Isn't one species different from another because they can't breed and have both male and female offspring that can also breed?

Can't both male and female wolf-dogs breed? If this is the case, aren't dogs just domesticated breeds of wolf rather than a separate species?

If I am inaccurate, this does not surprise me. I'm not anti-evolution or a theist, and I'm not using this as an argument. I'm just curious.

@ArcasDevlin This is actually a good question. As Evolution is a continuous process it's hard to tell when a new species arises. The definition of a species is still under debate. Even different dogs can be seen as different species as they can't naturally reproduce.

in the same way humans are apes

and apes are monkeys,

and we are all fish (well, really chordates).

Yes, dogs are just modified versions of the wolf species. (Though there may be some breeds that can no longer breed with wolves or certain breeds of dog, making them new species. I can't find anything conclusive there, but I have a feeling that, say, a Great Dane and a Chihuahua might not make viable offspring. They certainly can't breed naturally, which is how some species in the wild are defined, I think.)

I think there is something about creationists that makes it impossible for them to drop arguments that have been debunked. I've been arguing with Ray Comfort on his blog and he just uses the same arguments over and over again, no matter how many times they are shown to be wrong.

Therefore, dogs and wolves are not morphologically different.

He will assert that he is using "your" definition of 'morphology,' too.
