this is wonderful nearly 42 yrs later..esp jims giggle... not the laugh that became ernies trademark. which i do love. god bless jim henson and frank oz. i love u bert and ernie
its so weird that this is so old now we see like katie perry and adm sandler on sesame street i wish that sesame street would have never lost its groove you know what i mean like these are all awesome puppets and cookie monster who ever thought of veggie monster is HUGE JERK!!!!!
Bert is wrong about what kids didn't want to see on the show. On Nov 1969. Ernie was tried to say what kids and parents will like about the show. Aw... what memories for me and others. As I still the show today and always will. Gee I sesame street old school from the 80s. Wish that my other TV shows didn't have any commercials.Just one or two at the most does anyone agree?
@1legomaster It was 1969. *cough* Children's television show in 1969. Think of the other prominent childrem shows of the time... mostly cartoons with violence (i.e. the Looney Tunes).
Bert and Ernie get along great here. It's amazing that how 40 years of working along side each other has deteriorated their relationship. Last I heard, they have separate dressing rooms and don't even think of speaking together off camera. I think a lot of it has to do with Bert's inability to maintain stable relationships with other puppets. Ernie's still a little pissed about when Bert F**ked him out of a whole bunch of money on a joint venture involving something with a pigeon farm.
I love that part too, especially when Bert suggests "dancing", and you can hear Jim giggle a little bit at 1:12 when he tries to make Ernie say "No Bert," LOL

Jim dies, and then Frank leaves the show :( He admits that his real life is to be a director.
Seriously, Frank, you should have told Jim you never really wanted to work with him.

Bert is wrong about many things here. For one, companies DO sponsor Sesame Street, and you're never too old for Sesame Street. Anyone agree with me?

This is a gem, truly.

Heh heh. Even in the beginning, Ernie was Ernie and Bert was Bert.
