  • I guess mother like daughter ( Gumi's mother cosplayed at the end) (#^.^#)

  • Hey I just came here for some cheering up, came from Paperplane. Dont mind me.

    *sits down*

  • I heard Len lol

  • 1) The awkwardness that Len is her classmate n dad... O.o y couldn't the dad have been Gaupko or Kaito!

    2) I would of been so o.d pissed n yelling at my dad if i knew he was cheating on my mom >o<

  • Wow. Len is both her dad and her friend from school. Ackward.

  • gumi is obsessed with closets? otaku means obsessed with something, so she was obsessed with closets?

  • @mewXxtaytay haha, no...

  • @mewXxtaytay Otaku means obsessed with mangas and animes...... Like me!

  • @thecristian040800 so shes obsessed with anime closets?

  • @mewXxtaytay HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAno She is a anime/manga obsesed in the closet HURR DURR

  • @mewXxtaytay closet otaku means that she keeps her interest hidden away, not out in public. thats why she doesnt want everyone to find out that she is an otaku.

  • THIS SONG IS LIKE, MY LIFESTORY >:U

  • in case anyone cares its supposed to be "west building" occasionally "west hall" or "west convention hall"

which is that part at the Tokyo Bigsite that they usually hold the cosplay events at iirc

  • Ah~ the cosplay one is the story of my life haha.

  • Aahhhhh mom that's so embarrassing!!

  • Who else imagined their mom dancing in a school girl uniform at the end? :s

  • i clicked on this because i thought it said "sorry for being a closet"

  • 2:38 sorta sounds like red zone if you listen closely :D

  • I'm aware of it's negative meaning in Japan, but in the west otaku has just come to mean someone with an active interest in anime and manga. It's a banner we can all identify under like saying you're a Trekkie or a Whovian or a belieber. Language is flexible, and besides, Japan has more than enough loan words from us no?

  • 1:52 Woah. I didn't know Len was Gumi's dad!! O__O

  • @bubble0155 len sure does get around doesnt he? XD

  • @tacos12699 Indeed... But the real question here is... Who's the mother?! O.O

  • @bubble0155 miku of course bcus if i got my facts straight blue and yellow make green......... LOGIC bcus im a smart little person ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • @tacos12699 Ohoho logic(; So apparently Miku also likes to dress up in her old school uniform too? This video explains so much! XD

  • @bubble0155 exactly and len loves cats so thatss why he went to the maid cafe WOO LOGIC! XD

  • @tacos12699 THE WORLD MAKES SENSE NOW!!!!!! Ahh life has been fulfilled. XD

  • I would hate to be called an otaku I am proud of what I love but I wouldn't consider it an unhealthy obsession. Many so called otaku are misunderstood though.

  • Me and my girlfriend were both into dubstep... Yeah we played it loud, and rocked it loud... :D Until I found Gumi, i started rocking to this, and my girlfriend got pissed she said... "Drop the anime you otaku" . .. ... .... ..... I don't have a Girlfriend anymore... All well Gumi's enough for me!
  • very cute story and catchy as hell!

  • This isn't my favorite song but omg the story is soo kawaii x3 awww~

  • this would make a really good opening to an anime

  • How do you make the subbing font appear like that ? what program did you use ?

  • this song fits me sooo well o_-

  • If someone is complaining about you being an otaku just say dō demo ii or gotcha gotcha urase

  • Nico nico douga

  • I love this song :D

  • So, my friend told me something surprising and disappointing yesterday... Apparently the word "otaku" is shunned by anime fans and is used by weaboos?

  • @BlazeinTheMorningDew

Yup, this is very true. Same with randomly saying Japanese words because you heard it in an anime. I personally only do it, because I'm legitimately trying to learn the language, so I'll say a phrase every now and then to help get it into my head.

  • I wouldn't laugh If I met my dad in a cosplay café, with a maid outfit xD

  • LOL Hysterical storyline in this song! Thanks very much for translating for us. XD

  • 1:43 OMG O_o She should count her self lucky that I wasn't there.

  • at first i thought this said sorry for being a closet, but then i clicked and i was like OMG! and started laughing... XD

  • i love japan and vocaloin... but im not a otaku ._.

  • Im so in love with Gumi, i cut my hair just like hers today <3

    ~GumiLover77~

  • @GumiLover77 so did i! XD

  • @kuro932usagi EPIC!!! :D I HAS A TWIN!

  • I wonder if Gumi cosplayed herself or someone else.

  • Ahahah xD My friend and I, Last day of school sadly, but I still see her at anime club <3 She cosplayed as Xion from Kingdom Hearts, and I Spectra from Bakugan. xD

  • The last line of this song...

  • DESU. i am a total hardcore of otakus, and my friend is a normal one.

here is the huge problem: i keep up an act of despising and hating yaoi/yuri and yaoi/yuri pairings because my friend hates the daylights of of them, but i secretly adore them. i can't let her sleep over unless i hide my doujinshis, rrip my pics off my wall, and hide my manga and shut my computer down. DX everyone but her knows. i don't tell her because i watched this pairing for these two anime characters from a show she

  • @nemuanimation ADORES. i feel empty inside not telling her. heck, even my boyfriend knows i watch and read the stuff (hes the one that got me into it)

but i guess it doens't matter, some things you should keep to yourself, i know this because i found out that sydney secretly like perverted animes and adores them all. >:D

well, thats enought for tonight, need sleep *looks at time* midnight, i guess a few more songs won't kill me.

  • So the other day while my class was locked inside for a free period (because our teacher sucks) I was going to read some manga and sketch but then one of my super "Slutty" and girly-girl friends comes up and starts talking about boy problems etc. With more then an hour left we drifted to the subject of video games... then Larping, then how we are book nerds etc etc then all of a sudden I look at her phone and there's some Miku wallpaper and i'm all WTF, slutty b*** my arse! :D lol CLOSET OTAKU!

  • This was me until my girlfriend made me watch Doki Doki Yuri Gakuen for the first time and I started my addiction..

  • Do any of you know what being an okatu really means?

Okatu's are they guys who have nothing but anime sleep with live with 2D lovers ect. ect.

Not that I don't mind them I just don't think many of you know how far it actually goes

  • @undivinexxgrace Actually in Japan, Otaku means something else. It means someone who is unhealthily obsessed with something, and was considered an insult at one point. Anime otaku are the most popular in the West but in Japan you end up with Cosplay Otaku, Train Otaku, Radio Otaku... etc.

  • @MasterAsra Yeah I watched a documentary on Japan's Otakus, o.o Idol Otakus,,, and the ones who buy those dolls are just.. o..o scary.

  • @MasterAsra

Hurray for spreading word of the truth behind the word XD

  • @MasterAsra Actually not even that. Otaku is a word you use to refer to family. Otaku no okaasan is how you refer to one's mother.

  • @sonikku35 Not exactly. If you called your grandmother an Otaku(noun) it'd usually be insulting. Its a pop culture/media title for unhealthily obsessive people.

  • @MasterAsra No it's not calling them an otaku. In the real sense of the word otaku, otaku is not a noun. Otaku meaning a shut-in is more slang than actual Japanese language.

  • @sonikku35 It'll become a real world eventually, with the increased usage. Newspapers, politicians and almost all of Japan use it to mean shut-in nerds, and sometimes just people obsessed with something in general. You can say its slang, but everyone knows the meaning of it.

お宅 = House still, or people of your house/family. Though its not 'only' for your family anymore. People calling someone an Otaku generally aren't insinuating they're in the same house or family as that person.

  • @MasterAsra I am shamefully a Hikikomori.

  • @MasterAsra Wooh! Someone who knows the actual definition!

  • Hello,

    my name is Sardeed

    and I'm an otaku.

    And I'm proud.

    What are you?!

  • I'm an otaku but the kids at my school don't really care and most of my friends are into anime.....because of me =w= MWAHAHHAHHAAAAAAAAA

  • hmmm >.<

so glad my friends , non otaku's, still accept this as part of my personality...and besides, i have otaku friends tooo. :D

gotta love my school for this........i do get teased by it though. :] but thats part of an otaku life

  • @len70v3max

I know what you mean there.

    -"Whachya watching?"

    -Me: "What do you think?"

    -"Oh...that again?"

  • @ddesjman444 exactly! :D

    **wassup?

    **oh watching videos

    **leme guess- anime?

**U KNOW ME SO WELL xD

  • Well how old are you? I'm 28 and I've been watching anime since 88' my advice is keep watching regardless of what others think or say, I rember when I was in midle and high school anime wasn't consitered cool by any meens. I got teased and bullied for my taste. Oh well I guess somethings never change. Oh well atleats anime is widly avalible on the net.I rember the days of vhs and mail order back when lazer disc was still pressed ah. Oh well I hope ya never loose love for this art form

  • me too my sister makes fun of me i feel like saying screw you and I have no friends that watch anime I dont tell them they would say I am weird any advice? also I LOVE THIS SONG : D

  • I don't think anyone should have to apologize for liking the anime and manga franchise. Honestly, I often wonder what other people, who don't watch or read it, talk about. Their lives must be incredibly boring and redundant.

Also, I've come to notice that the most exciting, and interesting, people are the ones who enjoy anime, but we also get the backlash of fans who are a little over the top, which is what a lot of folks focus on when they judge "otaku's". o:

  • @wolfchick11 I agree

  • Theres nothing wrong with being an otaku, I have been one for years and I'll admit, it can get kinda lonely at times. Just gotta keep your head up because there are other people out there, they are just hard to find sometimes... Unless of course your here watching this video, then we are everywhere XD

  • I refuse to admit that I'm an otaku, even though I'm pretty positive I am. I'll never say it out loud.

I wish I knew other people who like anime as much as I do! None of my friends understand, and all the people who do like anime and manga that I've met were such weaboos. It's so frustrating! My family didn't understand for a long time either, I spent a year hardly coming out of my room because I was busy with anime and everything related. But I got my sister hooked and it's a lot better now.

  • Many people in Germany are left wing and can't appreciate something like this. I need to go downtown Cologne to meet few of my kind.@TheMainOtaku

  • @GloriousOtaku ^^' I see what you mean... In Holland it isn't very appreciated too. Especialy by those kids who think they're better. ._.' If you're cosplaying, you can already expect people think you're weird. x"D

  • @PurpleCherryNinja Those assos!

  • Then again... Maybe I have no idea what an otaku is...

  • @Itachisasukekiller an otaku is the Japanese equivalent of a nerd.

  • I guess I've been lucky in always having friends with similar tastes. I know/knew a crap load of people who liked anime and manga, maybe not to the point of being an Otaku, but at least enough to engage in a conversation with them about it.

  • If only one of my friends were an otaku like me..... I already have a friend who likes Let's Players like how I do.

  • @meccadivine1 why does it say your channel is not available? :-(

  • I am cosplaying gumi in a flash mob with my friends and the choreographer decided to do this song. I was speechless because this song completely describes me... Kinda creepy in a way x3

  • i wish i had friends who liked anime... and homeschooled so it is even less likely i will meet another otaku >.<

  • ; . ; most of the people i kno dont even kno wat anime is XD i wish i knew someone that was an otaku like me

  • Lucky for me there're many otaku, especially yaoi fujoshi at my school <3 i love them so much

  • I wish there were kids at my school that liked anime too. It gets boreing and lonley after awhile. : (

  • @VocaloidWarriorCats I know how that feels. :|

  • @VocaloidWarriorCats I love your name!

  • @cdraw1998 Thanks! ; 3

  • I went to school as L, since its the easiest thing to do and im Broke xD so i cant get a fancy costume... ._. no one noticed.. Im the only one that Watches anime and Dresses the way I do. They dont know what their missing:D Animes the Best n.n

  • aha she pwned her dad

  • @TheMainOtaku I feel the same way! :"(

  • Was... was anyone creeped out by the Dad part?

  • @OusanYmon I thought it was funny...

  • Me: *listening to song* Pshh i not a Closet otaku

Mom: *walks in* Hey what ya doin

    Me:*click out quickly* NOTHING!

  • What anime is this??

  • @xSheepiful It's not anime, it's Vocaloid ^.^ Look it up on Google it's way better at explaining then I am >.>

  • I wasnt an otaku until my friend introduced me to anime... now I'm addicted to it

  • otakus all over the world UNITE!!! enslave ALL non-otakus!

  • im an otaku at my school and at home no one likes anime at home or at school! i felt so lonely when it came to that kind of stuff.... Till one day a guy came to my school dressed as Naruto!

    Then everyone kicked his ass.

  • @NeffNeff02 im the same excepted that i was a boy Gumi :P

  • I gone into cosplay somehow.

One day I borrowed my friend's Miku wig. I was walking around the streets, joking around with him dressed up as Kaito-kun. We joked and suddenly a guy poked us and asked if he could take a pic. Then I saw it was my CLASSMATE. I freaked out and hid behind my friend, since none of them will ever know about my otaku-ness, since everyone in my village hate it and my friend lives far from me and rarely comes. ._.

"I'm Sorry For Being A Closet Otaku."

  • Comment removed

  • Her friend takes pictures of cosplay, her dad goes to maid café's and her mum dances around in her school uniform... and they're all Kagamine Len....

    WHY SHOULD GUMI BE SORRY?!

  • greatest thing about an otaku, even if there's no one around you who shares the same interests, you got the internet to back you up.

  • I love reading the comments to this video. It makes me feel less alone about loving anime :-)

  • I love being a Otaku OTAKU PRIDE!!!!!

  • I love the chorus of this song! (I wonder when people will realise that being an "otaku" is quite a bad thing!

  • Everyone in the comments sounds like they live in a super uptight community...

No one where i live seems to give a shit what you like :p

  • @KibblesSezHi I know right, same here. Or maybe it's more like /I/ don't give a shit what anyone thinks of me? xD I don't overdo it either, anyway. AGH, rambling, sorry!

  • Notice Len is both the classmate AND the dad?

Gumi: Hey Dad you look a lot like this kid in my class...

Len: *COUGH* What are you talking about? >_>

  • 3:40 akward turtle :)

  • @dylanneil: I'm an Otaku and everyone I knew transformed into Kaito. =C

  • I'm one on the most popular kids in school and have tons of friends in real life because of anime

  • all of you who are loney in your otakuness create one from one of your friends i did

  • Song reminds me of Kaichou wa maid sama

  • This was me like last year.

My friend was like this too, apparently.

One day we just found out that both of us were otakus.

Then we meet more people that were too xD

  • Sadly there isnt anyone with the same interest in my place ~,..,~ so sad

  • My friend realized that she was an otaku, like me.

    She told me this yesterday.

When she told me, I hugged her and said, "I'm so proud of you."

  • Who was the blue voice, i dont think it was miku... I could be wrong...

  • @COMMENTNINJA10 its gumi...

  • Guess it runs in the family lol XD

  • I'm an otaku, and almost no one likes me because i'm weird and unapproachable, then i met my friends who all are Otakus...we are really good friends,we all agree that when they first met me,no one knew I was an Otaku until I told them...

  • @commandergs there are many things said about vocaloids but that aside they sing. Basicly it, but if you still need more info PM me.

  • its okay Gumi...I forgive you :)

  • who are all the vocaloids?

  • @commandergs

    8D

    Theres...

    Gumi: the one singing

    Miku: Aquamarine hair

Len and Rin: The blond twins

    Kaito: Blue hair

    Luka: Pink hair

    Meiko: Brown Hair

And I think thats pretty much all the basics!

  • @SOXURROXOFF Hey, don't forget Miki!

  • @SOXURROXOFF dont forget the purple haired transvestite

  • @TheMainOtaku It's awesome that u found someone that u can relate to about anime. I actually have a new group of friends, and all ten of them are otakus!!! It made me so happy when I first talked to them, and they said they were into anime. My fangirl side of me just came out and they've been my friends ever since. They love anime and some even play WoW. I don' play WoW but I do play Wizard101 and one of my friends also plays it too :D

  • who are ALL the vocloids? cause i only really know miku, rin, len, kaito, and 2 others i cant remember their names

  • Im a Otaku and the only one at my school and at home no one likes anime at home or at school! I Felt so lonely when it came to that kind of stuff...Till one day a guy came to my school dressed as Naruto! I looked at him and he looked at me we busted out laughing! i told him how lonely it is being a otaku he told me i wont have to be lonely any more! We have been bff's Since then!

  • @TheMainOtaku I'm laughing at your comment - I remember what it felt like when I got into anime in the 1980's. Back then, no one even knew what anime was! i was lucky to have an older sister and her friends who were into it, so I could see it. Back then she had friednds who were pen pals with kids in Japan who were fans of American animation and they exchanged beta video tapes. No kidding-it's true. And for fun, check out the anime fan parody "This is Otakudom"

  • @TheMainOtaku Lucky you! I wish someone would do the same on my school! Well, untill then I need to enjoy myself with my favorite manga and anime. ^^'

  • @TheMainOtaku If you aren't a girl then... The wording is a bit odd is all...

  • @TheMainOtaku it was like that for me at college. i honestly didnt know about anime until college (was sheltered from a lot of stuff except video games and was immeresed in them as of major problems with schools(too painful to even remember as i forced myself to forget the major stuff)) but once i found it i was hooked. no one understood till last year when someone who was in my class was wearing a bleach shirt. we talked and had a lot in common, then i met his grilfriend. --next

  • @moltendaniel continued. and i discovered that they both loved it. and if it wasnt for her getting him the bleach shirt and him wearing it i would have never talked to him (im socially awkward and shy in a way) but weve been friends ever since. everyone else thinks im weird since hes now on a different course at college. the worst part is my sister thinks all anime is porn. she says (exact words which she says often) "all you do is sit in your room watching that weird japanese-----

  • @moltendaniel cont...porn shit".. no matter how i explain it to her she just doesnt fucking listen. so the only times i can express my anime love is when im with my freinds (college friend and his GF) or when im online on computer or xbox or psn. why are we so looked down upon?

  • @TheMainOtaku id much rather prefer being an otaku into anime and stuff then a bunch of crazy party drinkers and smokers.

  • otakus should be proud of what they are like the ganstas rep their rap like the emo kids be unhappy and dont give a shit. closed minded people think because its not from their culture its weird and like to make comments and pick on people thats sad i am otaku if anybody were to start picking on me for it id wing chun their ass soo bad

  • @stupidvidperson lol what's funny about this is that the Japanese -hate- their own otaku; most Americans who talk about how much they love Japanese culture probably wouldn't last 5 minutes outside of Shibuya.

  • @Calculated0Lie No cuz its mine too..... Oh wait. Yeah it's a bad thing

  • @Sarkias At least we aren't alone XD

  • My friends all agree that this is my theme song... Is that a bad thing?

  • that building at 0:42

    What is it called?

I was there for the tokyo auto show. but i didn't know the building was that famous.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm an otaku but my class is cool with that. Luckily.

  • this describes me so much (if you take out the otaku and replace it with gay)

  • only me and my other best friends who are graduating the year after next.)

  • I openly enjoy manga and anime, as well as my fellow anime loving friends and twin sister, unfortunantly my family is't a big fan of me liking it, my mom is ok with it, my dad hates the music and my nana hates Japan ( and pretty much every other country besides the US but she lived during WWII) my older sister calls me a weirdo, and my uncle well, he's a younger version of my Nana. But at least I have a few anime fans as friends. ( Who a majority are graduating this year leaving me with

  • why are both the top comments about Len being the mom

  • I like the song but i dont see why anyone should hide their Otaku-ness. Me and my friends are damn proud to be Otakus and nearly are entire school is scared of us and even a few teachers. xD :3

  • Thumbs up if you are a Closet Otakus too! =3

  • This song fits me :D I'm an Otaku but only the family I live with (Mum, Dad, Sister) and fellow Otaku friends know :) I'd rather keep it secret from the rest of the people in my classes and my friends who don't watch anime.

  • Len = classmate

    Len = father

    HOW OAO?!

  • I'm an otako :33 I Wanna be a closet otako but...My parents won't let me *Headesk*

  • @DessieDaBanana - what's a closet otaku ?

  • @DessieDaBanana Closet otaku means people don't know about being an otaku. Like being gay?

  • @yunaseii Wrong, Closet Otako is an Otako that wears Cosplays In public almost everywhere, Even to the store.

  • @DessieDaBanana Wrong. A closet otaku is a person who tries to hide the fact that they are obsessed with anime and manga, and when cosplaying they do it far away from people they know.

  • @DessieDaBanana An Otaku who wears cosplay everywhere is an otaku called a Cosplay Otaku XD

  • Thumbs up if you wanted to see the vid of gumi's mom dancing in her school uniform!!

  • I have found my theme song...
