  • Steven Hawking!

  • Actually the gait's far from reproduced, they just stuck a tall dude in a fluffy one piece suit to stroll along on lanky legs. Didn't look the first bit like Patty any of it. Meldrum only said certain aspects of the gait, not agreeing it was like it at all. It's impossible to do anyway, these beings' legs & hips are completely different from ours not to mention their much longer torso. We will continue to look silly in suits cos we're simply not built for it anatomically, so no suit will fit.

  • the gait was recently very closely reproduced by an actor during a piece of research involving Meldrum. The gait was reconstructed by an actor waling on a flat smooth surface and after being coached and being able to study the film. He also only replicated it for a few steps, not for nearly 100 yards. The suit he wore was also much lighter than the suit this 'hoaxer' wore because the mass was just so small. Also it was not 7'3" tall and the limb ratio was different. Case NOT closed.

  • Wasn't this filmed with color film? Also, is this being narrated by a computer. Watson on Jeopardy sounds more life-like.

  • Nice to see the Sasquatch has a sense of humour - turning up at Bluff Creek!

  • Sounds like Bigfoot is narrating this.

  • Yep biped which is why certain aspects (remember that word, aspects?) of walking will look human. Heck, they may even be human. I'm sure if we found living Neanderthals we'd be able to copy aspects of their walk too, but not the whole thing. I'm not ducking if you're referring to me, my stand is clear; I think if they exist they're smart and not apes. And whether you like the thought or not, there's the chance we already know of them and let them be. Hence, the idea of parks in the first place.

  • So Meldrum's a quack for having a different opinion than other scientists, seymour...what utter nonsense. Besides, he didn't admit it's been done only aspects of a walk - not a whole far stroll... The gait's not been redone, impossible due to Bigfoot anatomy vs. our own proportions, plus any recreated suit doesn't resemble Patty in the least. These recreation attempts are basically useless.

  • Having Watched This Footage A Few Times And Im Just Some Dude, But It Appears As If This Creature For Lack Of A Better Description Has A Longer Right Leg Gait Than The Left Maybe Indicative Of A Limp ? Previous Injury ?

  • Comment removed

  • Don't pay attention these lame emin alter ego accounts, the boy's on a frenzy now... Noooo, the film (not video, creeps) in most likelihood is in fact the real deal. No hoax, no fake, but you can dream if you want...

  • Actually, the man or his family could never show the suit that was used.

  • Yeah...you are smart all right...the 'man' is Bob Heironimus and his less than stellar recreation is here on youtube. National Geographic was poised to do a story on him...when he walked out in his shaggy lame suit, they packed up and left...Aint I smart?? J

  • Being closer to man than ape, it isn't so surprising they have eluded capture. They are (or were) probably smart enough to do so. Assume that Patterson's footage is real, as I believe it to be. What can a reasonable person infer about the creature? That it is extremely leery of humans, moreso than a moose or a mountain lion. It sees the camera and books it away, and looks over its' shoulder to make sure it isn't being followed.

  • I don't think you can infer WHY the creature looked at the cameraman, just that it took notice of that person.

  • im freaked out of the sound and video

  • what guy?

  • First off...it was a shot on film, not video. If you can't even name the players invovled...Roger Patterson never admitted to any hoaxing. He went to his death in 1972 steadfast in his claims of authenticity...the second man who was with him was Robert Gimlin...he too, has never made any admission of hoax, and has stuck to the same story for over 40 years...you are wrong on all counts.

  • There were about 125,000 lowland gorillas just found thriving in the Congo earlier this week!! ...Now how can that be? Haven't we combed every square mile of this Earth?? How in God's name could we have missed this HUGE troup of primates??...makes one wonder if it's possible that there may be other primates we have missed..hmmm

  • yeah third largest forest in north americas in canada too

  • Not enough space??? You know nothing about geography!! The entire population of BC lives on 5% of the available land mass!! Not enough room!!?? That's a riot!!! 250,000 square miles of uninhabited terrain in BC is not enough room!!!

  • A source for what?

  • You are kidding, right? There are parts of the Florida Everglades that haven't been explored by man.

  • I think you stay hidden in the concrete jungle with your head up your ass making statements like that. They're not a mystery, they're all over the world by different names.

  • Haveing just come across this comment i thought i might answer it.Everyone I know is aware of my interest and absolute belief in this. I dont even pretend to hide it in any way shape or form.I would also like to add that I dont personally know anyone that buys the B.H. story or any of that hollywood crap even if sceptical about the film.

  • Yes! The man (philip Morris) who made this very costume can be seen here on youtube with another costume he made in an attempt to recreate the footage...check "Bob Heironimus walks in a Bigfoot suit" to see this amazing suit! Keep in the back of your mind that this guy claims he made the original suit! He even claims to have put ol' Bob back into the same type of suit! Look convincing to you?

  • How does a real Sasquatch walk???

  • You see Bob H's re-creation? Amazing eh?

  • Still think Heronimus was the guy????

  • Which "asshole" do you mean?

  • Yes he did...he has a recreation of the "film" (it's so bad all we get is a montage of stills) here on youtube...check 'Bob Heironimus walks in a Bigfoot suit'...it's pretty damned funny! Watch it and let me know if you still think he was the "guy in the suit"!

  • Have you watched the "man in the suit" in action yet? Still think he's similar to what we see here?

  • Yes,joeyvader i meant to type Bigfoot is a Clone Product of Atlantis.

The animal is a Hybrid of Human and Primate genetics...

  • I've been doing research my self.Facts state,BigFoot is a Clone Product of Atlantis.

This animal is a cross between Human genetics and bear...

  • Why do the hairs found come back as primate...no bear here at all...

  • it looks like a mix between all 3 with the head and nose and stuff

  • Non believers are just scared of big foot

  • I believe in Bigfoot, but I'm still scared of them!

  • Me too...I'm heading to Pennsylvania in September with the BFRO...anybody else going?

  • I'm not going, but look sharp, Joey; I think BFRO has a great website, but there have been concerns expressed about Matt Moneymaker (BFRO founder). I don't know if it's true, but some people have claimed that they saw Matt standing next to his open car trunk with a ape/bigfoot suit in it. Could be just a rumor from those who might be jealous of Moneymaker. But it's rather curious, because apparently BFRO expeditions do have a suspiciously high success rate with screams, prints, sightings, etc.

  • I have heard some rumblings to the effect of the success rate, as you mentioned, with screams, prints, and wood knocks...They even address this on their site...I't been some time since I've spent the night roughing it...I spent four years in the army as an Airborne guy...but that was about 20 years ago! Should be cool. I'm heading down with an old army buddy...We are looking forward to the ecclectic group that I'm sure we will meet!

  • Don't forget your camera joey and IF you see SOMETHING, please post it on YouTube...

  • I have to get a few extra batteries for my video camera...I looked at a pair of night vision binoculars with built in digital camera...toys are cool...I'm sure that with a bunch of Bigfoot weirdos in the woods we probably won't see a sparrow, let alone a big hairy biped...

  • Tell me, what if you guys see one? Would you carefully approach it? Probably not, right?

  • I'd probably soil my drawers....

  • Huh? What does that mean?

  • ...just what it says...

  • sorry...saw you are from far away..."drawers" may also be known as underwear, gitch, underpants, etc,...to "soil" them would refer to the act of squeezing out a cob, poop, turd, feces, excrement et al, into said "drawers". This act may commonly be known as "shitting your pants"...hope this clears thing up for you.

  • Thanks for telling me Joey. I was just EATING, but that's ok......LOL!

  • Of course they had Ape suits back then! I have one on tape chasing Curly around! Check the ape suits from the sixties! They are amazing..ly bad...Janos Prohaska was one of the men who made a living playing various apes in film (Mugato) (nerd ref)...when he saw the footage he was sure it was a living animal and not a costume...

  • That's right, Joey--Prohaska thought the film was real but his comments have been taken out of context by skeptics desperate to find any sign of a hoax. And to StevieNicks3839: They ha ape suits decades before this film, but in '67 they didn't have realistic muscle definition in these suits and certainly they couldn't make the muscles appear to flex as in normal movement!

  • Selatik...check the "Bigfoot in a James Bond Movie" clip...what the hell is that?

  • In '67 they had no suits that could do this, it's way too elaborate for a hoax, much easier to understand it's a living being. Bigfoot looks like this, there's no point in trying to pick it apart and make up all sorts of thin excuses. As always, Bigfoot has the last laugh.

  • The main feature that really struck Krantz was just how broad she was when seen from behind in the final frames. He estimated that she was at least 3 feet wide. You can pad shoulders all you want, and the arm will still swing from the same pivot point, and yet her arms seemed to be jointed at the 3 foot mark, outside the parameters of a human. This feature alone made reknowned primate expert John Napier of the Smithsonian question how it could possibly have been a man in a costume...

  • why does the the bigfoot-have large breasts? is it a female ?

  • Yes, it is a female.

  • seeing muscles move means it wasnt a suit!

  • Even today's CGI would looke fake, and be revealed quite easily, yet a 41 year old film still stands the test of time. Why? Well, why do you bloody think!

  • This footage is real. I belive it.

I m not sure about Freeman s footage but this one is possibly the only one authentic

  • I don't believe in Bigfoot , the problem I have is why can't anyone prove this video is a fake? ( please don't TELL me it's fake , Show me.) , Show me , a side by side , with this video taken in the 60's , with todays technology , you would think it would be easy to do.

  • Easy if you use CGI which was not availiable at that time. There have been so many scientific evaluations of the footage, and all of them have proven that whatever it is in the film...it's not human. So the question I have for you then is, after seeing the NASI report..or the slowed down, enhanced footage....how can you NOT believe in bigfoot?? You're LOOKING at one.

  • Because those with the money won't touch it.

  • With all the tracking equiptment, technology and money in the world, how come no one has actively discovered them? if there are other large humanoid creatures existing in small colonies on earth, as recalled by isolated tribal and native groups the world over, would governments want the public to know they existed?? what would the risks be to human society/cultures/ideologies if there ever was a bigfoot discovery?? simple questions, yet no answers...

  • Bob Titmus, a tracker, followed the trail 9 days after it was filmed. He found that others had cast the prints beside Patterson. There is a weekend hunter out there who has these in his collection and doesn't know it!

  • Your bullets wouldn't likely stop creatures that size, but you'd probably succeed in frightening them off. You'd better hope.

  • a .22 caliber could bring it down! its about shot placement not calibre size!

  • A .22 would ricochet off of its skull like it was shot from a pea shooter! And I really doubt it could make it past the fur, the hide, and the intense muscle density. Try to bring a buffalo down with a .22 and you'll see what I mean. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's highly unlikely you'll kill him with that caliber. If you hit him with that, and he sees you, you're dead!

  • "No sooner does man discover intelligence than he tries to involve it in his own stupidity" -Jacques Cousteau, 1963

  • thanks obviously not a human. try and find a human of that size that can walk that smoothly. with that largely proportioned, EVERYWHERE! scientist have proven that a suit cannot be made even a little similar to the big foot above.

  • Love the stupid robot voice. "Warning Will Robinson, Warning!

  • Gimlin had a rifle...Should have shot it in the leg. A tranquilizer gun even better.

  • Why shoot it with a gun, when you have a 16mm movie camera with you? I know that you exist, but I don't have to shoot you with a gun to prove you exist.

  • I know, but, the contraversy ends the minute someone captures one or produces concrete physical evidence. We've maxed out on the photos and videos. Lets take it to the next level of proof.

  • Yeah, that's right; piss the thing off and then Mr. 9'8" Bigfoot comes running out of the woods at you with his taller brothers, shouting, "You hurt our sister! Me eat you now!!"

  • Well, that would be a shame bcuzz then they're would be bullets for each of them too!

  • Hey Swazze....I have two scientists off the top of my head who say it can't be a human in a suit! Jeff Meldrum from Idaho U., and the late Grover Krantz, who taught anthropology at Washington U.! So there ya go!

  • Actually, a human DOES NOT walk like that, look at its body shape for Christ sake, ever seen a human shaped like that? I sure haven't.

  • dnp97001 I think it is! lol

  • Is Stephen Hawking doing the narration?

  • Only idiots dismiss what they cannot explain.

  • This is true man. But not if a human is involved in the story. The human mind can make some crazy things like spend an amazing time and money producing a hoax for different reason. I really don't know of course, but the doubt exist because of the involvment of mans with unknown motivation. It looks real for me but I can't be sure.

  • This is real like komodoman said it looks to unlike a human

  • Yep. As I've certainly said many times, in oh so many pestering threads:), it's just not anatomically possible for it to be a human. The shape is all wrong for human proportions, from head to foot, an actor just doesn't fit. Legs, back, head, gait, unhuman. It's very simple, so much more simple than people think. They can't wrap their head around the thought, the blatent facts, so when all else fails for them it *must* be human. :-)

  • Well said, komodoman.

  • and what about legends of hairy beasts told by natives dating back 150 years before this film ?

there are hundreds of reports documenting this type of creature BEFORE it got the stage name "Bigfoot"

maybe the natives did it for the commercial gain too eh ????

  • That, my friend, should be sufficient proof for anyone. I actually took the time to ask some Native American doctors (one of them was a zoologist/cryptozoologist very convenient) regarding the sasquatch. These creatures have been a topic in early Native American stories since they first landed here after the Ice Age! Amazing...

"when in doubt, ask the natives" - me

  • It's almost certain that there'll never be any cast-iron evidence to either support this as authentic or prove it as fake. To date, the best analyses of this film weigh more heavily towards it not being a man in a suit than it being a hoax, and that's irrefutable. Barring the possibility that there is some heavy-duty proof waiting to be discovered that seriously suggests fakery, I'd therefore have to say that I think this film is authentic and shows something pretty amazing.

  • I'll continue to say this every time I see a post that says it's a guy in a suit - please feel free to do some actual investigation into how a person could fit the proportions of this "costume". If you do so successfully I know I would be happy to entertain your contribution. Having done examinations of proportions myself I can honestly say that I am prepared that you cannot do it.

  • I'd like to add:

I'm 6'6", 320 lbs., and have size 16 feet. If someone had me dress up in an 'ape' suit, I would look like a big guy in an ape suit. The creature in the PG footage doesn't.

Also, I don't leave deep foot prints unless it's in mud, or snow; otherwise, it's rare for me to leave such a remarkable trail.

I agree, sonofawindowdresser: I don't think it can be done.

  • damn ur right

im 6'8", 290 ilbs, and size 14 feet. but i could never leave such footprints in the ground like that! a sasquatch would have to be...according to what patterson/gimlin described, like 9ft tall, and at least 400ilbs. i guess thats an accurate estimate?

  • the NASI Report, that you can find on my page(good reading), puts her at 7' 3-1/2" above the ground and almost a ton! I believe it said 1953lbs. if I recall correctly, but most people put her in the 500 to 1200lb. range, who knows?? Thanks for tuning in.

  • hijodeputa8, actually, the best estimates have it between 6'6" and 7'2" tall; and upward of 400 lbs.

Aside from the only points of reference in the film (trees, rocks, etc...), to estimate the size they used the depth of impression of each footprint; as well as the distance from toe to heel between prints.

    [blimey! you're only size 14? lucky !@#$!]

    ;)

  • There is a clip on Youtube that shows Patterson getting in behind her, and for a few seconds on the film you can see her trail. Bob Titmus cast her prints a few days later and discovered impact ridges and depth indicating great weight. He also found traces of plaster in prints that Patterson didn't cast, indicating that someone else was interested in her trail as well...

  • With your permission I would like to use this argument in the future when possible,..I will credit you with the advent .

  • Quick's a guy in a suit.

  • Haha a voice box narrator, thats cool. It hasnt been confirmed a hoax that's bull s@@@. For every scientist that says it's a hoax there's one who says its real. Same story with UFO's. Noone knows for sure or we wouldn't be talking about these things. Most ppl are just very close-minded and make up their minds without reading or seeing any evidence. Unless you've investigated every case in an unbiased manner you can't say.

  • if every scientist has said it was a hoax then why do they say that there is muscle under is hair? its REAL!

  • Most people haven't seen a clear enough copy of the footage; not even on TV. The quality of most copies on the Net is substandard, too. I was fortunate enough to be present when Rene Dahinden showed what he claimed to be a 2nd generation copy at a presentation. Granted, I paid a nominal fee ($5.00), but the quality of the footage was enough to persuade me of it's authenticity.

Since he owned the original, I had little reason to doubt him.

  • Good to see Stephen Hawking getting some voiceover work.

  • Not

  • Ur wrong buddy it hasn't been proved by anyone.

  • This video is fucking Real... the of the only real ones... no one can walk like that and no one is that tall..

  • It's not been confirmed as a hoax at all. The attempts to debunk the film are more easily debunked than the film itself.

  • Not ONE scientific study of the PG footage has ever resulted in it being dismissed as a hoax. The majority have resulted in growing calls for serious research into the Sasquatch, while some have simply stated that it's inconclusive.

The only people who have claimed it was a hoax were those who cashed in on their 15 minutes of fame.

  • Who confirmed it,..because as best as I can tell it is still being studied...we dont continue to study confirmed hoaxes Einstein.

  • Thanks for posting up a number of different 'bigfoot' vids, interesting stuff, much appreciated
