My favorite Shostakovich waltz! I like this orchestration more.

I go to the Armadale City Concert Band and we played this song, in fact we played the whole Ballet Suite. Too bad we didn't have a celesta though so I had to play that part on keyboard and play the piano parts on a proper piano. Also to top it all off, there was a timpani player, a drums player and a triangle and tambourine player but I was the only one to play xylophone and piano so I had to run between the two and it was a pain! By the way, do you like the other movements in the suite as well?

It has! In the Bolshoi's "The Bright Stream". I didn't get to see it, but friends said it was wonderfully funny, and that the music was used very well. It is the Bolshoi's homage to Shostakovich.

My studio once did a dance to this in our circus ballet, so yes, and I'm sure there are professional ballet companies that have choreographed to it too.
