just wanna put my two cents in on the pepper sublime thing. they're two totally different bands. sublime has no songs that sound like this. pepper has no songs that sound like anything sublime put out back in the 90s. sublime is my favorite band of all time, pepper isn't on the list. however, pepper is the one of the only other post 89 american reggae bands that make me feel the same way sublime did when i heard them (along with ballyhoo and long beach dub allstars).nonetheless two awesome bands

sublime was not great, they were a mediocre band that fused lots of island elements of music with mainstream, they weren't a great or talented band they just had superb timing when they came out. Pepper is a great band with some talent singing music that natural to them since they are from the islands, if situations were reversed and pepper came out the time sublime did i guarentee you'd be raving about the greatest ska ish type band ever
I see what you are saying - I do believe that if Pepper came first we'd be hailing them as the greats. But really, Sublime was the first to do it, they were the fathers, and they forever are enshrined as such. Secondly, don't get it twisted - Brad had a pretty good voice, I'd say as good as both of Pepper's guys. Thirdly, Brad was a much better guitarist than this band has shown me.

i feel that they try to copy the sound and style of sublime. i mean thats just my opinion. and no they couldnt be sublime, or the next best thing, if they wanted to. they could be a cover band, like badfish, at best.

Do you even listen to Sublime or Pepper? They obviously sound better than Badifhs and Pepper could easily be the next Sublime. I'm not saying they will or are. But they sound voice wise closer to Sublime than anyone I've heard yet.

clearly i listen to sublime and pepper or i wouldnt be commenting. and obviously they sound similar, its the same style and pepper was with out a doubt influenced by sublime . but they couldnt be the next sublime because theres more to a band than what the vocals sound like and the overall sound of sublime just has something fresh, raw, and loose that gives it that original sound i think pepper is missing. not saying they are bad they just dont have the same soul as sublime.
