Tyson was still a great fighter in 97 but bottled out of a match up. This is fact not fiction. Prime time both Lewis wins by KO everytime as Tysons style is tailor made for Lewis.

So many excuses are made for Tyson...if but maybe. He was a great street fighter. He always struggled against big mobile heavies (the average Tony Tucker for example). Tyson was out of prison in 1995 yet spent the next 7 years avoiding Lewis. Tyson absolute prime was 87-91, Lewis absolute prime 92-98. Tyson was still a great fighter in 97 but bottled out of a match up. This is fact not fiction. Prime time both Lewis wins by KO everytime as Tysons style is tailor made for Lewis.

Lewis also performed better against classy Holyfield. The heavyweights of that era including Bowe were head & shoulders above the current lot that is for sure.

If Tyson was in his prime it would have been a more entertaining fight instead of Tyson just standing there & taking shots.

In the first round of their fight Mike was able to get to Lewis on a couple occasions and at one point even staggered Lewis a bit with a jab. Probably more a balance thing than anything, but that was from a severely washed up Tyson. Imagine Tyson in his prime with that great defense and explosive combos. Tough to call, but with Tyson's speed, power, defense, combos, I think Tyson wins.
