Why i am i here again {view last comment } ...well despite being so out of tune - Sir graham is a power house ...hey anyone know where i can get this gig on dvd ?
Found this done by Graham Bonnet on Youtube, thought I recognised Cozy's drumming! Found the proof here! What a team Blackmore/Bonnet and Powell - whatever they played/sung together it was so GOOD! Thank you
gawd this sucks, ffs Village people mighta done the choroegraphy, jeesus there s about as much love in this song as a North Korean bomb landin in South Korea, Seemingly the South Koreans have invested in Lemmys Moles as Scud Missiles
ok, its raw and messy in places - but what a great improvised job . Bonnet blows away the cliched metal frontman with soul . Wish rainbow would have done more with graham , and WHEN is this gonna be released on dvd ????????????????
I think the reason Bonnet laughs at 2.38 is this is the mighty Rainbow but at that point it sounds like a two bit band playing in a social club or working mens club.
I agree with yanava. Good old days---everybody was shining on this stage, Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover as outstanding guitalists, Graham Bonnet as one of the greatest rock singers in its history, Don Airey as an exellent keybord player and Cozy Powell as a genius drammer. All but Cozy has become living legendary.
@yanava bonnett shined with every guitar player hes been with. personally, i prefer the work with yngwie and impellitteri over what he did in rainbow, but thats just me, and in no way am i slighting richie.
gbbird, you are right. This version, exactly this recording itself, is released officially for the first time in the "Rainbow- Anthology 1975-1984." I am happy that finally they released it. It is beautiful.
i cant believe it..i taped this from the radio back in 1980 and lost the tape a few weeks later, its amazing..thought id never hear it again and here it is on video !! loved Rainbow, loved this song THANKS for posting it whoever you are
Great performance! Over half the band was or still is members of Deep Purple. This was Cozy Powell's last concert with Rainbow if I'm not mistaken. Graham sings this song so well. Very moving!
There is one thing that spoils the song every time I play this video. My dear wife always points her finger at Ritchie and says with a giggle, "he looks like Mr Bean".
A joke. I am saying that Ritchie is so superior to Mr. Bean that Ritchie would dismember and slice Mr. Bean up like a fish and use his innards for guitar strings, like they used to use cat guts for tennis rackets.
graham bonnet is awsome. down to earth is one of the best rainbow albums. i liken it to dave navarro/chili peppers one hot minute album. one album with great results. too bad graham did not do another one w/rainbow. what a voice.
holy god his broken voice is great but his underatted probalby because he is the singer who replace dio and despite that i prefer dio s voice his voice is realle really great
Unbeleivable! i'm just completely blown away after listening to this stunning live vocal performance, one of the best i've ever heard on stage, awesomely powerful. Bonnet is so underrated its criminal. Be nice if someone could release the full show officially on dvd like they did with the munich 77 gig. Thanks for uploading
This sounds fucking horrible, altough I love Rainbow. Check Ronnie Dio and the Prophets version. All hail Dio!

Bonnet's the best! He might had not always been perfectly in tune, but his voice was unique and brilliant in its uniqueness!

It does show racial solidarity when a heavy band performs a Shirelles number without turning it into a bad joke.

Graham laughs at 2:38 because if you look closely, the top of the mic stand breaks off.
