  • some beast a cat aye

  • if you would put your shit for brains to use you would know it's a panther.

  • not necessarily a domestic cat. if there is a breeding population, then it could be a juvenile, which would easily fit under the fence.

The word you are looking for is cryptid. It means a creature out of place or time. So an animal that is not indigenous to an area, and now inhabits that area, is technically a cryptid.

  • This a a panther, there are many hoax videos out there, but if you stufy the profiles of the two animals, you can see the differences:

the whiplike tail, elongated body and muscular hind legs look like a Panther to me - you don't know the size of the fence that it crawled under

  • Its a dam cat. If you want to see the difference just YouTube Black Panther Alabama

  • meaaww!

  • its a cat.......lol

  • Yep, that's a cat.

  • Chupucabra?

  • ITS CLEARLY, a panther. Rarrr!

  • Without any reference to the size of the animal, it just looks like a regular domestic cat to me.

  • common domestic cat. If that would be a melanistic leopard, jaguar or cougar the fence would have to be huge to let it slide under it so easily.

  • Its a Panther For Sure

  • looks like a black couger

  • those fences dont look too big and a banther coild'nt walk hough as easily...it's a big domestic cat or a baby panther

  • It does look like a big black tabby cat but it's tail is extremely thick for a normal cat, and it's also quite big... To me it kinda looks like a baby black panther, and there could very well be those roaming around in Great Britain. It's been reported that here in Australia people have seen a black panther-like 'beast' wondering around Sydney suburbs. It's too bad you can't get a good picture of the paws because that would be the defining factor between normal house cat and big cat. -R.

  • yeah that would be a cat issac newton

  • its a dog you idiot.

  • DEAR GOD!!! A RARE HORRIFYING TABBY CAT!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! RUN 4 YA LIVES!!! seriously? this is a joke right...

  • banff and whitehills is full of beasts min the folk av seen up there!! dear oh dear

  • Looks like my cat, Poley!! Big 20-lb cat!

  • shit that fence must be bout 20ft high OR the bog cat is actually really just a normal bloody cat

  • I have one of those. It's called a Black cat.

  • black house cat, i mean how much clearer can it be

  • wow.....a black cat clearly

  • panther?idk ive never heard of it i just like watching this stuff cause i find unknow stuff like beast of dartmoor cool

  • The way it walks and the way the hip bones move as it walks, seems to suggest a big cat of some sort. Looks to be a black panther

  • big stray cat...

  • that is a freaken cat it isnt even half the size of the bush

  • surely it is not safe for people with that big bastard romping about surely it should be captured and sent to were it comes from so it can find a mate and get a tan instead of being alone in snow and rain.

  • Thats not a beast! I remember 10 year back? I was with my dad, mum, and 3 sisters and we were dropping a trailer in a layby on the banff to aberchirder(foggie)road & we seen this black cat come out of the woods, It must have been 4 foot long atleast & its tail even longer than its body! It wasnt a dog it didnt look like a dog but it was a panther type thing, so ide say it was a wild cat of some sorts and it was pure black like jet black & it came out looked at us then it just went back in the wood

  • Kitty

  • that is just a black moggy

  • Its just a normal pet cat.

  • It's just a normal cat -.-

  • thts a kelas cat google it

  • THIS IS A CAT.

  • muppet that was clearly a domestic cat....

  • THATS A FUCKIN CAT HAHAHHA

  • i spotted something like a puma in the highlands years ago!

  • i seen one in dumfries on the hills next to a farm. it was black but massive!

  • I saw a cat that fits this description October 1, 09 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I was on the last street before leaving the NE corner of the city. There are homes on one side and open, partialy graded fields on the other. This animal leapt infront of my bus clearing both the road and ditch on both sides in one bound. It was huge. I would guess at least 3.5 feet and looked too much like a cat to be any breed of dog. It's tail was as long as its body and it was jet black.

  • i've seen a few beasts up in banff. do't eve get me started on macduff.....

  • hahaha...pitsligos even worse..

  • i'd say it was a cub, i'm from the area and i saw something when i was out on by bike as a kid. it walked across the road about 10-15 meters infront of me. it was at dusk so i didnt get a clear look but it was bigger than an average dog, had a long cat like tail and longfur round it's neck.

  • wtf i used to live near the beast of bodmin, now i live near the beast of banff (or just your basic pussy cat)

  • Thats it all confirmed - there are big cats in Scotland.

    100% true.

    Amazing!

  • its always a black act int these sighting, taken on a rubbish camera, now see if it was a video of a big arse lion full mane n all then i mite believe. i've no doubt that somewhere in the british isles there are big cats running about but not slinking around long enuff for people to get there cameras out there wild animals that are either going to attack or run away

  • i ment cat lol

  • ive actually seen a big wild cat like that in edinburgh in a little wood bit. quite loat of sighting around that bit.

  • Where about in Edin??

  • south edinburgh it was years ago but i always remember runnin down and sein it it jumped up abit next to trees. we all just ran straight out because we were young. next to gilmerton

  • fucking black couger idiot

  • Ha!

Neighbours tomcat is visiting his 'district'.

    Or:

    Our cat on duty!

  • isny tht big fs haha

  • thats just an ordinary cat you plonkers

  • well going by its size and rounded tops to its ears i'd have to say... without a doubt... quite definately... one hundred percent sure... and with all my heart and sole and in true honesty... fuck off ya bam and go feed ur cat some crunchies its starvin

  • CAT

  • I think it is most likely to be a domestic cat, judging by its height compared to the fence.

The research group Big Cats in Britain publishes reported sightings annually by county.

  • I think it is most likely to be a domestic cat, judging by its height compared to the fence.

Was this filmed by a CCTV or a handheld camera?

  • HaHaa!! lol!! peer poosy cat!

    Eitsa kitten lol!!

  • lolcatz...

  • cat is tiny compared to the fence posts. it even squeezes under the BOTTOM FENCE WIRE. a big cat would just jump over it. a normal sized house cat.

  • If you compare the creature to the height of the paling posts, I think it is just a moggy.

  • its just a house cat, quite a large one admittedly, but just a house cat all the same.

  • Thats no puma or any other large cat! Some of the uncut blades of grass are taller than it. hehehehe Its probably sitting on some old grannies lap right know.

  • i agree with trixy372 that definatley isn't a domestic cat !

  • I'm not saying it's a panther or anything like that but it def isn't a domestic cat!

  • wow were was this taken!

the ppl that r sayin its not a big cat really shud go 2 spec savers haha

  • Sorry you're all wrong thats Mike Yarwood doing a good impression of a cat! Excellent.

  • if you go down to the woods today youd better take a pointy stick,,,house cat me arse !!its a panther alright coz ive seen his brother.!!

  • It's obviously a house cat. Just look at the way it moves: the gait is all wrong for a big cat.

  • totally agree!! black panthers/big cats dont move like that!! its a house cat!! that fence is prob no more than 5ft high and that cat is small!!!!!

  • It could be a wild cat that someone got as a cub and then released when it got too big- they estimate that over 5,000 bigs cats are kept illegally in America as pets. :( Poor kitties...

  • its not a fuckin little black pussycat its too big u idiot

  • The fence looks to me to have been put up to keep deer out of the field which would make it about 6 - 7 foot high. Looking at the size of the cat in relation to the fence, the walk etc. I would say it wasnt a house cat. Interesting

  • agree

  • its a fuckin little black pussy cut get a grip

  • i live in australia in a town of about 5000 people, but 10kms out of town theres a 100 person town that is in the middle of a pine forest and there has been sightings and dead livestock, we assume its a black panther that was brought to australia in the war there known to have been living in the grampians//PT1

  • PT 2//the Grampians is about 280 kms away but there has been bush fires and drought so people think they may have travelled to our area, there has been a photo of one in a pine forest 60kms away but no1 knows if it was photoshopped or not.. does anyone 1 think it could be a panther???

  • sam happened with me i was walking back from my mates house a couple years back and this huge black thing was sitting by this fence near the woods up ahead it was just sitting there by the edge of this fence by the wood area i thought it was a dog at the time but when it hoped over the 5 foot fence and noticed it had this really long like cat tail it really freaked me out i couldn't believe what i just saw

  • thats the same thing i saw bout 5yr ago crossing the road beside spey bay in moray,, its tail was in a sort of u shape,,, its defo a big cat of some sort wether its a leopard remains to be seen

  • coudlnt it just be a black panther\leopard or something i mean really lol..we always have to make something up to keep us busy tough ^^.

  • The last time i seen a pussy that big I was drunk in Amsterdam and I lost my wallet. You know its true.

  • hmmm...i'm watching a monster hunter show about this giant cat...hmmm....

  • it's a wild fucking indian!!!!!!!

  • I don't think they mean alien as in "from outer space..." but more like non-indigenous. There are no big cats indigenous to that area, but apparently something is living and breeding there now.

  • It's not a cat! There was actually someone who analyzed this video and found out that it was a panther or a black leapord! It's actually just something commom...And umm I would hate to see a house cat THAT big

  • omg! its a house cat! its gonna attack me! ahhhhhhhhhhh!

  • Ohhh the poor kitty. It got lost on its way home.

  • looks like a regular cat

  • Im not so sure looking at this if it is a genuine big cat. Having seen one myself up in Scotland I remember it to be quite big! This one looks a bit small to me but it is hard to tell on camera coz it can make things appear differently at different angles.

  • it's a panther, there have been a few found in canada, or a male jaguar mabe even

  • This is scotland..

  • Lol! :D

  • looks big, there could have been a hole in the fence

  • I'm from near the area where this was shot and in the past 2 or so years there have been alot of sightings of the "beast of banff".

I think this was in the cornhill area and the owner of the field had see the beast before so decided to set up a camera to try and capture it on film. Just thought i'd answer some questions :)

  • this is a regular cat. the proof of that is the fact that its passing through the fence holes. No fence would have 2 square meters holes, otherwise it would not be a fence at all.

  • I Think is a new kind of European Biga Cat

  • ITS UR MOM!!!! JKJKJK i think its just a kitty

  • I Think is a new kind of Euroean Biga Cat

  • Uhm where about in Banff is this?

  • Look at the size of that Fence , its atleast 7 ft high , then compare that to the size of the cat. That aint no house cat.

  • it's a normal cat. Panthers, cougars, mountainlions, all the same beast, but that cat was much too short and not nearly as cautious as a cougar would be.

  • it's only a cat...

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty big skeptic, but that seems to be a pretty good sized cat. I (the girl i live with) has three cats and they don't walk like that. The cat here seems to have heavier steps...but, then again, it could just be a black house cat taking a stoll. Intersting, though.

  • it just be a small baby panthrt if it is as big as that lol ??????????

  • unless the fence is 8 -10 ft tall I would agree it being a giant east, but it seems to me that the fence is about 3 ft tall, I think its a house cat

  • yeah that does look like a house cat

  • it is a very big black house cat

  • anybody know the history of this video? Why were they filming a fence, and why did they zoom in to the spot where the cat emerges from?

  • CCTV i guess, and then they editted it later on to show it better.

  • holy crap i never knew jaguars lived in Alberta which is where I LIVE!!!

  • lol! He or she (i don't know) is talking about

Banffshire, Scotland. I also live in Alberta; Calgary. Where are you?

  • shit son i live in fortmcmurray alberta!

  • im from calgary and ive never seen any cats like that except your small fluffy adorable house kitty variaty,

  • What neighbourhood are you in?

  • westside abouts

  • I'm NorthEast

  • its a thick tail it has on it. it may not be massive but it certainly is bigger. i have 2 norwegian forest cats and they are bigger than house cats. and my youngest norwegian forest cat of only coming up 2 is bigger than the fully grown norwegian and like double or triple the size of a domestic. that is no domestic but a hybrid. who cares if we cannot identify it. if we find them we'll destroy them like everyother place on this planet. just look at the way that thing walks. fuds

  • It's weird... I'm not sure it is domestic. The shape of the head is perfectly like your average tom, however, I noticed it's gate and the way it holds its tail. In that slow big cat manner -shoulders up, body low, tail curving lazily in an ark. Domestic cats usually carry their tails higher then that. Still, it could be just a tom. Who knows. No one is going to be able to prove any of these mystery animal cases without a good camera WITH A ZOOM -_-

  • that looks a hell of a lot like my cat!!! where was it taken cos i havent seen him for three weeks (seriously!!) Its soooo NOT a big cat!!!!

  • thats a cat or a gay panther

  • Dude thats just a lill ass house cat. That fence should be around the same as ur height.

  • if it is a house cat it must be a house cat on f'n steriods

  • It is a relative of the Surrey Puma perhaps

  • Perfectly obviously an ordinary domestic cat. There just MAY be a a very few big cats (escaped or released) in the uk, but 99% of reported sightings are nonsense. There are TOO MANY reports. Supposedly shy beasts wouldn't parade around in front of every gullible nerd in the way they apparently do.

  • No, but they'd have to go to those gullible nerds' farms for sufficient and easy meals. =P

I agree though, this kitty could live next door.

  • USA RULES!!!

  • Shut the fuck up! :D

  • I must admit that this reminds me of a domestic cat.

But don't doubt that these beasts exist.

I have witnessed a mother with her cubs in East Yorkshire. Was Amazing.

  • *steps on kitty*

  • why were you filming a fence??

  • where is the BEAST???

  • It's a MOGGY, you can tell by the normal length of tail in proportion to the body, and the height of the cat compared to the hieght of the bush. Sorry it's a house cat.

  • i reckon thats the real deal. we always hear of a big black cat up this way so someone set up a camera, of all the bullshit on this website and u attack this?? build a bridge

  • As pornfarmer suggested that animal is about 1/4 of that fence's height....but why would there be a fence of 'maximum one meter'....to keep children at bay?...Anyhow interesting video....

  • that's no panther maby just a bigger than average cat at the most.

  • what puzzles me is why did you spend 31 seconds filming that bit of fence?huge coincedence it mysteriously becomes the exact spot the " big cat" appears?

  • this is fake man!! i never 4give you!! you waste my 59 seconds in my life!! gRrrrrrr!! that is a ordinary cat!!

  • wa hell0

  • This could very well be the beast of Banff.

It's also a great big house cat.

    Conclusion:

The "Beast of Banff" is just a great big house cat.

  • any magnifier???? Lolllllllllll

  • its a fucking house cat,c'mon do you think you could really fool us.

  • Too big? That fence is maximum one meter tall. Making the cat... ooh 20cm high. Dear me it's a monster! It's nearly 20cm high! It might attack my shin!

  • How can u say something that big is a house cat ...

  • there is a beast of exmooor i live right next to the quantocks and i have seen it when me and my mates go up there

  • The Moggy of banff!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I agree it's a large house cat. Period.

  • sorry guys...hate to break it to you but this is just a housecat...and a skinny one at that. the scale gives it away but even if you ingore that...the cat is too slender, body is too narrow, legs to thin, heads too small and narrrow and it is too black in colour. melanistic (reverse albino) cats are not tottally balcka nd will still have traces of the pattern of the coat...btw i am a biologist by profession

  • My Grandad got a picture of a huge paw print in snow at Duff House Royal Golf Club in Banff. It might be the same beast. Except this was in 2 years ago.

  • it looks like a normal cat,my own cat is bigger tbh

  • beast? looks like a normal cat

  • dude, look at how small it is compared to that fence. And compared to the rest of the shot the fence dosent look to tall. maybe 4' tops. that is a black house cat. Plus do you really think a cat the size of a panther should be able to just walk in between fence posts like that? That isnt a very effective fence. I mean why even have a fence if its going to have gaps that big in it? No thats a house cat.

  • You obviously dont watch enough nature documentaries. Then you would appreciate how flexible leopards are. The cat in this video may not be a black leopard BUT CERTAINLY TOO BIG TO BE A HOUSE CAT!

  • please Animal Planet and Discovery are basically the only channels i watch. And that is a house cat dumbass. Its a big one. But i have seen bigger. and dude that cat just walked right under that fence. there was nothing flexible about it.

  • If that is a housecat then it is obviously a genetic anomaly thats grown huge.

  • wow dude you just sounded like a da on youtube. lol :)

  • hmm, a Scottish Panther...must have been an abandoned pet or circus escapee...lock up yer poodles

  • yep...that thur is a black panther, or leopard... whatev..

  • Panther.

  • almost looks like a regular old house cat to me
