Later incarnations did, but the first-ever Megatron's alt-mode was a gun; specifically, a Walther P-38 pistol.

Of course, nowadays, no toy gun can look too real, and no matter what else it looks like, it HAS to have an orange cap on the end of the barrel. Stupid government regulations, taking glory away from Megatron...

The original die cast Megatron was heavy and felt and looked like a real gun when it came out. I remember a bike cop shot a kid who was waving one a round back in the day. Anyone old enough will remember that they made him orange and black for a short time. Then they just stopped making it.

got mine yesterday i reccomend him, but hes tough to transform the instructions are in Japanese too that doesnt help, i watched some of the videos that people have put on you tube and that got me through it, he looks so cool though in both modes you can easily forgive him for his difficulty level when you look at him, this really is the ultimate Transformer figure.
