Ah, the Hawks first playoff game. I was at my future in-laws, prepping for a wedding on this Christmas Eve. I stayed home to watch instead of going to the family's traditional church service. I was asked to spend that night, Christmas Eve, at a hotel for that afront. It was TOTALLY worth it!

IMO. I would add in the 1980s Browns to your description as well. The interception, the drive, the fumble, and an additional AFC championship loss in 1989.

The 83 Seahawks weren't a great team, but I believe that their win over Miami wasn't that big of an upset. The Dolphins weren't that great.

LMAO...the Seahawks were the best not to go to a Super Bowl huh? Better than the Chargers of the same era that went to TWO AFC Championships and won arguably the best game of all time? Or the Rams of the early to mid 70s? Wow...that's a helluva stretch

You forgot to mention the 70's Vikings in your description. And tbh although the Seahawks in the 80's had some good teams, I don't think you can say that they are the teams not to go to a SuperBowl. I think teams like the 86 Browns, and the 98 Vikings are better.

And yes, that four year stretch from 1983-1986 saw a scary-good Seahawk team. Especially 1984, when the Dolphins stood in the way, and 1983, when they came so close to the SB but couldn't beat the Raiders a third time that year.
