  • Nice lift bruh..u have balls maxin out without a spotted.be careful man..I got 315 5x last week..goodluck

  • Nice strength! How tall are you though? I'm 5'8" 160 and I'm no where near as thick lol.

  • i am 14 and do 185 five times and i was wondering how you do negative reps????

  • wow...i wouldn't have tried the 5th rep without a spotter!!! :O :O nice strength man. currently i'm benching 160 lbs x 6 reps (and i'm 16 :P)...and my bodyweight is like 158 lbs so it isn't that bad.

  • @argentinamartin

I have spot racks in place...so I am safe. Good luck with your training bro...

  • Ha man! i think i may of already commented on one of your videos before. But i think what your doing is awesome! Im working on my max being what your reping in this video! so this video is amazing. it would be awesome to let me know any tricks, or what supplaments to use. that would be great!

  • Thanks for the great comments bro. I really appreciate the support.

I hit 3 plates for 10 reps back in Nov, which was a huge goal for me. No it's onward and upward....

All the tricks that I have learned over the last year and a half are documented in these videos on my channel. I don't use supplements or anything else. Although, I just added protein shakes about two months ago and it seems to help well with recovery.

Good luck with your goals bro.

  • Thanks for the inspiring video. I started weightlifting a year ago and added 100 lbs to my bench so I can bench 195 10 times. A year from now, I hope to be were you are at, benching 315 for 5 reps. Man, your video rocks and you are amazingly strong.

  • Thanks for the great comment bro - the sky's the limit so train hard and surprise yourself. Good luck.

  • not hooking the thumb is very dangerous even if its a light weight, many people have seriously hurt themselves. There is no reason not to

  • A false grip is not any more dangerous than a regular grip bro. I have seen the bar slip on both grips. As long as you are lifting within your means and under control you are fine. I have used this grip for over 20 years without ever having a problem...

    But thanks for the comment...

  • I am 46 years old, I weigh 195 LBS, my goal is to bench press #300 for 6 to 8 reps. I used to this when I was 34. Right now I am doing 280 for 5 reps. I like to 4 sets of 5. Whats your rep range with what weights

  • My latest video I just did 330 lbs x 8 reps.

Good luck with your training bro....stay strong.

  • i woulda quit at the 4th one without a spotter,,,damn good,,,i only do max 245x2

  • Thanks bro - I have spot racks in place so I am safe that way. I appreciate the comments.

  • Impressive Bro!! What is Your body weight at?

Also, what do You do for Your chest workouts?

5x5 / 5x4 / 8-6-4-2 for flat? Do You incorporporate floor presses/negatives/partials etc? 315 for 10 is sick!! I'm 195 and finally made it back to 315 for one, and would love to hit the magic 4 plates someday!! any training hints would be cool!! Thanks!

  • Thanks for the nice comments bro - I appreciate the positive vibes. My bodyweight is 205 lbs. My chest workouts vary a lot and I have tried to post as many of them as possible so that you can see what I did to take my bench from 350 lbs to 405 lbs...variety is the key.

I was using negatives and partials, but I have never tried floor presses yet. I might still try and work them in. I have a very strong lock-out though, so that isn't my key focus...speed off the chest is my focus..

  • now thats power lol

  • Thanks bro - I appreciate that...

  • nice lift keep up the good work. no spoter with that weight and that grip?scary

  • Thanks bro - I have spot racks in place and I have used that grip for 20 years plus (along with Arnold and many top powerlifters). So, there is not much to be scared of.

  • good form

  • Thanks man - I appreciate the comment. I just hit this for 10 reps a couple of weeks ago and a 405 lb bench.

  • okay nice job

    im not quite there yet

    how old are you?

    check out my bench video

  • Thanks bro - I hit 3 plates for 10 just a couple of weeks ago. I am 32.

  • I respect the fact that u respond to every message sent to you. Keep progressing and stay humble.

  • Thanks bro - great comment. I figure it's the least I can do for those that take the time to watch my vid's and make a comment.

    Take care...

  • awesome lift bro

  • Thanks man...I hit 390 lbs for the first time today, so I am slowly improving.

    Thanks again for the comment.

  • you had some serious grind time on that last rep man_good work!

  • Thanks bro...just working hard...

    I appreciate the comment.

  • I've never seen anyone that can push it like you can. Fantastic job.

  • Thanks for the great comment bro...I appreciate that.

  • didnt think the last one was going up. lol very impressive

  • Ha, ha...thanks man...it was a tough one for sure...

  • Man I admire your lifting, I'm lifting 215 @ a body weight of 180 lbs. I'm doing a 5X5 workout, but i would really like to know how you trained to get to 315 (thats my goal). Thanks, Eric.

  • Thanks for the great comment bro.

215 lbs is a solid bench at 180 lbs. So, you have a great base to work off of. For years I trained more like a bodybuilder than a powerlifter; I would do warm ups and then 2 work sets with whatever I could lift for 7 - 9 reps (Mon's & Fri's). I did that for years and gained a lot from it. It's only been in the last year or so that I started trying something new...everything works, but nothing works well...so you need to try everything.

    Good luck.

  • damm man nice lifting i 14 and only do like 5 reps of 150

  • Thanks man...

Everyone starts there...keep at it and who knows where you'll be when you are my age.

  • hah thats awesome buddy when i was 14 who knows wat i could bench but i started workin out at 17 am 20 now i started with a 5 rep max of 85lbs my bench and chest is and always was a weak point am workin on that tho hardd; i now have a 5 rep max of 290

  • Holy shit u did that without a spotter ur crazy!! atleast u got balls!

  • I have spot racks in place, if needed bro...but thanks for the comment.

  • good shit on that last one.. alot of folks would let it get to thier head and just give up

  • Thanks man...it was a grinder for sure...but somehow it went up!

Keep the great comments coming...I appreciate that.

  • wow, what your doing is extremely dangerous... a. you have no spotter with what seems to be a weight that is heavy for you b. you have a suicide grip at least thats what its generally called c. you did 365 the day before this video was taped... did it ever occur to you that you maybe doing something counterproductive if your training heavy 2 days back to back..

    and last but not least

D.. YOU COMPLETELY OPEN YOUR HAND WITH A SUICIDE GRIP ON YOUR LAST REP.. death wish

  • Well...for starters...a) I don't need a spotter because I have spot racks set up if I need them (weird how everyone seems to miss that), b) I have used a false grip/suicide grip (whatever you prefer) for 20 years now and I have never felt like I don't have complete control over the bar. But that's because I always lift with control and within my means, and finally, c) I change things up all the time and yes, sometimes I do two back-to-back workouts if my body is feeling up to it.

  • As for D...it's the same response as for B. I always lift under control, so my grip isn't a concern.

I grew up watching bodybuilders and I have always done my tricep exercises and bench with a false grip, as do most professional bodybuilders.

The only way you are at risk with this grip is if you are lifting more than you can control.

Either way, thanks for the concern...

  • Furthermore, I don't think I would get my lifting techniques from bodybuilders. When it comes to the weightroom, powerlifters are the ones to pay attention to.

  • Agreed...it just depends what you are trying to accomplish. I am constantly learning new things and hopefully that never changes...

  • I can't quite see how your spot racks are going to help you when they're set lower than your chest.

  • Not sure why I am explaining this but...here goes...

The spot racks are set up perfectly. They are at the right height so that the bar doesn't touch them when I lower the weight down, but they will touch them if the bar comes to a lower part of my chest. That means if I can't lift the weight I simply move the bar to the lower part of my chest, which puts it on the spot racks.

You can check out some of my negative videos for an example if you like...

  • Well, if you say so. In the video it just looks as if there is no way those spot racks could possibly help you. However, you're the one that's lifting with them. If you say they work, who am I to argue?

  • Thanks.

  • Wow, that last rep... wow... ur a soldier for going all the way.. wicked video man! hopefully ill be there soon!

  • Thanks man...I appreciate the comment.

  • why would you open your hand when your bench pressing thats just dumb ganna look real cool when you drop the weight

  • It has nothing to do with being cool bro...anyone serious about weighs and improving themselves checks their ego at the door. I use a false-grip for bench because I grew up watching bodybuilders and that's how most do their flat bench and tricep exercises.

I have been using this grip for 20 years now...can't saying I am changing...

    Either way, thanks for watching.

  • there is no such thing as improvement if one is not willing to change

  • I change things all the time bro...I am totally willing to try new things and test different methods, techniques, etc...

Anyone serious about improving knows that you have to check your ego at the door and be willing to try new things. Who knows, maybe I will switch my grip one day...but for now, I am fine with that.

    Thanks for the comments...

  • those were great clean reps.. in a few months i hope to post a similar video.. yesterday i posted a 290 max vid..

  • Thanks man...you'll get there if you keep training hard. Send me the vid when you get there...I would love to see it! Good luck bro...

  • Good job man, for how long u been working out?

  • Thanks bro...seems like forever. I just did 340 lbs x 5 reps the other day (it's posted). I started working out when I was in grade 6 and I am 31 now...so like I said...forever.

  • I really like your form and tempo, alot of guys I see do this, bounce the weight and pop it up with the momentum. You are all the way down with a good slow tempo, that's some serious time under tension man. Mad props

  • Thanks for the comment bro...I appreciate it. I try to lower the bar slow and use only my own power (i.e. no bounce/momentum) to blast it back up. I can't lift as much that way, but in the end, it will help me keep increasing my weights without injuring myself.

    Thanks again for watching!

  • i cringed on the 5th rep, you coulda killed yourself.

  • There's spot racks bro...so it wasn't that scary. Thanks for the comment.

  • very impressive id be terrified to try that without a spotter

  • Thanks for the comment...

  • Nice work! Very Strong indeed!!! PRUSSA

  • Thanks Prussa. You have some great vid's posted as well.

  • good job man, i give you props because your not like alot of other people who act cocky. 5 star!

  • Thanks bro...I appreciate the comment.
