I live in Moscow and I wanna say Russia is such huge country with lots of wicked scary places like that in the movie. Dark villages and witch-like old women... Ah fuck, I'd never come to such scary place as this one! If you want to feel all of this guys, you should read Bram Stoker's short novels and at least a beginning of Dracula. It's about Romania but it's almost the same creepy feeling.

I just saw this movie last night. Man it effin sucked. I almost walked out after the first 30 minutes cuz I was falling asleep !! and this was rated favorite horrorfest film?! Probably just released to make up the lost money >_< Did I mention it sucks? XD

Nacho Cerda's The Abandoned is an incredible horror film, thanks in part to Xavi Giménez' cinematography (The Machinist)and David Kristian's haunting dark electronic score (Sisters). It's not perfect, but it's better than most ghost story movies I've seen of late.
