  • It's not just about being able to touch the vinyl, its about seeing the music on the vinyl itself so you can cue, phrase match and mix using the "map" laid out on the record for you because of how voltaged controlled feed back cutting technology works.

  • Very nice, you should check out the SL-DZ1200 accessories at SENSEI HAUS

  • I run serrato with vinyl and I was wondering if there is something like this I can use without CDs to avoid worrying about the needle. I saw a vestax (I think it was vestax) setup with a lazer that watched the vinyl motion and did this same thing, but I don't know how it worked and I can't find it online.

  • hi their is your tt m1 up for sale as i have just bought this cd player if you dont use it thz ,

  • what is the cheapest cd playing equipment that would work with the ttm1?

  • @minimierno13 the Tascam

  • ok thx

  • I think it's funny that you scratched with a record that had scratching on it already. Breaking the fourth wall.

Anywho, Someone should make a CDJ with a moving table, which has numerous points on its outer edge to measure the table speed, and in turn hold the music on RAM and mathematically mess with it. Good Video!

  • If you don't wann use a laptop/Serato. And you don't mind ripping cd's this is the way to go! With the TTM-1 it is hard to beaf for the price, Scratching is great and betmix using your 12's just like vinyl! Have had the cd-dj-1 for at least a year and love it!!

  • You could mount it on your turntable but I don't think it'll control the USB. You could give it a try.

  • can the tt m1 be used with virtual dj

  • No, it can't be used, it can be used only with some Vestax and Tascam CD Players

  • slow pickup on the turntable at 2:39

  • sweet! can you play the cd and the vinyl at the same time? and like scratch at the same time?

  • Real DJ' playing vinyl!

    This Toys are jog!

  • meh, what about the wheel putting a force on the vinyl. The platter wont move as swiftly as with no wheel on it, does it?

I like the idea of time code systems better.:)

  • It uses optical tracking like a mouse, so it doesn't affect performance.

  • what company makes that

  • TT-M1 is made by Tascam and the cd player ther(I think CDR-05 its called) is made by Vestax.

  • Yeah - tt1 is great - so easy to use. Apparently Tascam have their own CD player out now - looks quite nifty

  • I hope Tascam,Vestax or whoever makes another cd player thats compatible with the TT-M1. This time with a USB flash drive and outlet.

  • Write to them - probably glad of user led ideas

  • I've already called their office out in Cali and left a voice message. Imma' get on the writing thing to, how bout you do the same if ya feel the same way.

  • serato rules, ttm1 sucks! get a serato or a virtual vinyl or just a final scratch , even m-audio torq. this is a waste of money

  • it is'nt actually cause its the most affordable for digital dj'ing. I don't wanna buy a laptop.

  • How is it a waste of money? Its affordable and convenient Mr. MoneyBags. The only downside is you have to keep using more and more CD's.

  • hi can you only use the tt-m1 on technics and vestex and numark if i rember?

  • Yes you can.

  • don't numarks have a power button or something where it is mounted?

  • like an old dynamo on ya bike?

  • lol it seems.. but i think that is an "optical reader".. it doesnt touch the platter..

but im not sure.. i dont own one of these

  • i was fooled!!! i thought you wad hybrid turntables that play both cd and vinyl! what you can do with them is put a cd in, and a special vinyl on top, and when you play the cd you can move the vinyl about to scratch the cd

  • Hey jon... did u know my tables are CDJ... theyre vynil tops... but u put cd's in.. and then you just scratch the cd's. VERY high tech, VERY superior.. didnt know if u knew these existed. take a look at my video #1... u'll see!

  • you should look into serato scratch live

  • if you're a kajillionaire. The TT-M1 and CD-DJ1 are the most affordable. The only downside is you'll be burning alot of CD's.

  • U can use ur slipmats if u want, dont have to use a record.

love the TT-M1, ive tested it and works great. Scratching is Great, actually a lil more accurate than serato. Thats how good it is and sadly hasnt got enough media attention that it should get.

  • hey john,

i actually had a chance to play around with one of those in conjunction with a Tascam CD-DJ1.

I think it will be very useful for my mixes - i'd love to control the CD with my turntable's platter.

one thing i was wondering was, how easy is it to change the record with the TT-M1 on your turntable? I'd want to be able to use both vinyl and CD. can the vinyl be changed with it on, or does it have to be removed?

  • all you do is lift the wheel up and it is totaly out of the way!

     100% user friendly johnathan

  • The 'Numark CDX' actually has a vinyl (without a song pressed) on top of the platter, it is also 12inch so it is basically has a look and feel of vinyl

  • so does the Technics SL-DZ1200, Im not sure if its a 12" jog though, looks more like a 10" jog.

  • numark cdx thousand times better man..

  • numark lmfao

  • Does any other company make these ive been looking at time coded vinyl but its so expensive?

    Thanks

  • ok i've heard of that b4, but what IS time coded vinyl?

  • Its smilar to this idea you use your pc or laptop music libary which is transfered onto the vinyl on your turntables using a midi controller!

There are expensive ones like Serrato and Torq or cheap ones like mixvibes!

Basically alot cheeper than vinyl and more acessable!

  • interesting. i'll look this up.

  • here u dont need timecoded vinyls..

u dont need a vinyl neither.. u can scratch even with ur splitmap

  • ooh just had to add..

you can also use SSL which puts the music from the pc into the vinyl :)

  • or you could setup a loop station :D like

dj inferno if you check out his vids!!

  • will it work on a normal cd player?

  • it will not work on normal cd player... works only on cd players that has support for it. The cd player needs to receive the data sent by that equipment and normal cd player doesn't have that kind of functionality.

  • No, you need the relevent input. The tt-m1 is a special controller for all the TASCAM cd-x series of cd players. johnathan

  • I wish they made a new product for the TT-M1. I'm tired of burning CD's. They should do something like Scratch Live or Final Scratch but with the TT-M1 rather than vinyl. I love the TT-M1!

  • what thts cool sweeeeet

  • Oh yes, gotta love vinyl burn :(

  • For those who want to seek more info on that piece of equipment it's 'Tascam TT-M1'

  • cool gadgit....Kepp the videos comming.

  • This is the kinda video you should be making. More quality please, less piano nonsense.

If your set is 2 decks and 1 cd-j, and you still mix vinyl into vinyl, how easy is it to move that thing and get vinyl on the platter?

  • will this work with a normal cd player?

  • you done a deal with vestax ?

  • I'm also wondering about... why not on technics ?!

  • Like time coded vynal :)
