Gorillaz is only 2-D, Murdoc and Noodle for me, there is no place for rappers and rap influenced characters like Russel
This band should never have mixed with rap music, it destroys the groove and ambiant electronic side of their music
Little Dragon should have made the entire album "Plastic Beach" with Gorillaz in place of all rappers
Miho Hatori and Yukimi Nagano (from Little Dragon) should be the only songstresses for Noodle, japanese girls are the only ones to dub japanese characters
@VashJohnny you are closeminded. Remember clint eastwood? The hit that put them on the map? The song wouldn't be nearly as good if there was no rap to it. It'd just be instrumentals. Same thing for Feel good inc. The fact that Gorillaz are very diverse with their music are the reason they appeal to audiences of different kinds. And a WHOLE album with little dragon would honestly be very boring. And the last part about only japanese can dub japnese characters.okay that just proves your closeminded
I love snoop, hes so old now but...like seriously he was the shit (moreso) when i was little and i know when i have kids hes still gonna be around to make music, he will be like...70ish by then but hell hes snoop dogg, shit....gonna be smokin on his death bed
I have a feeling, just like they did with Mos Def as seen in the Plastic Beach Experience DVD, that Gorillaz were going through a few samples with with The Big Boss Dogg and Snoop probably loved the Donca-Brass. That's just me. Either way, I'm completely loving whatever the hell they did that night to come up with another beautiful and mainly Gorillaz sounding track!
Thumbs up if you want to see a video in which Snoop Dogg & Gorillaz do an animated video with 2D, Murdoc, Russel & Noodle are in (Yes I am aware Noodle & Russel where "missing") and continue the story for bot Gorillaz & add Snoop in to the mix.
@RandBMuiscSupplement snoop isn't a gorilla! he's a dog ._. still that would be awesome if we'd see him with them more with the rillaz in rl and animated
Hey, I'm not a huge fan of Snoop either, but you have to admit that his working with Gorillaz may help them get back into the limelight.
I also admit to not caring for Bobby Womack, but I don't go around calling him a piece of shit. I acknowledge that he has talent and some people like him. We're all entitled to opinions.
It's great to see Gorillaz active again, but Snoop Dogg... I never expected them to colab' with him. Don't get me wrong, he played his part well in the song, but, I don't think he really, actually "gets" Gorillaz... and he's just saying the stuff in this video to credit himself on how "bad" he is... Eh, well, that's what I think, anyways...
Umm I was completely sober and I understood Snoop. I do smoke, but I have been sober for the past 4 days because of business, and this wasnt confusing to me.
"The Gorillaz and I had fun working on music together at their studio in London, England. The track was easy to get into, laid back and fun. Which is my kind of music, and I don't care what people say otherwise, because there's always going to be people that agree or disagree and THAT my friends is 'Sumthin Like This Night'."
@MisterBankz All he's saying is that the "track" is making him rap the way he did and" whatever the track did he just got behind it." He doesn't seem like he wants to take any responsibility or any creative risk for the lyrics.
Then he feels that he needs to say he doesn't care what people think about him making the track. As if making a track with Gorillaz would somehow make him seem less cool.
But maybe I'm just misinterpreting what he's saying.
@TheBridgeCrosser I think you're misinterpreting. He said he didn't care whether people like it or not because he doesn't have anybody to please I'm sure that doesn't have anything to do with him working with Gorillaz. He doesn't need to make a big about working with Gorillaz, especially since it's not the first time he's worked with them & he's working with a bunch of other names. & why would he be embarrassed about working with the Gorillaz, they're pretty respected in the hip hop.
@DiscoStorm & PATDMick I think both Demon Days and Plastic Beach were both good albums. Demon Days had Dirty Harry, Feel Good Inc., Dare, Kids with Guns. Plastic Beach had Stylo, Rhinestone Eyes, Superfast Jellyfish, Pirate Jet. EAch album had amazing songs. Let's agree both albums are good.
@Alexvision07 gorillaz weren't the same in either album. They evolve. True fans would know that their debut album and Demon Days have nothing alike and would understand that their sound never stays the same. Plastic Beach was their hip hop album. And admittedly the first listen to it wasn't any good I was disappointed. But after listening to it for like 4 or 5 more times during that week, it grew on me. It's not my favorite album, but it's not bad either.
i wonder what Tupac would think of this. you know, he wanted this sort of thing for his own life--for people to look at him and compare him to his past saying, "remember when he was all mean and tough?" :P
Is it wrong that I watch this whenever I feel sad?
