  • Just buy a golf instead. Way better.

  • @jdomes For one, the Golf is in a different segment entirely, two, the Golf is a boring nerd/chick car. Plaid seats? No thanks. If people want a boring car with outdated styling and mediocre quality and reliability, however, the Golf may be the perfect fit.

  • @Lumadar If you think the golf is a nerdy/chick car than you shouldn't be reviewing cars. It is most likely the best hatchback in the last 20 years. and then plaid seats that are in the GTI are amazing, plus you can get leather. The interior of the fiesta is a pile of shit compared to the golf. And last time I checked Ford doesn't have the best rep sheet for reliability. Not to mention, if you get a car with those graphics on the side you only drive at night so nobody can see them.

  • @jdomes Thanks for sharing what is literally nothing more than your own personal (and insignificant) opinion. You may think plaid seats are amazing and that the GTI is the best hatchback in the last 20 years, but I have news for you - the market disagrees. Ford sells more Fiestas in a month than Volkswagen sells GTIs in what, six months?

    Ever wonder why?

  • @jdomes When is the "last time you checked" quality reports? Look at the reports from 2005-2011. Tell me who was consistently higher, Ford or VW? $500 says it is Ford (Because I know the answer, unlike yourself).

Ford's quality has been INDUSTRY LEADING for the last several years with the only exception being in the last report due to MyFord Touch - an option that isn't even available on the Fiesta, nor does VW have anything comparable. As for the graphics, I didn't pick them & I removed them.

  • #LOL

  • HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPY.

  • Keep in mind the market and the class the car resides in. Comparing to acura and the sorts is kind of silly. Though I agree...some of the front end designs i've seen from toyota and esp. acura....dear god turn it off !!

I think this car is going to do great and hopefully will only get better !

It was cool to hear him say the overall ride was great...that makes the car more of an experience to drive. Not just a plain boring pile...which is a hard find in this segment.

  • looks like a nice commuter car...

  • #LOL

  • definitely looks like a "smart buy". it's just so dinky looking.

  • nice. im looking to get this car in january. the black realy impressed me in this video.

  • idk man, the new designs of cars coming out these days are hideous, they all look futuristic and too complicated, especially acura...toyota and honda are going there too (i dont likey)...bmw, mercedes, and audi are doin a great job on the designs, but they're money hungry haha (aka luxury)

  • @Maniakq1 I guess it all comes down to personal preference. I do agree Acura is the worst of the worst right now. Toyota is just boring, and Honda too.

I do like what BMW and MB have going on for sure.

As for the Fiesta, it may not be 100% what I would have done, I do think it's the best looking car in its class.

  • @Lumadar toyotas and hondas are boring, they have no soul to them...i used to have a scion xb it wasnt that bad a car though but it was lacking that certain feel to it

  • what engine do u have?

y was planning to buy for my mom the 1.2 titanium version + some extras( THE EUROPEAN VERSION)

  • @TheMRamstaff This was the 1.6-liter four-cylinder. I think it is a great engine, plenty of power and great mileage, too.

"American" taste calls for more power, but the 1.2 Titanium would be a great ride, too, especially with European driving tastes and likes. I say go for it!

  • NICE CAR

  • How much was the car?

and I thought they are available in summer. How was he able to purchase?

    Thanks.

  • "What do you like about the car?" "The way it rides" "How about the.." "The way it rides" "What about?" "The way it rides" lol

  • Excellent looking car to compete with the Fit, Aveo, Rio, and Yaris. Ford really needs to create a sub-brand marketed toward younger drivers.

They need to do what Toyota did and hide their name from younger buyers using a sub-brand. They need to come out with a new affordable "secret" brand.

  • That's a very interesting idea. I actually think it's a great idea - but I don't see it happening because it would clash with Ford's bigger overall shift to focusing on the Ford brand.

Definitely some food for thought, though...

  • @Lumadar but the idea has worked well with many companies like rogers and bell or.. at&t and verizon wireless or something. but i don't know much about american cell phone companies but in canada, rogers and bell have many sub-companies or brands under their company targeting to different demographic segments.

  • @shuyin200,

Toyota's Scion division was a successful idea at first, but its sales are struggling right now. As Lumadar has said, the Fiesta is an important part of Ford's shift into creating interesting, desirable cars for the American public, and they really have no reason to "hide their name" from younger buyers at this point. Their focus is brand building, and the Fiesta is helping them get right on track, along with the new Taurus and Fusion.

  • dude toyota is playing it safe with Lexus and scion but ford cant make another (like mazda) they own mercury lincoln and volvo and we dont need luxury in this type of market.

  • Well if you read online from forums or most car reviewers you will find nothing but bitching about how "The Europeans get all the nice cars, we want the Euro stuff" blah blah blah.

So Ford is bringing the Euro stuff. Market research shows that the trend in America is heading towards more acceptance of small cars - so I do believe adding a luxury small car is a good call. This isn't Mercedes-type luxury... but it is a few steps above the standard "loaded" Toyota/Honda etc small car

  • it looks like a fun car for a daily driver

how is the room in the back?

any more info on possible engines available?

And are these going to be avail in the next few months?

  • I can't imagine a better daily driver, to be honest.

Room in the back isn't bad -I've done long road trips with friends over 6 feet tall in the back and they fit without complaint.

Engine will be a 1.6-liter 4 cyl. with 119hp, and 109 tq. Rated at 30/40 MPG with 6 speed automatic.

It's going on sale in May or June of 2010.

  • sounds like a plan dude, im def. gonna check it out for a daily driver come june.

Thanks for the info and the videos dude :)

  • I have a question for the OP....how can your brother be environmentally concious yet "enjoy pushing and driving his vehicles hard?"

Not to mention....he drives an Explorer? That car is an environmental disaster. I don't get...can you clarify?

  • I'm so glad I wasn't born without a brain, but for those of you that were, I will still answer your questions.

There is more to pushing and driving vehicles hard than mashing the accelerator. He for one likes to go fishing, hiking, and camping and often has to drive on dirt roads and trails. It's very rough to do so, and yet, doesn't hurt the environment. Crazy concept, I know.

The Explorer averages 20MPG and hauls tons of gear, people, and off-roads. Your POS Prius can't do any of those.

  • 20 MPG my ass....no need to lie to look good. Second, I don't have a Prius...but it's similar to a hatcback for the most part...and most hatchbacks can do whatever an SUV can do...with a few exceptions....they handle better, are quicker, safer, stop faster, on and on.

So again....how is someone environmentally concious driving an Exploder?

Oh and a Prius a POS? Uhhh...well..it's one of the most reliable cars made.....how about the Exploder? Fking idiot.

  • I've seen the digi readout. He gets 20MPG. He isn't some young punk kid racing light to light like you. Does your hatchback unibody car seat 5 AND carry gear AND offroad? Oh, didn't think so.

He got it in 2002 before there was jack for hybrids out there. He is holding out on a new purchase until he can find a vehicle that will get good mileage and do what he needs. Or he can be a moron like you, buy 2 vehicles, and have a larger carbon footprint.

PS, 7 years and not ONE problem. Owned.

  • A Ford Explorer has horrific quality and problems...that's FACT....so stop being an dumb armchair internet idiot about it.

Yeah I need a car that carries 5 and gear and go offroad ALL the time because that's what I do all day right?

I have one car you idiot....and bike and take the bus the rest of the time.

A Ford Explorer...and environmentally concious...LOL...I almost pissed my pants. No wonder there are so many idiots running around in SUVs...you've psyched yourself out.

  • Interesting, you make claims, but when they don't match reality you just ignore them? Reminds me of the current White House.

I know for a fact his Explorer has never had a single problem- although the radio would fail to eject CDs on occasion after 5 years or so. That's it.

You may not need a car to do those things, moron, but he does. He goes hunting or fishing nearly every weekend.

Your bike/bus argument is more retarded than yourself. So I won't even bother. Keep on hating Toyota boy.

  • The exterior is nice...however the interior looks kinda weird. :S

  • Great video Mark! I too like your Focus a lot. For sure I'm either going to buy the new 2011 Fiesta or all new 2011 Focus. I'm hearing the next Focus is going to be pretty awesome. We finally get the incredible European C1 platform that we've all been reading about and drooling over. So Fiesta goes on sale early next year and the new Focus goes on sale late next year. Sounds like it's going to be a Ford kind of year in 2010. Can't wait!

  • Thanks! I hear you on the "which small Ford do I pick?" choice. If they had a 2 door Fiesta it would be easier for me to decide... they are both going to be such nice cars. Can't wait to see them both on the road!

  • Sorry - Those graphics are a mistake. I can't imagine why the people at Ford felt like the car needed graphics at all?

I love the car. It does not need that "decoration". One thing that I really like about your red Focus is that it is so sano. Very clean. You need to call your friends at Ford and tell them you're ditching the graphics. The car does not need them.

  • I appreciate the compliment on my Focus. I too always liked the simple monochrome look. I would NEVER put graphics on my own car, and the only reason I did for the Fiesta was to get more people to notice it. Being black, it kind of blends in.

If I had a Squeeze Green Fiesta I would go decal-free for sure. But, at any rate they are peeling in a few places...so they may come off in a little while anyway ;)

  • The black looks really nice, I like it.

  • You should see it in direct sun in person... it's full of blue and silver flake.
