That's the radio edit version of the song yet it's still tied (in my book) for one of the greatest songs ever written (but then again, I am biased). Sad the label wanted him to wear the thing on his head since he shaved his head before the video was made.

I went with my dad to the Stone concert at St. James' Park, Newcastle where they were on after the Quireboys. Managed to but everything they had done around that time. Let me know - my dad loves them.

they opened for the rolling stones (urban jungle tour). they started off loud and brash and were crap. then they played this song slowed it right down, and they got the crowd on their side. the rest of their slot was great. slow the way to go

Its actually Melvin Brannon who was the bass player for Dan Reed Network. The song "Rainbow Child" was released twice in the UK in 1990. It was first released in March 1990 but only made no.60 and then they re-released it in July 1990 and this time it went into the Top 40 at no.39.
