  • when i was a kid i alwasy tried to swim like the Man from Atlantis... ;-)

  • Godness can you get this on DVD?

  • show needed a midget

  • ALLEN FUDGE, I love it!

  • Yes, the show was cheesy, but I liked it anyway =^.^=

  • ha fish boy rules lol

  • Fond memories.

  • @barnyboot I agree. I just wanked to her.

  • Now this brings back some old memories. I was really young when I used to watch this show but I still got it and loved it. I remember wishing how cool it would be to be able to swim like that.

  • Thanks for the post zabadazidit.

This is a clip that i saw last when i was little kid.

Loved it, did not know he survived from Atlantis. Just read it above.

  • Win! Total cheese. I think I hate this. I clicked like for the good post.

  • @TVsDangerJoel: Well, thanks...I think. ;-)

  • i remember this show..god i had to be about 6 or 7...thanks for the post...the show sucked but it brought back memories..i think everybody tried to swim like that...lol

  • I watched just about every sci-fi/fantasy/adventure-type tv show as a kid in the 70s, but I can honestly say I never liked this one very much.

  • why would webbed hands help him swim like that?

  • I was always swimming at school (we had a requirement), and constantly tried to swim like Pat Duffy. It was pretty sad. So glad to see this post.

  • Belinda Montgomery was a milf

  • I wonder who's the faster swimmer...

the Man from Atlantis or Kayne.

  • This takes me back. Thanks for the post

  • the day after it aired, we had swimming class at school, my classmates freaked out when i swam a length of the pool underwater like TMFA. I went on to be the fastest front crawl and longest underwater swimmer in our school, all thanks to the inspiration of Mr Duffy!

  • Why have I nver heard of this??? I am into underwater stuff and I think I have seen every Sea Hunt and Flipper episode

  • No man's look better matched his name than ALAN FUDGE.

  • His willy must shrink a lot in the water.

  • Remember this show as a kid, i read that It's coming on Dvd on July. 26.

  • Loved the pilot but it got naff after that. No wonder it didn't survive. May be handled better nowadays

  • Here in Brasil, this show was called THE MAN FROM THE DEEP OF THE SEA.

  • I remember trying to swim like the man from atlantis when i was 7

  • @repboy1

Me too. Hot pool lifeguards were probably giggling.

  • this show is well liked in britian along with cagney and lacy.

  • I remember this, and watching an episode with a Bid Jellyfish.

  • Hey look...it's skuzzlebutt's leg!

  • who composed this? this was among the best TV themes of all time. awesome musical piece

  • @incdogrobber It was Fred Karlin, who had a very long history of being a TV Movie composer. It is beautiful, I bought a great version on Itunes that plays slower with violins and is then re-mixed more dramatically by Austin Wintory.

  • cool

  • I read an interview with Duffy where he described the experiences:

    - couldn't see with the contact lenses but they apparently hurt like hell

    - got some serious back-pain from the swimming

    - had to inhale (!) water so that no air-bubbles where visible - later they made him talk (!!) under water, making things worst.

Got to admire the dedication ... :)

  • @fenriz218 Yeah, if you watch the Mike Douglas interview on the left (it's 3 short parts) he explains the pain staking process of making the lenses. They had to Novocaine his eyes and hold it open while they poured plastic on it to get a proper mold. arr! And he mentions you could get a lot of inner-ear infections (those are the worst!)

  • I remember this show. I watched all one episode of it.

  • There is a whole generation of people that swam like this as kids because of this show.

  • @UncleDeluxe LOL, Man you have no idea how TRUE your statement is.. Swimming club was never the same.

  • @UncleDeluxe includin' ME. I passed several swim tests including scuba dive training because of this.

  • @UncleDeluxe i was one of them ha ha....

  • He looks like bill bixby lol

  • I remember my sister loved this show when we were children. I reckon it was the crush people get on Patrick Duffy.

  • I kinda remember that Old West episode : there was like another Man From Atlantis, like a double, but had only the remnants of the webs on his hands and he had no idea why he felt so good when he was in the water (he didn't need it as much as the real Mark), he was kinda a bad guy, he even hit on Elizabeth once.

  • This was my show. I think Patrick Duffy is the first white guy I ever had a crush on. :)

  • wow, Man From Atlantis

    Patrick Duffy's first t.v. role

  • I liked this show alot as a kid! (Undersea adventures, aliens & alot of good-ol'-fashion fight scenes!) Pretty bumed when they canceled it! But the one I REALLY missed, was the equally cheesy searies based on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! Staring Jose Ferrer as a cryogenically frozen (and revived) Capt. Nemo & Burgess Merideth as 'the villian'!

  • I remember the episode where he swam into this cave and when he came up it was inside a well in this old western like town. It was either a secret world or another dimension I don't remember now but the owner of the well was Kareem Abdul Jabar and the two of them fought.

  • @macclan1972 Wow !! I was thinking the same episode !!

  • @macclan1972

I think that's the episode I remember. The only memory I have from this show is where he is locked up in a jail in an old western town and he is very weak and tired, has no energy. Then the guard comes with the power hose, and starts to hose him down in the cell with a powerful jet stream of water. The guard hopes to clean and hurt him at the same time, but of course the water rejuvenates him and gives him back his power and strength and he proceeds to kick some behind!

  • @louthebody: Who said that Duffy swam like a queer? Nobody in this thread...

  • @louthebody humpin the water back them was taboo hahahahhaha

  • @louthebody LMFAO!!!!

  • That frame with Duffy emerges from the water looks kinda creepy

  • I watched this too when i was young...if they put it on dvd i would buy it

  • Back in the days when television producers had something called "IMAGINATION". Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Then only show I ever liked Duffy in. I watched it all the time.

  • i wish i could go back to the time i was really into this, i could've sworn i was developing webbed hands and feet as a child after every episode i watched.

I didn't take much of the plot in but it was great eye candy for a kids imagination

  • My 8 year old son absolutely loves swimming, so when we go to a pool, he swims like a fish and he's constantly under the water, so my husband and I call him "The Man from Atlantis" but when we call him this, he just looks at us totally confused and says "What's Atlantis?" so I'll have to show him this clip and then he'll understand.

  • I remember the very last episode, like the season finale. He just ended up walking towards the sea after saying goodbye to his friends. I miss shows like these.

  • I've been haunted by this music for over 30years, wondering what it was.

    THANK YOU for posting this!

  • This was a great show.

And I've always wondered if Belinda J. Montgomery was related Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched.

Maybe sisters as they both kind of look alike to a certain extent as well.

  • lol...like sardine man..

  • Who's got the best fudge? ALAN FUDGE!

  • been looking for this show for ever, thought the shows name was aquaman for some reason.

  • remember this as a 6 year old kid watching this tv show... wow...amazing...

  • How many people remember this? Anyone remember that Belinda J. Montgomery was Elizabeth Montgomery's daughter? I loved this show!

  • @Dirana1 oh yeah grew up with this show.......

  • How many people actually remember this show???? I do, and I fell in love with Patrick Duffy and 'Samantha Stevens' daughter Belinda!

  • im related to patrick duffy i think hes my dads third or second cuz my name is patrick duffy too

  • im related to patrick duffy i think hes my dads third or second cuz my name is patrick duffy too

  • im related to patrick duffy i think hes my dads third or second cuz

  • Wow! I remember this.

Good scifi show: simple premise, intelligently done, well acted by Duffy. One really felt the mystery and alienness of the main character.

  • I remember this when I was a kid.....

  • OMG I used to watch it when I was 5 years old, I even still remember the music, all Egyptians used to stay home to watch it

  • recontra chesu al fin t encontré

  • I remember watching this in 1977. I was 11 at the time. They should put this on DVD.

  • Well, just can create your own dvd then to watch all episodes of Man from Atlantis on your TV. Just google "man from atlantis filespump". There you will find all episodes in full length.

  • Thank you for the tip! I'll look into that.

  • Use the non peak hours (internet traffic) to download it, otherwise it is not rapid- but "slow"share. The pilot and the episode 05 are a good start to watch it. The password to open the downloaded files with for instance winrar is "forumworg" actually, just put a dot between forumw and the last 3 letters of the password)

  • I want to THANK YOU for all the help you gave me. It was a big plus ++++. I used the password and it got me in. I downloaded a couple of episodes today. I was a fan of the show back then.

  • @jeff1969z

Hi, i downloaded the file, but could not open it,and it not ask the password...where you use the password? how can i open it? could you tell?

  • @rikuinn2007 That's strange, I never came across that situation. Everytime I downloaded, it always ask for the password before the files can be opened.

  • @rikuinn2007 Did you use the program WINRAR to open the rar-file? The password is requested right when you click on the file.

  • @jeff1969z this comes out on dvd next week

  • @jeff1969z they are thanks to warner archive

  • @jeff1969z - they have. it's available at Amazon

  • @jeff1969z

I was around the same age. And I am ashamed to admit that I tried to swim kike pat Duffy in my backyard pool. The girl next door saw me and laughed her ass off. I retired red faced to the back porch.

As corny as it looks now this type of TV is 10034 times better than the excrement that passes for entertainment on TV today...

  • I use to love this when I was young and I had a crush on Patrick Duffy when this was on TV. This was before he was Bobby Ewing.

  • @sunshinemags me too!!!!!!!rsrsrsrsrs.......

  • WOW i watched this as a kid. Well now It looks like sardine man

  • That's what Mrs. Duffy said! ;-)

  • Ya at that time the world was kinda ancient you might say, Mobile phones, satellite tv,computers, the internet... I couldn't dream of any such thing. The world has advanced and it makes you laugh when you see these old tv shows where technology and gadgetry play a lead.

  • @jalexrosh ... LOL!!! you really made me laugh with this!!! I feel the same!

  • @1antmon Hahaha

  • Cetááácea!!!!!!!

    Gyermekkorunk lexebb dóóógai!

    Bobijúing ottan b**a a rezet!

  • ÁÁÁÁÁ Tesó. Ne máár! Cetácea! :) Kész vagyok teljesen! :) Gabe
