I have been teaching adult education for several years now. For the first 7 months, I was lucky enough to have well behaved students in the class then all hell broke loose in one day.Keep in mind that I had no experience with anything like this. I was given 2 students who had been permanently expelled from the public schools. The college was unsupported and I almost lost my job because of complaints from the worthy students. Now I document everything and make it a goal to rid these students.

We had students who took college classes at a local junior college in their junior/senior years and they did great there.

I think that in a university (or local college) you're there out of choice, not because you HAVE to. In college, the professors leave you to do more work on your own. They let you have more freedom, but you're expected to prove your intelligence through yout work.
