  • Thanks for uploading. I used to know windows XP services like the back of my hand but vista's services are very different.

  • thanks a lot!!

  • Hey guys used this for windows Vista but would love to find a .bat file but for windows 7? Did they make one for windows 7?

  • youtube [dot] com/watch?v=Ewp6Zhh7dvM

7 Easy Steps to greatly improve the speed of your computer, for Windows XP and Vista.

  • thank you man im not that great with computers this helps alot my friend set me this vidomfg i didnt know half this thanks again

  • Nice - I just added a video response of a utility I am almost done coding. It works for XP, Vista and Win7 and allows you to quickly manage services and save \load profiles. It should be finished soon, happy tweaking.

  • Thanks a lot i'm going to try this.Maybe my vista will be faster so i can run my games better.

  • love your accent dude...you rock!

  • is there an equivalent to this for xp?

  • LOL

  • How much ram do you have?

  • I have 2GB but Vista uses like 40% of it.

  • Windows Vista automatically uses your RAM for caching. Unused RAM is wasted ram, it's completely normal.

Vista uses around 20% of my 8GB of Ram most of the time.

  • holy crap, after i stoped alot of my startup programs i now only use about 4% to 15% at a time, and with my amd fusion it takes it down to 4% to 6% avg, and i only have 3GB of ram. Your computer if extremely inefficient.

  • Vista uses the RAM for cacheing. It's not exactly like i'm going to run out of RAM anyway ;)

  • Thanks for this video! I have massive amounts of RAM on my Sony Vaio CS, so I don't need to use this service ... But I'm going to keep this in mind for friends/family who might need it. :)

  • I use Windows 7 and its much better than Vista now. It works with everything, and I have never had any problems with it. Visa was just an epic failure and I'm glad Microsoft put an end to it. Windows 7 rocks!

  • How much was it? kinda suck if its 100+ dont have like £100 + to spend on one.

  • I downloaded it from rapidshare, few friends downloaded it from torrents. I'm not a torrent fan..but I got product keys for both 32bit and 64bit if you guys need them for Windows 7. Its not bad, but I have a feeling I'll be moving back to Linux again.

  • Can you do a video on this same thing but with xp pro. Because its seem slower than before

  • never mind

  • i have windows vista but i cant get aero scheme to work i have a stock 96mb graphics card i'm thinking thats the issue

    pentium 4 duo

    1.49 GB ram

    250 GB HD

    please help

  • your videos are great!! Awesome job i have learned alot from your site. Thanks!!

  • oh yeah BTW...thanks for the video.

  • I use Vista and I love it.

  • yep vista is the best operating system I have ultimate 64 bit :)

  • Thanks for the info! I'm gunna try running the Safe registry tweak

  • how do u download the reg for default vista basic home?

  • How the hell is it unfair.

I don't hear Mac, or Linux users complaining.

XP is nearly 8 years old now, people need to move on.

People clench to XP because they know it and believe all the negative comments they hear about Vista.

Maybe you should start using it and you'll realise it's actually quite simple, and in a lot of cases even more user friendly than XP.

If people want things to get better, support Vista. The more demand there is for Vista the more Microsoft will support it.

  • I can't afford vista.

I don't want to spend money for an operating system that i don't really need.

  • I'm with ljscott

This video isn't just for you hyunchoi98 and as you're not paying mobilephone2003 you aren't his boss.

Maybe if you donate/pay him to make an xp video he would.

As an ubuntu user I still watched it just out of interest.

  • Than you for showing support. People are bashing me now saying I'm a dickhead that can't use XP. Even though I've used it for ages. I'm just saying people shouldn't whinge about mobilephone2003's videos. He is just trying to be helpful and people have a cry because the video is about Vista not XP.

  • Hey lj there is nothing wrong with XP. Vista is for b****s like you who dont think there smart enough for f***ing XP so you run to Windows Vista.

  • Well just for your information fuckhead I actually dual boot, and I have XP Pro on my computer. Guess what dumbass, I have been using up until a few months ago as well.

But you didn't ever hear me whinging about when people start talking about vista.

To put it quite plainly most administrative tasks are easier on XP, so you clearly are a dumb shit.

You also say there is nothing wrong with XP. Yeah have you ever looked at the problems people have with it, there are probably more than vista/

  • Just also like to say you are probably just one of these fags that whinges about Vista because of what you see on commercials or what you hear others say about Vista.

If you have actually used it, which I doubt, you'd find that it really isn't that different from XP. The majority of changes are just where things are located and some extra graphical effects.

You say I'm dumb yet you're the one that can't keep up with a new operating system.

So all in all get a fuckin life and stop bitching cunt.

  • Windows Vista will never be user friendly..have you ever tried installing video games or printers? How about plugging in a new usb flash drive? Don't you get annoyed by the Run as Administrator? Vista says it isn't compatiable when you install some software and when you search online, theres nothing to support it. That's why I'm using Windows XP and Linux on multiboot. I've used Vista for a year and I am very unhappy with its performance and stability.

  • Yeah my old printer does not work with Vista. However, I am not troubled by this.

I can either A: print stuff off in XP, or B: get a new printer. I'm actually looking for one at the moment. Afterall I've had the thing for 6 years.

And you can turn off run as administrator.

To turn off UAC go to contol panel > security > security center > other security settings and turn off UAC.

As for performance XP is old and requires low specs for it to perform. Vista is new, so it requires higher specs.

  • @H4x0r18: Puh-lease, I've installed a printer, scanner, USB drive, and I easily disabled the User Account Control notifications via the Control Panel.

I don't understand why people say they have so many massive problems with Vista ... The only thing I can think of is they simply don't know how to use it properly! ;)

  • Amen!

  • nice video very useful!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • that was great

  • Nice video mate, i will install vista again tomorrow when i get my new hard drive and will be definitely using this, once again, thanks.

  • how do you get the back and forth buttons to go square

  • Quite a nice little tip! I appreciate all your tips!

I uninstalled Vista & put XP back on. This will be quite helpful when I'm eventually forced to use Vista.

  • and just to add, after running the default file, i got my theme and smoe things back, but the scroll wheel of my laptop and internet connection both did not work

  • This download has messed up several things on my laptop

  • I told you that you could revert back and i recommended downloading the default settings

  • I know, i saved both files to a thumb drive, ran the tweaked one, and noticed my IE didnt work, my scroll wheel didnt work, my theme was converted back to the classic Window theme, and it deleted my vista theme.

I had to system restore back a couple days to get every thing working again

  • OMG thank you very much it really really does helps alot!

  • Great video! Wow, I watched even though I don't have Vista! ;-) By the way, I've always seen you on XP except for in virtual machines - have you upgraded to Vista permanently now? (i'm not gonna complain or anything if you have, I'm just interested. :-))

  • thx dude nice video

  • great video.... again. that was very helpfull my computer has been running quit slow since i have got vista when i had xp it ran much faster but this program has sped it up much faster. thanks mate you are legandery

  • Hey Duncan,

What theme are you using? I like slim themes, which is what you seem to have, but I cannot seem to find any. Great video by the way!

  • Transblack is the name of mine

  • Alright, thanks a lot.

  • ...than a Windows install in the case of a system error.

  • I'm sorry I couldn't resist. It's just that since moving to Ubuntu from Vista, I haven't had to do any service tweaking. All I have done is install some drivers for my WiFi dongle, which I could of done through the GUI but chose to do through the CLI, because it is faster, and rearranged the panels a bit, installed Flash and Java support, which you have to do in ALL OS's and as it is Linux, I have my /home directory on a different partition to the root of the filesystem. So it'll be safer...

  • Linux.

  • excellent video, great website thanks for the info

  • this shud help

  • Good vid, but whats up with the quality?

  • If you ad &fmt=18 to the end of the URL it will be better

  • Thanks much better but why isnt there a "Watch in High Quality" link, like most other videos.

  • Well i don't really know :D

But it works on most videos it's strange they don't put the option on more videos :P

  • thanks alot dude keep ur great videos

  • Thanks for the help:)

Keep up the great video making, you inspire may.

  • Thanks ,I will have vista quite soon ,but my computer will be powerful enough to run it.

But still i will probably won't use all of those services so I might as well disable them.

    Thanks again :)

  • I bought my vista computer without this stuff, there was an option at bestbuy to get the GeekSquad tweaked one or a normal one, so thanx but no thanx...

    nice vid to ^^

  • I personally run OS X Tiger and Windows XP on this machine, but I have some friends online that may benefit from this. =D

  • Another great vid as always

  • I Switched to Mac.

  • vista kicks ass, and now thanks to this guide it kicks even more ass, thanks

  • I always get those stupid "Not Responding" messages!

  • Vista repeatedly, daily, multiple times cut me off, choked, blue screened so bad I could not use my Computer in peace and it was a new Dell which came with Vista.I had Windows XP Pro installed.Runs like butter, never once have I had trouble.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Finnaly a vid..I was starting to think you said goodbye to youtube :)). Great vid anyway

  • my brother could use this info :) xp ftw ;)

  • To speed up my vista, I run CCleaner every month or so to check if theres any registry keys that lead to nowhere. I've also disabled the less important software that starts on boot, like Media Manager Devices, this media card extender thing that always pops up when the Xbox connects to Xbox Live and 4oD.

Nice new layout too. I see the yellow square is missing :P Looks sort of like the old Southeastern Trains logo.
