  • How simple person he seems to be. So mature to his age and be onwner of so clear thinkings.

Reading bellow a met at last somebody who walk out of the movie "Black Swam".

  • I first saw a clip of him on YouTube with Gillian Murphy in Le Corsaire, and decided to put his name on the search field in YouTube. So this is the second time I see or hear about him. And I am impressed with his clarity of ideas, of expression, and definitely with his dancing. I just added the movie to my list on Netflix. I don't completely share his perspectives on the direction that ballet should go: the classics are eternal for a reason. I had to walk out of the movie "Black Swan."

  • Glad to see he's not as cocky as Cooper in Center Stage!

  • he is REALLY awesome! Love his dancing! He's a huge artist!

  • lovee this intervieww!!! it really shows the passion and the life of a dancer!! :D

  • "when you get out on the stage, you're in a zone. nothing else really matters.... when i get out there, it's all about being in the moment"

    <3

  • The typical ballet-goer who will purchase a ticket is an older person with disposable income. This audience wants to see "comfort shows", ie. Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, etc. So that makes it harder for new choreographers because the ballet box office dollars are really in traditional ballet.

  • If you know someone out there suffering from abuse from media please say something...there is enough media sufferage I hate to see prey fall vistim and trying to escape the system.

  • "you do it because you have a vision... And that's a gift"...."5th position is 5th position". Yes, Ethan! Brilliant dancer, bright, articulate, you do our artform proud. Respect -3

  • I've seen him first in the Center Stage movies and directly fell in love with his incredible dance talent!

  • whoever said ballet is only for gay men was crazy. Ethan Stiefel and Baryshnikov are two strong, amazing and straight male dancers! But gay dancers love you too : )

  • He is probably the most beautiful American dancer ever.

  • I am so excited for him to be going to NZ. I think it will be a start of a new era :)

  • We have to say Good Bye, he is gone to New Zealand with his partner.

  • He has been, and always will be, my favorite male dancing perfectionist! Bravo always, Ethan!

  • He has been, and always will be my favorite male ballet impresario! Bravo always, Ethan!

  • I have seen center stage and center stage2 a bunch of times I love ballet

  • what a fantastic representative of American ballet and American dance. he is so intelligent and talented.

  • he's a really great dancer..admire his talent..

  • I love this video. I'm so glad your feeling very good right now. You don;t know how much I enjoy your dancing! You are not only a great dancer bur also a pretty good actor, you convey the emotions very well and that doesn't happen very often in the world of ballet. Keep healthy, take care and God bless you.

  • As a male who's taken ballet for a decade, I can honestly say... some things never change.

There are times where it's still a "girl's club" and if you're a boy there, you're like an intruder. The odd man out.

I have to salute the danseur-- the few, proud men out there trying to make leaping around in pantyhose to classical music a respectable, dignified profession.

I love you for it, Ethan. We all do. Keep it up.

    Don't stop...

--Your brother in arms and tights, Dane Youssef

  • @SURFUR I always salute men who are not afraid to stick with Ballet. You may feel like the odd one out, but we need MEN in BALLET!!!

  • He´s beautiful and what a good interview.

  • "independace day"?

  • hahah i'm one of those people who has watched center stage a million times...

  • hes AMAZING!

  • i LOVE him

  • Great interview, it would be nice to see more of this type of interviews.

  • This is a very intelligent, insightful interview. He's someone who didn't rely on just his innate physical gifts. He has really grown as an artist and obviously, a well-rounded human being.
