You can't do better than Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones in this movie. And Diane Lane's Lori was heartbreaking and beautiful. One of the best there is...a great story and a wonderful cast as well.

Not just the greatest western film ever, but one of the greatest novels I've ever read. McMurtry's writing is tragically beautiful and true to human emotion. The characters are some of the best ever, and he's not afraid to kill them off.
