We all have room to become more aware of our patterns of behavior and growth. I get that embodiment changes one's orientation, disposition and approach to social interactions. What i hear is that both parties, in this conversation, could gain further benefits from more embodiment work. One individual has an impatient, pressured, tense pattern in her speech, which makes me feel restless & uncomfortable. The other has a more jovial pattern of interrupting and talking over people.
@geezloueeze "We all have room to become more aware of our patterns of behavior and growth. I get that embodiment changes one's ........l pattern of interrupting and talking over people."
I really like your insights here. What would embodiment work do to help the person suffering from being talked over?
@curtmaly thanx for leaving the comment because I am not too sure the video is understood.....can you tell me what you liked about it? I adore the Alexander Technique and think its potential is huge if explored and thus I tried to show the relationship between personal and social bodies as operating under similar principles.
Hi, I'm at 6:30 so far and am kind of confused, as far as the talkers not discussing the technique in the video, so not sure if it's a mistake or I don'get it?
@paulagloria blah blah blah bullshit. Things that were good and genuine in my life always felt so obvious and natural (even if very challenging to my usual ways). And this is very much the case with Alexander Technique, wihich is its essence simply brilliant. BUT at the same time I often hear people working SO HARD to sound relaxed (in a smug and silly way), deep and artistic about it and it can be so irritating when I'm having a bad day. It's a load of crap, I don't buy it.
@probablyjustme77 what don't you buy? The relationship between changing social patterns in the same way we change our physical personal body's carriage?
@paulagloria not at all, I have experienced and I am experiencing that effect in my life so I've got no reason to doubt it. It's the "artistic interpretation" part that I don't buy. I may be a little on the dark side today or I'm simply more "cut to the cheese" minded sort of person but I find it hard to digest half and hour of talking with very little sense to it. Second part is better.
@paulagloria can't really say practitioner, rather an enthusiast. I do find bits and pieces of AT very useful and fascinating but at the same time I often struggle to find information and practical advice in the web. I should probably stick to individual lessons and F.M. Alexander's books...
@brian777999...sorry about that, I can hear it fine although not as loud as the others..it is sort of an "inside" piece relevant to Manhattan Neighborhood Network viewers as Harold channer is the longest standing Public acess TV producer who is notorious for interrupting his guests. this was an attempt to heal and understnd it
very good use of mixed media...the integration of mind, body and speech in video is a portal many viewers don't know how to enter or don't have much experience with...the running commentary works well... the energy exchange between Christine and Harold is like two very different languages trying to communicate...as you said, lots of work. unfortunately not synergizing...as of yet!
@robion2020: the "as of yet" is all important....why do you think this vid has so many hits? I am amazed as it was a piece very close to my heart but very intimate....Harold gives me FULL permission to experiment. I love him!
btw, i love harold too. harold is very aware and open minded. he "cuts to the quick" and can zero in on interviewees statements to bring out the deeper meaning of words said, to bring out the perceptions of these words and hopefully gets the interviewee/viewer to think on a deeper level beyond the shallow conditioned pursuits found on most tv interview programs.

@davidcurtin1
she was I think and understandably so but as robion2020 says below there is an art to good communication and the support for it.
I was relating it to bodywork, you work at it with skillful teachers and the results are enduring.

it is more an artistic interpretation of how hard it is to break patterns
Probably you have to understand the Alexander technique first
Have you ever had a session?

@probablyjustme77 it is amazing that if you feel this way you even stuck it out to GET to part 2. Are you a practitioner of the Alexander Technique?

@paula:my opinion for the increased hits.
1. christine's popular name in the title of harold's video(almost 4000 views).
2. your video attached to harold's as a vid response(viewers click on vid thumbnail to see what it has to do with christine).
i believe this is a good example of the value of name recognition, like soulja boy. my opinion.
