  • Don't buy it people... The cymbals feel like shit. There aren't any decent Rock/Metal kits or sounds. The module is way too big for what it should be.... It feels like your kicking a brick wall when you're using the bass.... The pads have a completely unrealistic feel.... To much rebound from the pads..... And that was from 5 minutes of using it myself.

  • @Cr4nium13 you are right but not at all....i have an alesis dm 10 studio kit,,and i rearranged whole the pads inside....if you want to obtain an good sound for the cymbals, use a ride cymbal up 2 or 3 half tones at second layer....

  • @MRmesmetin Yeah but most people just want to plug and play not configure a load of stuff?

  • Is the toms accoustic or electric if they are accoustic do they dent a lot pls tell me

  • @ridiculous178 This is an electronic drum set. All the pads are electronic.

Whether it dents depends on what you play. This kit uses real drum heads, so you can have a rough estimate. If you play heavy metal of course it'll dent. If you play stuff like jazz it won't dent so much so quickly obviously. Unless you play jazz with marching sticks and play without dynamics.

  • What age is this suitible because I'm 12

  • @ridiculous178 Er, any age is suitable for drumming? Unless you're like younger than 3. And any drum set is the same, unless you're looking at the lower end Roland rip-offs. Rock band sized bullshit, the TD4 series. Don't even let me start on the HD-1. Pure garbage.

  • Yamaha DTX and Roland V-Drums too expensive, but not worth so much more.

Where appropriate, hit the 8 inch toms too ;)

The most important a DM10 sound module, its fantastic! :)

  • Nice

  • Man, the sound of this is so crystal clear. I think I may have found the first electronic set that I want to purchase.

  • @BigJimmy1971 :DM10 Studio kit is 820 euro DM10 X Kit is more expencive. Difference between the two kits: DM10 X kit has 12" and 10" toms, DM10 Studio kit has 10" and 8" toms. I own a DM10 X and can tell you that Yamaha, Roland and others better can go knitting, this set beats them in every way!

  • @Denus01 :PerformancePad or SamplePad you really don't need, you can believe me.

  • @awesa yes it does... also stuff like eq and compression:)

  • Does the sound module have built in fx ie. reverb, perhaps delay etc?

  • how much does this cost?

  • woow very cool kit, very nice price

  • WOW...I want it! :)

This kit are about 820 euro in Hungary...I buy one I think :)

  • This set seems to be more complete than the Roland TD12 set I bought two years ago.

And for a far more reasonable price (1099 euro instead of the approx 3500 euro for my Roland)

Add the Alesis SamplePad or PerformancePad Pro to this set, and you got yourself a dream kit!

  • I know this is shit, but I still want it0.o

  • its good to see brad pit playing drums.

  • jst got it !! loving it .........:)

  • is there only 1 video available for for dm10 x :S ! I can't find any other

  • @TheDoomDrums The toms actualy feel like....toms... Its a standard drumhead, you can replace it with any head you want. Allso like a conventional drum head you can " tune" mechanicaly. Offcourse without affecting sound. At your desire you can adjust from "wet carton box" to ultra tight picolo snare, with very very good stick bouncing response.

  • Haha can't wait to get this set :D. Gonna order it on friday from thomann :3

  • how do the toms actually feel, with better like the white tom heads roland uses or these?

  • Some details: sensitivity of a tom(and any other trigger source) is fully tunable and can be exactly adjusted for your needs. The dynamic of a stroke is adjustable too, however I have to say that the standard dynamics are very ok. Both of these two details are crucial for a good response to ghost notes, paradidles, triplets, accents etc. This DM10 X set does this so well, delightfull delightfull delightfull.

  • I got my Alesis DM10 X kit since two days. I m a (semi pro) drummer for 30 years now, I am a late starter, started drumming at 18 ( ye i am an old toad 48y hahaha) Buying this set whas quiet a gamble, never played it at a store. Setting upmthe set I have used tiewraps instead of the velcro straps in the package. Next, testimg the set.... And imediate I made the descision to never ever play on a real drumkit in future again. This machine is pure delight, and NO I am NOT a Alesis guy, have Alesis

  • when the alesis heads get worn down can you replace them with normal drumheads?, lets say Evans Onyx for the Toms, Remo CS reverse Dot for the snare and Remo Powerstroke 3 for the Bass

  • @DailyBeat97 Ofcourse:D.. You might wanna use coated heads :D:D:D:D

  • Does this take forever to set up or is it plug and play?

  • @anthony0803 well i heard that the dm10 studio kit takes a while to set up and i quess this does too :D.. but the instructions are simple and it'll be worth it ;D

  • @anthony0803 Yes please answer that people!!!

  • my god at the polish on those heads XD

  • Doesnt the HiHat give an unnatural feel because when you have the hihat pedal down, the Pad is still kinda "loose" ? or can you tight that up? also, does the bassdrum-pad have enough stability to take an twinpedal?

  • @Whaatuuup Yeah, you can tighten it :D. and use a double pedal :DD

  • @Whaatuuup There is no hi hat its closed/open on how hard you hit it

  • @BurnOfTheBlizzard or is there?

  • @BurnOfTheBlizzard Actually there is a hihat pedal u idiot...look at this and go down to what it comes with and you will see a REAL HAT PEDAL which is the hihat pedal

  • Are the 2 14" crashes dual zone or just single? Or does it share the same configuration as the pro kit and only 1 crash is dual?

  • Comment removed

  • Just a noob question, If i want to put a new bass drum so i can have double bass, would it be possible? Thansk in advance

  • @boylinger easier solution: to use a double pedal to play the kick pad.

  • @boylinger why do that if you can just get a kick pedal thats double?

  • @boylinger you can get a 2nd kick drum pad and plug it in. The best way to do that is to get a Y adapter with 2 female quarter inch inputs and 1 male quarter inch output. With that, both pads will be plugged into the same input and you only have to set kick drum parameters once. If you plug the 2nd kick into an empty input, you'll have to match all of the kick drum parameters twice, and that's a LOT of paramters! The single pad fits 2 beaters though, so I recommend a nice double pedal.

  • That sounds awesome! Now I'm sure about getting this over the dm10 studio... Those bigger pads, nice rack and the snare on it's own stand convinced me :D.

  • @JuMaLaUtA96 I was just gonna ask what's the difference between the studio and the X and you've already answered them for me. Thanks... the rack looks nicer and more stable too.

  • ya what advantages does this have over the dm10 pro dm10 etc etc? i need acurate midi control for maschine/uk bass music style. whats practical?

  • When will this be available? Sweetwater says they don't have an ETA.

  • @elvezrulz 1st November

  • I already ordered this kit. The advantages over roland and yamaha are plentiful. No. 1, if you ever want to be able to transition back to your acoustic, this kit has acoustic heads, the feeling is closer than you will get with that mesh crap or the rubber yamahas (even the new tcs)

  • For that price......... Roland TD9.... absolutely......... Alesis folks need to think on the price range because the actual DM10 is very price competitive!

  • Ben Marino is a BEAST on drums!!!

  • @unoriginalson Nathan Navarro is a BEAST on bass!!!

  • I wonder... Why 1600USD?! Heck just because it has bigger pads?! Well... DM8 Pro have them and it costs half the price. With that value, i would buy or a Rolland, or a DDT Custom

  • Can you tweak the snare and other drum pitches? How about effects on each pad/cymbal?

For instance if I wanted to have a hi-pitched basic fat snare, shorten the decay AND add a gated reverb, then do the same even for the HiHat, maybe just a low pitched short decay sound, big reverb on the toms... etc.

I'd love to see that and a SAMPLER built into the drum brain.

Thats really all I would need and I can see you may just have nailed drum sensitivity for Jazz and rolls, etc. Hot.

    - Gary

  • @wendileona You can do everything you just listed.

  • If this set its about 1600 or more than 1200USD, many people will preffer buying a Roland or Yamaha Set ... just saying.
