Same thing happened to this as what happened to DBZ, took an amazing anime, tried to make a movie which had so much potential and took shitty actors and put absolutely no money into it at all, except with DBZ the story line was eve terrible.
Seriously they should re make this movie with asians. Oh and Zuko should be hot, and the fire lord should look evil,They shouldn't skip the essential's either. That's what made the anime so great. It was in depth and an utter thrill to watch.I suggest that Alex Frost play Zuko, and nobody. II repeat, NOBODY from the cast of Twilight should be in it. Lol, I saw this movie a few months ago when it originally came out, and being a huge fan of the original TV series, I almost started crying it was so awful. The acting, special effects, story, cast and pretty much everything you can imagine is so awful, it reminded me of my 8 year-old sisters school play, which I must say I enjoyed more.

I actually kinda enjoyed this movie. I think they did a some-what good job. The acting was alright, def. seen worse, the effects good and believeble, the acting, was totally okay but I think they could have gotten the characters alittle more in shape. I really don't see why people are hating on this one, and I can't find a smart explenation in this comment box on it either. Since comment such as "He's supposed the be asian" are just ridiculous. The cartoon was much better though.

The beef this movie is getting for apparently "Skimming out on the asian actors" I think It actually makes some sense (although i'm not happy with the acting.) The story kinda seems to be set in asia. If u look at some of the credits there's chinese writing. India is part of asia, and I actually liked that the fire nation was that. I was thinking some Tibetan, mayalsian, chinese, japanese influence would be more present in this movie! I also though Aang would be tibetan.. might be his clothing.

@sharks445 because in comparison to the series the first movie fucking sucked hairy balls. to much was left out or wasn´t explained good enough. the acting sucked, there was hardly any real emotion, Aang wasn´t even called by his name, in the series he transforms into a water karp and smashes the ships of the fire nation, the kyoshi warriors weren´t shown at all and it goes on and on and on.
The Last Airbender is the worst thing that happened since Justin Bieber.

I loved this movie - it was awesome and I don't know why nobody likes it. I so much hope they end up making the whole trilogy. I don't know what everyone's problem is. And everyone know's those razzies are just a fat waste of time. How does Sandra Bullock win a razzie for worst actress and an oscar for best actress in the same week? Sounds like a crock to me - razzies are just a bunch of jealous people wasting time and money. WHATEVA!

I actually kinda enjoyed this movie. I think they did a some-what good job. The acting was alright, def. seen worse, the effects good and believeble, the acting, was totally okay but I think they could have gotten the characters alittle more in shape. I really don't see why people are hating on this one, and I can't find a smart explenation in this comment box on it either. Since comment such as "He's supposed the be asian" are just ridiculous. The cartoon was much better though.

@sjuttioelva uhhh, the acting's not a part of why i hate it. it's the way they changed the characters and the story a bit.. they were suppose to be worrying about training ang yes.. but they didn't go around trying to create a "rebellious" in the anime.. and the characters in the movie are too boring.. sokka was suppose to be clumsy and funny.. katara was suppose to act serious yet funny while at it.. and ang is supposed to act sad for 10 mins and be a kid and have fun for the rest of the movie

@anhxhoang Yes ofc! I do agree with you, but if Sokka would be as cheesy and hilarious as in the animie i think it would look like a bad American Pie movie, if I can be honest. If you weren't a fan of the show and just wtached the movie it would suck. And the same for the rest of the characters. And the story, its hard to get into a 5(?) books into a movie, although they only showed us like a 3rd. I do agree with you, i dont like the movie as much as in the book and they did remove alot of thing

@anhxhoang alot of things, but for people who haven't read the books or seen the show, it was way better (I think) My mom watched it with me and she haven't seen the show or anything and she thought it was really good. My point is that if Sokka was as goofy and Aang as childish it wouldn't be taken serious, since this movie was more aimed to teenagers and up, and the show for kids (Well no heck no I watch it anyways!) But But i dont want to hate on the movie, they did a great job

this film was pretty awful indeed. i expected more than just a crap rendition of the series we've already seen, we know whats coming already!! why not take some time and come up with an interesting action packed follow on story? would of been more worthwhile for mike and bryan. also i must say the casting is atrocious, especially with zuko! i mean cmon he's meant to be some sexy badass intimidating guy and all you get is dev patel!! and i thought they were suppsed to have pale skin??

The beef this movie is getting for apparently "Skimming out on the asian actors" I think It actually makes some sense (although i'm not happy with the acting.) The story kinda seems to be set in asia. If u look at some of the credits there's chinese writing. India is part of asia, and I actually liked that the fire nation was that. I was thinking some Tibetan, mayalsian, chinese, japanese influence would be more present in this movie! I also though Aang would be tibetan.. might be his clothing.
