well, my problem is unique to say the least. I have a tmobile 4g sensation, 1.18 boot. i followed all the steps yet could not get past the original fastboot, it keeps saying "Waiting for fastboot" in the command box, and on my phone it displays the fastboot menu.

Can someone please help me?

I know this is a "stupid" question...but I can't find the answer online. HOW do you boot into RECOVERY MODE? I know you are supposed to use the Volume button (or both) along with power button (hold all down fully) ??? I knew long time ago when I was waiting to Root my New HTC EVO 3D (launch date) but I waited and forgot till now...and maybe ALL new things are out that are better and maybe reversible by now. @llPANDAIl I had this issue with my Desire a long time ago. Could get into Clockwork mod and Hboot fine but wouldn't boot past the HTC screen. The way I fixed it was to flash a custom rom. For me, somehow the vanilla rom which came with the phone became corrupted and wouldn't boot after I tried to flash an update to the Superuser app (Wasn't S-Off'd then which would explain it).

Any advice on the Sensation. I used the Revolution exploit. I get the beta key and install same and the program tells me it is an invalid key. This has me stumped I have never seen this before. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

@smartphonedoctor All I would say is get another Key from the site. Make sure you put all the details in properly or it will generate a false key.

@Kwongster94 You have to download Titanium Backup as it doesn't come with the Superuser app. You can get it from the Android market. As for the changed phone settings, sometimes during the rooting process the program sets everything back to default to prevent issues during the root process. Nothing to worry about. Just change 'em back.

@thomast1313 hmm..not sure what you mean by your first question. In response to your second one, did you flash the superuser.apk after you ran revolutionary?

@thomast1313 Okay to flash it via fastboot is easy. If you're on an evo 3D rename the zip file to PG86IMG (or if you're on a sensation, PG58IMG) then place it at the root of your sd card, then boot into your bootloader, it should automatically detect it and prompt you to install.

@parkourfreerun101 What I can suggest it installing htc sync, so the proper drivers will be installed, then removing it (just the program) before you try to root again. Also..I know I was doing this once..and I had the same issue..and it turned out to be something simple as unplugging and re-plugging in the device again.

Just one question, after we root the device do can I unistall the apps that already came with the phone? And how easy it is to go back to the ''unrooted'' device in case I need to send it to warranty? I've been reading tutorials and watching vids for a week now but im still afraid of bricking it. And if I am able to root it im afraid i cant put it back to original. Im not looking to install custom roms, just root the device in order to uninstall some apps, improve battery life and cpu speed.

@timrichardson1990 Hmm..so after the second fastboot reboot it just loses connectivity to your phone altogether? I would have to search on that, but be sure that your drivers are installed (normally the issue) and you have USB debugging on, and a secure cable connection to your pc.

At first it would not take mine either because I had entered lowercase for the first part of the serial number to get the beta key. When I went back and corrected it to uppercase 'HT', the new beta key worked fine. Be sure not to include the last part of the serial number line (LA00001) as part of the serial number.

@evtam Yeah, just boot up normally so you have internet. Then download TeamWin's Recovery (look at the page of the first link in the description.) Basically, all you need to do is place the .zip onton your phone boot into hboot, and it will flash it. PM me if you have any problems.
