  • RIP Gus :'(

  • this was first shown in 1989, but some reason, I remember seeing in 1991 on cbs. guess I'm getting old.

  • The thing I remember most about Lonesome Dove Is that Robert Duvall did not get the Emmy for best actor. It went to James Woods for My name is Steven, Jesus, giv e me as break. Well, time has proven, that this is a performance for the ages, and who remembers that steven bullshit.

  • Optimus Prime is the only character ever that could introduce this movie.

  • Hey could someone PLEASE upload the "It ain't dying I'm talking about! It's living!" conversation between Gus and Woodrow? It is the part where the two are talking about the quote written in latin on the trail wagon. I've looked for it for a long time and still can't find it.

  • What has happened to CBS? This used to be CBS! Now it is a complete pile of crap station

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!

  • newt is so adorable :D

  • wow 7 emys!!

  • Uno de los mejores, sino el mejor film sobre los hitos de la conquista del oeste norteamericano. R:Duval: un grande . tenemos la suerte de tenerlo residiendo en Argentina. Lo entrevistamos en Observatorioia con gran placer.

  • this is a very good preview

  • greatest thing to happen in western movie history.

  • yes........without a doubt.

  • You can't do better than Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones in this movie. And Diane Lane's Lori was heartbreaking and beautiful. One of the best there is...a great story and a wonderful cast as well.

  • greatest

i love going back to this movie

  • Not just the greatest western film ever, but one of the greatest novels I've ever read. McMurtry's writing is tragically beautiful and true to human emotion. The characters are some of the best ever, and he's not afraid to kill them off.

  • 100% right

  • Love the video clip. I grew up to this lifestyle and lived by it. Out in the wilds of Nebraska. Love it love it love it!!!

  • It was great. It had a great cast, a great storyline, and I loved the theme music.

  • oh i know, the music makes me cry. if you've ever watched RETURN TO LONESOME DOVE the opening title is even more heartbreaking.

  • @markmeetsworld Never heard of it. Was it a miniseries as well, or a regular series. I'd really like to know what I am missing.

  • It was a four-night miniseries that drew HUGE ratings for cbs. everybody fell in love with it and it even made the list of all time best miniseries.

  • The greatest western ever made!!!
