You notice in the end the priest put his head up and breathed in (holding in his tears)
@MlleCommentaire There is no Chinese Paladin 2. The sequel to this is Chinese Paladin 3. But even then, it talks about the story of a few generations before Xiao Yao and Ling'er's generation. If you're referring to the original story (meaning the RPG), then Chinese Paladin is about the story of XIao Hu who is Xiao Yao's best friend in Yu Hang city. You can see Xiao Hu in ep.1 in this drama.

every legendary swordman has a sad story behind him. Thats is wat Chinese paladin is trying to achieve.. From the game, Pal3 onwards was a turn-off as there was no link from the start.. Not to mention 4 and oncoming 5 next year..
They should have shown Xiao Yao going to see Xue Ru's father and give him an explanation why his daughter died because of his impetuous decisions and Ling'er's selfishness. Maybe her father would have cut off his head and put him out of his misery.
OMG i loved this series, i felt like when i watched chinese paladin 3 it had not as much emotion and the love was not strong. idk i felt like it dragged on allot more then this one :(, the music in chinese paladin1 i feel was better too. man i sound like i'm rippin on part 3 but i mean it's not horrible it justs wasn't great. It was just a disappointmment after this one. i wished they would've kept some of the same people and i really hope they make part 2. LOVE story line so sad.

no offense or anything but that was a crappy ending! it was bull how Ling'er died! even though it was only a tv series, i felt the true emotion that the actors putted in this series! very sad, first time crying due to a movie...it had so many things put into it but the ending was crap! they should do a new series about Xaio Yao and his daughter and then at the end, Xaio dies and meet Ling'er in heaven, and do a last episode showing the love of Xaio and Ling'er.

Well the original storyline had a better ending~ Except it was Yueru who came back to life and spent the rest of her life with Xiaoyao and Yiru (Ling er's daughter)

every legendary swordman has a sad story behind him. Thats is wat Chinese paladin is trying to achieve.. From the game, Pal3 onwards was a turn-off as there was no link from the start.. Not to mention 4 and oncoming 5 next year..

They should have shown Xiao Yao going to see Xue Ru's father and give him an explanation why his daughter died because of his impetuous decisions and Ling'er's selfishness. Maybe her father would have cut off his head and put him out of his misery.

OMG i loved this series, i felt like when i watched chinese paladin 3 it had not as much emotion and the love was not strong. idk i felt like it dragged on allot more then this one :(, the music in chinese paladin1 i feel was better too. man i sound like i'm rippin on part 3 but i mean it's not horrible it justs wasn't great. It was just a disappointmment after this one. i wished they would've kept some of the same people and i really hope they make part 2. LOVE story line so sad.

The old guy looked so shocked at the end because, when Xiao Yao asked, "Do you understand?", and he touched Xiao Yao, he realized that the Dao he had been following for the last ten years was wrong; it was not about sacrificing your love and having equal love for all the creatures in the world like he thought. Xiao Yao knew he had reached his Dao and the old man knew it too when he touched him; it was about loving someone, not regretting it. The old man was regretted having given up his love.

no offense or anything but that was a crappy ending! it was bull how Ling'er died! even though it was only a tv series, i felt the true emotion that the actors putted in this series! very sad, first time crying due to a movie...it had so many things put into it but the ending was crap! they should do a new series about Xaio Yao and his daughter and then at the end, Xaio dies and meet Ling'er in heaven, and do a last episode showing the love of Xaio and Ling'er.

LOL, in chinese paladin 2, the same thing happen as how you described it ahahha~ too bad the director didn't want to use chinese paladin 2 (the game) because the storyline in that sequel was not sufficient enough to make a success drama. that's why they skip to chinese paladin 3
