up, because you are in BABYLON! You need to come out, and I mean come out now. You will be lost if you do not change. Your warped version of cheap grace will not save you in that day of judgment.
@Lysimachus78 Nobody has even broken the ten commandments. Even if they pertained to all of man which they don't. They are good moral values to keep but Jesus died on the cross and ALL SIN was forgiven. Not just the sin that you think should be forgiven. It's not up to you. Your doctrine is full of judgment and condemnation. Yet Jesus said the only doctrine and law was Love God and Love thy Neighbor. You are doing neither.
I sense here that ur real problem is not with the other 9 comm. It is that 4th comm.that says "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy" that you have a problem with. If it wasn't for that command, I can bet your bottom dollar that you would not be teaching they were done away with. But it is your hatred for the Sabbath that you speak in such poisonous language.
@Lysimachus78 Funny how the religion of man made you think I had a problem with the sabbath. Although Jesus had quite a lot to say on the subject which you would disagree with. However my problem is not with any commandments. My problem is with your argument. The Torah and the law was not even written for the Gentiles. It was written for the Jews. The law you speak of makes this clear as does Jesus. The Jews are the keepers of the law. Most jewish doctrine was refuted by Jesus himself.
Are we not Jews? You are a Jew, I am a Jew. Isaiah 41:8 tells us that Israel is "the seed of Abraham". Gal 3:29 says that if we are Christ's, then "we are Abraham's seed" and "heirs according to the promise". Gal 4:28 says "as Isaac was", we ARE the "children of promise". Romans 2:27-29 states that those who have been circumcised of the heart are "a Jew, which is one inwardly". Isaiah 56 tells us that the Sabbath was made for the "strangers" (see also Mark 2:27).
@Lysimachus78 We are Gentiles adopted as Jews. By the time that scripture was written Jesus had already corrected the mistranslation and ignorance of the laws. You can quote what ever you like. I am not going to bother arguing with you. I have studied the entire bible and specifically the purpose of the law which never pertained to the Gentiles. Gentiles did not have the abrahamic covenant. We are under the Convenant of Christ. A very different convenant. So all abrahamic law is not ours.
The problem is, you are reading the scriptures using Dispensational Futurist lenses. I am an Adventist Historicist Premillennialist. I am writing a book entitled "Vindicating the Historicist Hermeneutic". I've been debating some of the most learned Dispensational authors now for several years. A good website I recommend is HearingTheTruth . org. Listen to the audio shows. You really need to deal with our solid arguments if you are going to be honest with yourself brother.
@Lysimachus78 The problem is I am reading the bible without the lens of religion. I spent the first ten years of my Christian life without religion, no mentors, Just the holly spirit and the bible. I would deal with your solid arguments if they were solid. However they're flawed and lacking the total word of God. They are full of opinion and bias. You promote doctrine and argue it. I promote Jesus Christ and the Holly Spirit. Love God, Love thy Neighbor. All that matters according to Jesus.
@Lysimachus78 To be honest they are so flawed and so unfounded I won't even bother to argue them with you even on an intellectual level. You must first be intellectually honest with yourself in order for that to be a fruitful venture. I always find it amusing when a cult member trashes a church they have never been to on the basis that it's not moving in spirit. Having been in your cult and currently going to a church like this I can tell you God is moving spiritually far more than your cult.
@Lysimachus78 The good news is your salvation comes from Jesus Christ and not the Ten Commandments. Since your cult believes in Jesus Christ as their lord and savior your entire argument is covered by the grace of God. Therefore I don't really care about your argument except to encourage you to abandon man's religion and seek the face of God as Generation Church has done. Glory is God's and God's alone and it demands the best praise you can provide. GC has done just that.
(cont.) Well I've got news. I've got GIGANTIC NEWS. According to Luke 23:56, resting on the Sabbath was "ACCORDING" to the commandment AFTER the New Cov. was ratified on the cross on Friday. And you cannot add or take away from a covenant after the covenant is in effect according to Gal. 3:15. Hebrews 4 also establishes that the Seventh-Day Sabbath is a symbol of our eternal rest in Christ. We celebrate that eternal rest in Sabbath keeping, just like Baptism celebrates our rebirth experience.
@Lysimachus78 Again God over rules man and your interpretation is lacking context. What 's even more funny is that Saturday is only the sabbath in our calendar so your entire life you have broken the laws of your church.
From Auburn to Weimar to Sunnyvale I have never seen the spirit of God ever move in a Seventh Day Adventist Church.
