  • @mherbert Thank you for your comment and the information. Enjoy.

  • Man, I love this stuff. I love your channel.

  • @algentry1 Thank you for your comments and interest. Glad to hear you are enjoying my videos. Enjoy.

  • @KeniLeeBurgess

I called Frank@Republic this morning, and asked him to mention to you that you sold another Republic Guitar for him. Then I proceeded to buy a guitar over the phone. I now have a tracking number, and I bought a highway 61 travel size. (guitar number 6103 on the Republic site) Thanks for making all this information available. Can't wait. Yes I can. I called him back and asked about your CDs, and he included one.

I'll go stand by the road now, and look for UPS. Al

  • @algentry1 Thank you. You are going to enjoy the Highway 61. It is definitely a sweet little guitar. Please feel free to contact me if any questions arise as you work through the lessons. I greatly appreciate your interest and support. Enjoy.

  • Sweeeet as sugar. Sounds great Kenni.

  • @Graiskye Thank you for your comment. Happy New Year 2011. Enjoy.

  • Hot damn! That's GREAT! Did you make that guitar yourself?

  • @rogerstill71 Thank you for your comment. I am strictly a player, not a builder. My friend, James Millinchuk, who is a professional guitar builder made it for me. Enjoy.

  • done effortlessly love it :)

  • Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy.

  • That's perfect.

  • Thank you. That is mighty kind of you. Happy Holidays. Enjoy

  • Authentic and great slide playing. P - town is a great place too.

  • Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy.

  • My pleasure. Enjoy.

  • Vestapol tuning 151351 is commonly played in the Key of D. DADf#ad. Depending how my voice is feeling, I will usually tune down a full step to the Key of C CGCegc. The relationship between the strings stay the same but the pitch is lower. Thank you for your support. Enjoy.

  • Thank you. Well, I can't make any promises, but I certainly will entertain your request. What would you like me to teach? If you are interested in learning this style, please consider purchasing my instructional video CDs that are for sale on ebay. Search: Keni Lee They not only will teach you songs, but give you the foundational information necessary to figure out songs or make your own arrangements. Enjoy.

  • I really enjoyed this one KennyLee, a great tribute too Huddy. Atmospheric when sung out of doors just as Huddy would have done. You have a great prescence, a good voice and a terrific guitar talent. Thanks again.

  • Thank you again for the nice comments and words of encouragement. I enjoy playing on the street. I really like the interaction with the audience. Real good venue P-town, Enjoy.

  • did u make that guitar

  • This guitar was made by my friend, Jimmy using old parts from my rebuilt National Duolian and a large retail cigar box I bought on ebay. Please see my other videos, there is a video detailing this guitar. Thank you for your interest. Happy Holidays! Enjoy.

  • too bad he can't sing :)

  • Thank you for your opinion. Are you a professional singer? I did not see any videos on your page. I am learning to sing better everyday. Happy Holidays. Enjoy. :)

  • myabe you just need to listen harder and you will hear all the fealings and emotions he puts in his singing. Blues isnt about how good you can sing its all about the emotion you convey through your singing!!!

  • this comment was directed to Syzygy60

  • I havent figured out this coment system for youtube yet. I just want to make it clear my singing comment was directed to Syzygy60's comment about Keni not being able to sing.

  • Thank you for your comment. Personally, I always comment, be it positive or negative, with a constructive intension. Many viewers do not realize a page owner can very easily block commenters, and remove their comments. So, I don't waste my time with purely insulting comments. In addition, I have found most insults come from Youtubers with blank pages. I like to spend my time learning. Don't mind the Bullocks! Enjoy.

  • the rock island line is a might "good" road, not fine

  • Thank you for the correct. Many times I let the lyrics change to fit. I try to express the spirit of the song.

  • Fantastic sound in this homebuild "Bo Diddley Dobro".

B.t.w., Huddy Ledbetter performed most of the time on a 12-string guitar.

  • Thank you. Yes, Leadbelly played a Stella 12 string. They are worth a lot of money, if you can find one. Personally, for the style I play in Open tunings, I find the twelve string's sound with all those overtones a little too much for me. Besides, I don't want to spend all that extra time tuning strings. lol. Happy Holidays! Enjoy.

  • great take on one of my favorite Leadbelly songs. I also agree that Rock Island Line probably refers to the Underground Railroad. Huddie had very progressive politics, friends with Woody Guthrie.

I just love your music. Heck I even bought a CD of yours. I am looking forward to more of your videos.

  • Thank you for your comments, and supporting my efforts by purchasing one of my CDs. It is viewers like you, who are really helping me out. So, thanks again. I will be posting some new videos soon. Please stay tuned. Enjoy.

  • Great as always!

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • You are a hero =)

  • Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • wow...that was great.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • hi keni lee cool vid as usual what u tunned to 4 this classic.plz

  • Thank you. I'm tuned to Vestapol Key of C (CGCegc).

  • Too cool, I wish I would have been there to hear the whole gig!!!!

  • Thank you. I have two other videos from vacation that I will post.

  • Great as always Kenlee.....I love the johnny Cash version of that song too.......BTW you need some sun on them legs my brother.LOL

  • Thank you Big Frank. Nice to hear from you. I never heard the Johnny Cash version, but Mr. Cash is great in my book. FYI: I'm English...white and paste-y is my natural shade. There is not a lot of sun down on the subway platforms or at home in the picking parlor. lol.

  • Awesome!

  • Thank you.

  • The thing I liked most here was about midway through when you suddenly seemed all relaxed and having fun with the singing. That made a difference.

  • Thank you. You know, it is funny when I look at the video, I certainly sometimes make some very serious faces, but actually I'm very relaxed during this song. From a production stand point, I'm concern myself more about the audio than the video. My physical performance needs works. That's what makes it a never ending study. Thanks for your insights.

  • his name is John Butler, and he gives some lessons too, i think in open D.

    Type: John Butler Guitar Lessons

we want to hear your opinions!!

    bye bye

  • I've watched John Butler on Youtube. Very impressive. Real good stuff. Top shelf!

  • By the way, have your ever heard something about the australian slide players?? i don´t know if there is any tradition there too, but i´ve already heard many guys who rock on the slide too!! I´m sure that at leats, they wore influenced by the good ol´blues.

Take a look when you have some free time, it´s pop and hippie music till the bones, but is nice and groovy!

  • Yes, like England, Australia also has a big Blues appreciation. I've seen many videos from "Down Under". Good Stuff. A lot of intensity.

  • Nice!

I can do a lot of good stuff when i´am on my own in my living room, but i´m not sure if i can do it in front of a crowd like that!! (any tip about it? just kidding. he he he).

  • Thank you. At first I was very self-aware, and that makes it difficult because your attention is split. Bob Brozman told me when I was going on stage at a seminar, you can either get all frightened, or go out there and have a good time. He told me not to waste any computer space (my mind) worrying about what the audience thinks. Here's the best part: He said, You got to turn your "Give a Shit-er" way down!

  • 'You got to turn your "Give a Shit-er" way down!' ->

Possibly the coolest Brozman quote ever!

  • Great feel as ever Kenny, will definititley be looking at your instructional dvds. I have a couple of (very small) UK blues festivals coming up, playin dobro - you capture the spirit of the thing so nicely. One day I'll come to the states and you can show ne how it's really done, heh heh ! Best wishes.

  • Thank you. The UK has a great appreciation for the Blues. There is certainly a big Blues base across the pond, and a lot of wonderful players. My family was orginally from England. Someday, I would love to visit. It would be great to go Busking. The best thing is unlike my visit to China in 2005, I can speak the language. Thanks again.

  • Great great great!

  • Thank you my friend. I hope your enjoying your summer too.

  • Lovely stuff.Thanks.

  • Thank you.

  • What an toe tapping pleasure, KeniLee. Mine were, I just don't understand why the people sitting next to you were not groovin'. I guess they are not used to the finer things in life being free on the street. Thanks much for your great song.

  • Thank you. Well, maybe these people were not getting into it, but I met a lot of nice people who enjoyed it. Some people walking down the street started dancing. Parents were video-ing their children dancing. Many people stopped to ask what is that instrument. I had a great time just sitting in the shade and banging some chords.

  • almost as good as being there. KeniLee--glad you brought us along--thanks!:-)

    Laurieleec

  • Thank you. Of course now, I'm suffering those post-vacation Blues; back to the old grind. :(

  • I wish the street performers in glasgow were as good as you :)

The closest we have is a guy who plays reggae guitar and sings...he's awesome too.

  • Thank you. I really enjoy playing on the street. I like the interaction with the audience. There's no stage. We are all part of the show.

  • :-) Another great one

  • Thank you.

  • oh yeah, mush arai dum adoo duma daa yeah.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • great as usual! u on holiday?

  • Thank you. Yes, I just got back from a week long vacation down the shore at Provencetown, Mass. Beautiful Cape Cod. I can get a street performers permit at the Police station and just relax and play my guitar.

  • Cape Cod, huh?

Never been, but maybe we'll try visiting the place some time.

Do you ever get down to Maine?

The wife and I try to get to Bar Harbor anually in the summer.

I love staying for about a week down by the coast.

  • No, I've never been to Maine, but I bet it is lovely. For me, the best thing about Provencetown, Mass. is, I can go busking and vacation at the same time.

  • yahh nice!

  • Thank you.

  • o.k.

  • Thank you.

  • lol

  • Thank you for your comment.
