  • We need more songs like this one on the radio today.

  • A wonderful anthem for all the oppressed people of the planet.

    そうですか、助かりましたか(笑)

  • In the summer of 66 we took a trip to Detroit, MI and this song was popular at the time. Every time I play this song I have fond memories of that trip and I want to go back to Detroit. So sad though the City has lost so much and not what it used to be, really sad.

  • Do you know that the album cover for GUANTANAMERA features Dolores Erickson, the same lady who is pictured on Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass album WHIPPED CREAM AND OTHER DELIGHTS?

  • @TheHGN2001 How about the naked lady painted with a butterfly and flowers on the "Love is Blue" album (Mariat) from the same era? Is that her, too?!? She was my favorite.

  • @nauort23 - No, Dolores Erickson was not on the Paul Mauriat album (which I think you mean BLOOMING HITS)

  • @TheHGN2001 I just looked it up and you're right; it was called "Blooming Hits". Thanks, anyway.

  • Rosemary, remember Acapulco and the Majestic hotel in 67? I never forgot you and this was the song we danced to....your sailor.

  • I was 14 when this came out, in love with a drk haired girl form El Central. It has brought me back to the right of passage, the year I lost my innocense. A forever beautiful song.

  • I Loved This Song Since The Very First Time I Heard It And Much Time Has Passed Since That Time.

  • Such a beautiful classic !! Thanks for posting, 60otaku3 !!

  • You're welcome, fab4fan4ever64-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • the song is beautiful but I feel there is a meaning why it is composed in Spanish

without an English version...I know what Los Pobres De La Tierra...that maybe the

best meaning....Poor People of the Earth...what can be deeper meaning than

sharing with the poor......can anyone help me....

  • God bless YouTube for including this song! This is one of those 60s pop music rarities from Summer '66 that the wretched "radio consultants" refuse to include in their repertoire for "Golden Oldies Radio Formats".

  • Pra mim esta é a melhor gravação de "Guantanamera", e foi justamente nas vozes dos Sandpipers que ouvi este clássico latino pela primeira vez.

  • I remember a guy I worked with saying that his young son thought the words were .....

    One's with a fella !!

  • One-ton banana, can't eat a one-ton banana...

  • Is it a parody of this song??

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @60otaku3 LOL...Yeah, that's the version we used to sing when we were kids every time it came on the radio.

  • Thank you for explaining that, blackrock1969-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • @blackrock1969 hahahahaha!! Nice! :-D

  • @blackrock1969 LOL...I remember my older brother and his hippy friends singing.

    One ton high minnow.

Oh evil one ton high minnow.

  • Thumbs up!

  • Omg does this have anything to do with Guantanamo Bay????

  • On the Turquoise water beach drinking margaritas!

  • I remember the album cover very well of that LP, which was purchased by an older brother of mine and whenever I hear that song, the album cover immediately comes to mind.

  • Always liked this song. Liked the way it was used in Last Night.

  • Oh I love this music. We have this SP - my daddy bought it in Mexico in 1968.

He is dead and this song always makes me cry.

  • great tune!

  • great great music thanks

  • You're welcome, steron100-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • @60otaku3

I need a one ton tomato!!!!!!!!

  • What is that reason??

    ...Otaku3

  • @1paintist We never could understand the language as English has been about it for us. So! We made it up! I need a one ton tomato! Fits perfect!!!!

  • @1paintist Being mainly English speaking, we could not understand the words but loved the song and the music, so instead of whatever the main line is, we substituted: "i need a one ton tomato!" Try it. It fits perfect! And when doing so, it brings a guaranteed smile! WhatcanIsay? :=D

  • @60otaku3

I need a one ton tomato!!!!!!

  • @1paintist Oh damn!!! Someone else knows that version too!!! Wonderful!

  • This song reminds me of my guitar, the seashore, my friends, and summer evenings of long ago......thanks for posting!
