I have another video with the body off so you can get a better look how the engine and G50 five speed gear box fits. I have also uploaded some in-car racing footage. Enjoy. Furthrmore I`ll tell you then you dont have the faintest idea what you are talking about. Are you a engineer? Or just a kid browsing around on the internet. Leave these discussions to people that have done it, seen the restrictions etc. We had to take a wegde out of the gearbox even to make it fit. So bigger than a 2.2, maybe as much as to 2.7 size, bigger than that you have a ridiculous looking bonnet at the back, standing too far out, or removing the backseat, putting the engine in the middle,

@jorikrademakers Hehehe, actually I know what the fuck I`m talking about :) Ive spent THREE months, we started June this year, to fit a Porsche 2.2 to my Beetle. We couldnt go bigger, the gearbox only permits THAT much, if you go further your engine lid, which needs to be custom made, also by me and a other specialist, will stand VERY far back. Mine looks still acceptable, but with a 3.6L like in this video, with his backseat still in there...

@DenverJohnBradley Do you have knowledge about this? Yes/No? Well, I do. The gearbox wont allow for any further movement, meaning that the engine cannot go as far as you claim, haha, into the backseat area, being removed from car. The ONLY thing he couldve done, was to turn the gearbox around so that the engine can THEN be inside, and with better all round weight distribution. other than that, BULLSHIT!! Sorry for only replying now.

correction, its not. This is very well a 4 cylinder Porsche, because if it was a 6 cylinder, the engine lid would have been modified for the larger 'standout' from the back. The biggest Porsche engine I`ve seen in Beetle was a 2.7. This wont fit, if it was a true 911 6 cylinder, sorry, thats the fact.

@phitsvang don't you think its possible that he extended the engine to the back seat which he probably doesn't have since it's a race car?

@phitsvang correction if you actually knew anything about cars you would know this is a flat 6 just by listening to it,everything fits if you make it fit,give me enough money and enough time and i would put a 4.0 from the new gt3 rs in a beetle wich would still fit
