@jennafan14 Believe it or not, I've broken alot of sticks on electronic drums. You wouldn't think you could, but I've done it countless times. A stick can only take so much abuse from hitting a piece of hard plastic (cymbals) so many times before the wood gets weak and breaks. It was only a matter of time. It was ironic timing since I had just made another video raving about those sticks 2 nights prior to them breaking.
@Drummergirl652 ironic yes. but i've been playin drums for a while and i've never broke a set of pro mark 7a's! 7a's! on a electric set. and i play with the brass surge cymbals tooo, or for one of them i do. but yea the cymbal didnt break your stick i'm almost certain. it was more than likely the rims on your toms and snare. the rubber cymbals should do no damage to your sticks
@jennafan14 Hmm, could be. Could also be that these sticks are Hard Rock Cafe and let's face it, they're probably not made with the best (sturdiest) wood. But I'm shocked they lasted as long as they did, which had to be about 2-3 years. I do tend to hit rims so maybe that weakened the stick & I'm always fighting with my cymbals and I'm sure with some the battles I've lost, that didn't prolong the life of the stick either. I did so many vids with these sticks so they were sentimental to me.
Aparently you weren't treating that stick like a lady....wakawakawaka. I'm here all week folks. Bad joke sorry, I know the feeling when my controller's break. Sorry bout the sticks!
@Tryptifaeris Haha - I now HATE that song! But will most likely record it (for spite) with the new sticks I get in its place, whichever sticks they may be, haven't decided yet. : /
@jeffersononetwo Well, as for the actual stick (of the pair) that broke, I will keep that one, for sentimental value however the other one will most likely be used as a future paint stirrer. That's what I do with my mis-matched sticks. Instead of throwing them out, I use them to stir my paint, since I seem to always paint my house. It's a way of recycling, in a sense.
Well at least those sticks can now R.I.P. Can you imagine if those sticks are animated in a cartoon and what would they be saying to us drummers?
