I have been trying to identify what it is that Sheryn is not doing right. Something does not sound right. The words sound kind of "malabsak" or sliding out of her mouth. Charice sounds most pleasing as she pronounces her words more wholesomely or correctly. That is why Charice is successfull in her venture in the USA.

Not accounting for diction and enunciation of the words, I'm going to say that Sheryn performed this better because her voice is more mature and developed, so it suits the song better. Charice's voice, at this point, didn't quite have that "oomph" yet, so she couldn't give the song what it needed. But they are both excellent singers. Love those Asian Songbirds!
since this was both a contest piece then both were amateurs then, ruling out their ages.charices' rendition was great but pitchy at points where her diaphragm should have been supporting her and her falsetto was not that good, then. but hear her now even her whistle sounds superb. on the otherhand, sheryn was better in here some minor lapses like in enunciating the words and she took on the song by force, too forced that it sounded amateurish-ish but both did it that way!!!

masmaganda ang performance ni sheryn kaya lang something with the way that charice sings it. In all the versions and to all the singers that I have listened to sing this song I find two basic faults: there exists great difference between the chest voice and yhe head voice and they shout the high notes. I'm sure this clip was Intentionally made (fixed) to somehow show that Sheryn was better than Charice. To show how ridiculous this comparison is the uploader compared a 12 tear old amateur Charice with an adult full fledged Pro Sheryn. Well if that was your intention you I say you Failed miserably coz Charice is and always will be Number 1.

Tama ka wala ngang change si Sheryn dahil dahil walang asenso sa career niya. At anong sinsabi mong may attitude problem si Charice? Asan ang ebidensiya mo? Sa status niya at acheivements hindi niya na kailangan magyabang. Yun mga mayayabang lang ay yung mga trying hard na kulelat. I think they are both good singers and technicians. Comparing voices between an innocent child and a matured womans voice is meaningless. Sheryn is13 yrs. older while Charice being only 12 yrs old then when she sang the song is considered unique having this kind of voice and technique. And the question, who has the charisma to attract international audience. This is where the comparison stop. Charice wins by mile and she is not even starting yet.

Charice has a very smooth sailing technique in this particular song. The singer becomes the song and the song becomes the singer.
The other girl sings too hard, and not consistent.
They shouldn't even be compared. Charice is way way up in a different league! And take note, she's only 12 yrs old then. At this moment, she's 17 yrs old and at that age, she's sang with the heavy weights of the music industry (andrea bocelli, celine dion, josh groban, etc). Her voice is goddess!

sheryn's better, of course. obvious naman sa marunong makinig. they're not compared kung sino ang mas famous. it's they're performances na pinagkukumpara. sa videos, mas malinis yung performance ni sheryn. yung high notes kasi ni charice, parang hindi pa stable at that time na kinanta niya ito.

in terms of soul or emotion, charice wins.
but technically speaking, sheryn's rendition is far better than Charice's. The projection, resonance and stage projection are just amazing.

In all the versions and to all the singers that I have listened to sing this song I find two basic faults: there exists great difference between the chest voice and yhe head voice and they shout the high notes. Listen to the version of whitney as the change it is almost imperceptible and with the same force. Houston can sing this song live like no one alse . The best ever

Just 12, That's why Charice was feared by other singing contestants during her amateur years cuz she was so small and young but always end up the winner of those contests. Here, Sherryn is in her 20's and already a professional singer with multiple albums but in my opinion Charice blow her away!!! Ayaw mo ug kasuko kay Bisdak ako. Lupig lang gyud si Sherryn ni Charice. sheryns version is like pilita corales as in pilit and oldy style. unlike charice its so natural and u can feel it. u cant compare to sheryn, the diction is way better than sheryn. bisayang bisaya si sheryn. so no way na mas maganda ang pagkakakanta nya...

Charice focuses on adding emotion, the high notes are good but not that polished, while Sheryn really focuses on high notes, her rendition is very powerful, finesse and she has better projection on this song. They're both good tho
