  • @horselover5993 You may not know that Maltese and other toy breeds are different from large breeds in the rate of maturity and responsible breeders (not mills & BYBs) do not let them go home before 12 weeks. Please refer to the American Maltese Association for further information.

  • My Monique was the best...she just passed today and am grieving...she was so obedient and trained easily...she loved when I talked to her from the start and so was trained this way...she was 13 yrs. 7 mos..she will be in my heart....

    Sorry about your loss. My wife & I have a Maltese, you have to own one to appreciate what wonderful little dogs they are.

  • An error in this info ... Maltese should stay with their mothers until the age of 12 weeks, per the American Maltese Association. Eight weeks is way to young for a Maltese to leave its mother and siblings.

  • @kalliebelle thats not true puppies are weaned at usually 8 weeks of age. Im a Kennel Associate at North Shore Animal League of America, and i and Im a certified vet assistant.
