I love that -"I'm very self reliant - my mother told me to always be that way." Totally groundbreaking for 30's when women were taught to rely on men, that they must get married to have someone to take care of them, etc. Shirley really spurred self confidence in girls! :)

It seems like in all her movies she is seen as perfect by everyone. Even though she was practically perfect in every way in reality, I would like to see if she could act mean and be a 'bad guy' for once. But maybe she's just too cute...

I was shocked to find out that Gloria Stuart died just two days ago :( The last time I checked she was celebrating her 100th birthday, and now she's dead. RIP.

Yes, the amazing thing is that in the movie "Titanic" she died on September 26 at 100 years old, and in real life she died on September 26, 2010 at 100 years old!

This is such a great overture- such great music in this movie! I love how it goes straight into Phyllis Brooks singing. Her and Jack Haley in their supporting roles are great!

This is my favorite Shirley Temple movie! It's not even close to the story line from Kate Douglas Wiggins' book (which is one of my favorite childhood books), but they did a great enough job with their own twist that I don't mind =]
