  • PRIAM SAID.... NO FATHER HAD A BETTER GAY (oh!!!!sorry)SON I WANNA SAY......SORRY MY CHILD.(hmmm! i am not. sure for that. they are from Greece not us)

Achilles,Odiseus,Leonidas,Miltiades,Themistoklis,Alexander the graet,Miaoulis,Androutsos,Diakos and many others..are our HISTORY,our LEGEND that no one else have and never will have history and country like ours that we fight for freedom for knowledge and now the try to make us nothing. We are from Greece and we will never forget it.

  • 2:20 All of a sudden it becomes /watch?v=oS8Sd8amxcU

  • Horner, what a great name for these horns!

  • Respect.

  • Besides Hans Zimmer James Horner too is a great composer.

  • @SATBArtists2010 they r my fav. they r the best

  • This is the music they chose over Gabriel Yared's? Shame!

  • @MelekBetul No they didn't choose this over Yared's, They refused Yared's score because they thought it was too "old fashioned". They fired him and hired James Horner who had only 10 days to compose an entire new score. That's why this score is not too great

  • Achilles is the first military hero of western civilization!

And only after him Alexander, Caesar, Napoleon...

  • @mphet26 Dont forget Hector! Hector is my favourite over Archilles

  • @mphet26 isent alexander related to acholles some how

  • I dont mind it sounding like some other guys music. people do this all the time in art. It may not be original but its always unique.

  • Master and Commander: Far Side of the World. Is it the same composer?

  • This music was the same for Russell Crowe's movie

  • the music from 2.20 to 3.10 is a total ripoff from lawrence of arabia omg, how can they allow horner to steal that?

  • @lanko24ify Yes I agree, I had no idea, thats y I prefer John Williams.....

  • @kendconcerto i agree with you, john williams is god:)

  • @lanko24ify link for arabia song?

  • @rawatkshitij just write lawrence of arabia theme and click the first one

  • @lanko24ify it kinda reminds me of "stargate" theme as well... but that's just me

  • @lanko24ify Can you post a link to the video showing how this is a ripoff from the 'Lawrence of Arabia song'?

  • @lanko24ify sorry. i have heard of Lawrence of Arabia, but have no idea whats it about. can you give me a rought idea of the movive?

  • @lanko24ify The music in the interval you said resembles the one of lawrence and is very similar but it's not a ripoff, some parts of the same encore after 0:45 sounds like back to the future OST but is not the same.

  • @Pepoxable Glad I saw your post before I responded. As many times as I've listened to the soundtrack of Lawrence of Arabia, I can definitely say he didn't rip it off. It's sweeping like LOA, but no rip-off. What James Horner does in a lot of his soundtracks is he uses bits and pieces of the music he did in previous movies. Never heard of him ripping off someone else's work, only his own... :)

  • @darkangel10468 You´re completely right, but Horner is not the only that mix pieces of his music, try Hans Zimmer in the soundtrack of the Backdraft (Burn it all) and Crimson Tide (Roll Tide), the use of synthethizers is very similar. John Williams did the same in some parts of starwars symphony and others films, etc etc

  • @darkangel10468 His well ran dry, hahah. John Williams are better with originality....

  • @kendconcerto

Yes and No. Did you realize how similar the Harry Potter and Star Wars chase music is?

  • @aznpwnerp Do u realized how pointless you are ?

  • @lanko24ify simple because it isnt a rip off ?

  • nice

  • hmmm One good soundtrack better.. yeah I got one. Basil Poledouris, conan the barbarian soundtrack. Poledouris laughs at your James Horner, laughs from his mountain.

  • @Kain11777 You know, Poledouris can do better in music than you doing the laughs. So both musicians are BETTER than you, why cant you shut up and enjoy OR walk away ? ROLF

  • @kendconcerto Jesus, bring out your trolls. I'll do as I damn well please ken. Certainly a nobody like you with no self-esteem who feels the need to attack random strangers on the internet to make himself feel better isn't going to stop me. But you're free to try and look like a jackass. So good luck with that. lol

  • @Kain11777 Trolls ? You're one, safe your breath and jerk yourself inside your bathroom, not the public please. LOL, SOHAI AMOKAU !

  • James Horner is such a fucking hack.

  • @TheDevineBeing And you are fucking lame sloth to remind us, coz its pointless....ROLF

  • Why the hell is there an argument over Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee on this video? Both are ok in their own respects, but hardly relevant for every bit of media out there, especially this video.

  • @foxesV People are too free and says nonsense all the time

  • Fuck the radio I listen to this when i work out and train for a fight!

  • hans zimmer and john williams should have a fight, it would be epic

  • @Innovater6 Hahaha, Williams will win, I hope :D

  • hell yeah.....

    you did it, brave Achilles.

    we remember.

  • You can find all these soundtracks on the Soundtrack collector public folder w w w w (dot) wupload (dot) com / folder / 174526 Enjoy. .......

  • Amazing movie.........RIP achillis and Hector....Amin

  • let them say that i live in time with hector the tamer of horses and achilles good mouvie james horner

  • for hector and troy remember them

  • Every single time i watch Troy. i Love it and it never gets boring. Troy is one of the best movies there is!!!!!

  • @Robbin2212 i totally agree

  • 3:04 - suddenly the movie decides to go Stargate on us!

  • @Arman88 Lol

  • AMAZING! I think this piece of music alone is the best James Horner has ever written or at least in the top 5. It's the one I've listened to most ,over and over again.

  • This sounds just like Stargate in places...

  • wait min...Chuck Norris was in Troy?!?!

  • @DesireMachine They constantly mentioned his name, did you not hear? Chuck Norris's nickname spelled like this "G.O.D"

  • 4:30 EPIC

  • 5:05 is exactally like zorro theme but james h made them both so they wud be lol

  • An incredible film!!!! James Horner is amazing!

  • Like it.

  • it seems like the SG1/stargate music...

  • Comment removed

  • The fight scenes in Troy with Achilles are awesome. I remember when I saw him fight for the first time and it was one of the most inspirational things I've ever seen on film. Old Wolf must have known who to call for choreography.

  • Can you stop with the Chuck Norris bullshit. It's old, I'm getting tired of hearing him referenced, he himself is old, annnnd I bet none of you were literate by the time his shit died on television. Damn good movie btw and composer.

  • Nice armor :O

  • It is said that Chuck Norris that : ... never sleeps Is w8ing

...Doesnt wear a watch cause he decides what time it will be ...doesn t make push ups . He is pushing the earth...God forgives . Chuck Norris never ...

  • @DonCortezakos chuck norris was a kindergarten student to Bruce Lee!!!...chuck norris is such a joke thats y there r chuck norris jokes...if there was bruce lee jokes...ppl would be like...r u high dont joke bout the master

  • lol...horner

  • This was what made me fall in love with Horner's music.

  • 3:26+

  • hans zimmer is better no doubt #1.

  • Its almost the same like avatar!! ;)

When I first saw avatar I was like... This is SO JAMES HORNER! lol

  • james horner Vs Hans Zimmer ! Epic fight :P

  • James Horner is a thief. Listen to Ralph Vaughan Williams' Tallis Fantasia if you don't believe me. Hollywood composers are, and have been from the very beginning, nothing but a bunch of thieves and vultures, and I respect and enjoy listening to every one of them.

  • @gentile887766551 THANK YOU! I was waiting for someone else to draw the comparison. The music towards the end of Troy is a direct plagiarism of Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.

  • Chuck Noris is the student of the legendary Bruce Lee, his martial arts are real. So plz respect that. And get on enjoy the music shall we ?

  • @kendconcerto I have to disagree with you chuck Norris wasn t the student of Bruce Lee . Bruce lee was his student !

  • @kendconcerto chuck norris is the KING Bruce Lee was very good.

  • @SherlockHolmes918 lol hed get ktfo in mma against top fighters

  • @kendconcerto And IP Man is the legendary master and teacher of Bruce Lee :) watch Ip Man the film

  • @EpicJoshFTW Yes I had watched it. :)

  • @EpicJoshFTW I wonder who taught Ip man, and who taught his teacher and so on.

  • @bookercreator Good question, hehe. Chinese martial arts ROCKS

  • @EpicJoshFTW Yip Man ;)

  • @kendconcerto ...and Optimus Prime is the son of Chuck Norris, this is for sure! :D

  • @TheMrWARLORD LOL

  • But John Williams' music have more originality and story. I really love John Williams' stuffs, he's a musical wizard!

  • @kendconcerto

"More originality"? He pretty much uses the same set of instruments every time! I think that's his weakness compared to composers like Zimmer.

  • @kendconcerto I agree. He is my all-time favourite, I listen his work whenever I have a time to spare. There are other great composers there as well, but Williams is one who got me into the world of soundtracks. =)

  • @kendconcerto williams is lame, tell one good soundtrack that can be better than zimmer, jablonsky, nexton howard, zack hemsey, or atticus ross?

  • @zarenlug20 No, YOU'RE LAME, fuck off !

  • James Horner & Hans Zimmer are some of the Best music coposer in the world, after John Williams and Steven Spielberg, shure : )

  • I wonder who would win here; Chuck Norris or Achilles

  • @aaronmb83 The hell with those Chuck Norris jokes, they're not original anymore

  • @Ruychaven I don't know, I thought my joke was original. I mean, Chuck Norris being the symbol of American Badassness seamed only appropriate. What are you...European? If you dislike the statement, then all you had to do was to click the dislike button on my comment. If you couldn't figure that out, than you must be pretty fragile yourself. Grow a pair!!!

  • @aaronmb83 "seamed"?

  • @aaronmb83 No, I'm just fooling around about the "seamed", doesn't matter. But what does matter is that the jokes concerning Norris are, for me anyways, always statements that his skills are not respected. So if you talk about American badassness, you should not give fuel to these kind of statements. Norris deserves way more than that. And yes, I'm European, but I like American badassness :) Sorry if my comment was a little rude.

  • @aaronmb83 There's a reason why its not call ''CHUCK NORRIS 's HEEL''... Chuck norris would win for sure

  • Best part starts at 3:26

Oh, by the way this film is way better than 300: fights are more realistic and less flashy and fake (and rely much less on CGI).

  • It has a touch of the "last samurai" soundtrack in it

  • can everyone find me the notes and partitures of this soundtrack for orchester plz if anyone can please help me.....

  • James Horner & Hans Zimmer

  • Did I hear stargate in there somewhere?

  • the music of the heroes

  • Wiked action movie.

  • At 2:90 till 3:25 I have to think about Stargates Title Theme ^^

  • If you had studied Iliad carefully you would have immediately noticed that the only substancial difference between the book and the movie is that in the second there are no Gods. The other differences in the plot are only a consequence of the director's decision, which, in my opinion, makes the events more realistic.

  • Nice Music, movie wise, eh.

  • endlich mal voll version und keine 1-2 minuten!

  • Mr. Horner always is inspired by another composer. Let us see: In King Lyon we hear clearly Beethoven and Mozart (Ave Verum, by the example). Here - Troy, there is a lot of Shostakovitch, 5yh Symphony. take and listen. Toward the stile. The Achilles theme is totaly stolled (inspired) at the fouth movement. Take and listen. The same way the last movement inspired the last movement of ET from Mr. Williams

  • Whats the nameof the soundtrack starts after Menelaos death???? pls tell me.

  • The fight scenes in 300 is so fake compared to this movie.

  • Man soll sagen:Ich lebte zu Zeiten Hektors, des Pferdebezwingers...Man soll sagen, Ich lebte zu Zeiten ACHILLES!

  • Paris it's a famous Queer...Hey i fail whit a sword let's use a fagy bow.

  • @SetisX81 yeah, sure, like all them queers that defeated the French army during the battle of Agnicourt. What a bunch of sissies, beating an army ten times their size.

  • @kidvampire

a woman can use a bow and kill a great warrior.Bow's are for sissies :))

  • after 0:44 it would fit more to a jurrasic park theme instead of troy.

  • On voie bien la le thème de James Horner qui ressemble qu'a lui même ;) Excellent !

  • Like I dont know its a movie, lol......The fight scene is direct and no gimmicks thats what i meant

  • @kendconcerto Only the spear trowing XD Almost like ye put a spear into a canon XD

  • the first 40 seconds are great, the rest sounds like some cheap Hollywood christmas movie

  • this film isnt a documentary nor was 300 or braveheart or gladiator all 4 are really amazing films if you want to the real thing watch the history channel!!!

  • lol the guys name is Horner... sounds like horner. That's why he'll cast people without shirts on lol.

  • The two movies had their own merits, so enjoy both. This way more films of this genre will be made.

  • oh i love the scene where this music is playing. helen looks stunning

  • good movies also need a good score and 300's sucked big ones.

  • @andraken

    wth are you talking... ??

movies got to be entertaining, troy does it and also did 300, in a satisfying way imo.

who the fk wants to see a perfect history based movie? and btw who told you that this wasnt the truth? bet you sleep in a batman costume.

  • Imagine this movie as portraying the actual history of the war. Now imagine 200 years passing, stories spread by word of mouth. And imagine Homer, steeped in the Hellenic mythology, taking all the stories and producing The Illiad. Now accept that as fact, then go back and watch the movie.

  • i like the fight scenes, simple n direct, no whooshie-hooshie fake stuffs

  • @kendconcerto hmm, have you seen how far they can throw their spears..? just an example.

  • @kendconcerto it's a movie and it's all fake stuff. all set up, made up, carefully scripted and executed with paid crew and actors.

  • Amazing soundtrack and a great film! Some people have their doubts about the film, but I think the whole ideology of being remembered is inspiring, I mean the soundtrack itself is called 'Remember Me'. Plus the fight scenes are epic!

  • No, YOU SUCKS

  • Not a failure if u got Pitt's as Archilles....

  • Yeah, everyone knows ancient greeks were blonde hair and blue eyes! Especially Achilles. And it is sure he was a famous playboy instead of homosexual and had a love story with Patroclus!

  • you're a loser who doesn't appreciate good movies when they bitch slap you in the face.

  • This is just a product of Hollywood. 300 is a good movie. 300 is more accurate and more true, near the history.

  • 300 was actually a horrible movie. yea sure it had its cool fight scenes, but the actual concept and storyline was horrible. plus, the whole movie was basically in gray and red.

  • Are you mad? 300 at least is original, is different from the other movies, everytime the same stupid thing. Troy is the one epic-historical-fantasy movie that, therefore, change completeley the true story.

  • yes 300 is different, but in a bad way. ask any critic. what's not true in this movie anyway?

  • Many things! I've already said them. Like the simple fact that a war long ten years in this movie go on for about ten days! Then Agamemnon die at the end of this movie, while in the original story survived! And many many other things! Anyway 300 split the critics, but the public was completely satisfied and everyone enjoyed the movie. Now 300 is a cult, and EVERYONE, even who didn't see it knows the quote "THIS IS SPARTA!" while nobody remember Troy, because is a shit movie!!

  • i can tell you're not very fluent in English. Anywho, I really don't feel like further arguing with someone who obviously has no clue what's he talking about when it comes to movies. Movies are meant to entertain. If you want to be informed, watch a DOCUMENTARY, not a MOVIE. Troy is more entertaining than 300 - deal with it.

  • Troy is commercial. A movie shouldn't tell lies. And this movie is all special effects and great action. No story, everything is copied and ruined. A movie like others, nothing else. I presume that if you liked this movie you are one who liked also Transformers, aren't you? Another bullshit.

  • This movie was not supposed to be a history lesson...Just an adaptation of an epic.. Adapted to make it interesting and entertaining. What's wrong with that?

  • Adaptation = ruin a story?

Well if it is so, let's create a movie where Dante Alighieri is a warrior who travel in hell and fight demons... oooh wait, they made a game like that!!

  • actually, you are indeed correct. I happened to love both the Transformers' because they were awesomely entertaining (i.e. Megan Fox).

    "A movie shouldn't tell lies"

THEY"RE MOVIES! who cares if they're true?! people go to see them to be entertained!! not to learn about what really happened at Troy, geez.

  • I'm not talking about what real happen at Troy, hellooo Iliad is a fan fiction story, written by Homer!

Anyway like I expected you see movies just for the appareance, or for pussy. You don't love cinema, you used cinema. You can't like movies like Pulp Fiction, Blade Runner or The Godfather... you just enjoy shitty hollywood's products, the commercial side of cinema. Clap clap! Enjoy your stupid entertaining!

  • Haha alright, dude. Whatever you say. And yes, you were talking about what really happened

"Troy is the one epic-historical-fantasy movie that, therefore, change completeley the true story. "

you said it yourself. No need to get all 6-year old girly on me just because you have no movie intellect or a life for that matter.

P.S. before you comment again, please go see a movie and actally take in the awesomness of it instead of trying to shoot it down with mindless jargon.

  • @jck1794 again! But did you read my comments? " hellooo Iliad is a fan fiction story, written by Homer!" not history, it's a BOOK! And someone completly change the main aspects of this book. And this is not the first movie that made it. I hate when movies do it. So I prefer 300, inspired by a TRUE graphic novel, not history, moron! And it is 100% faithful to the original product. Keep going to cinema and spend your money just because a movie it's "cool" XD

  • @andraken o my frickin god, ok.........if the Iliad is fiction, than it's allowed to be altered..no one's gonna care....

"So I prefer 300, inspired by a TRUE graphic novel, not history, moron!"

correct me if I'm wrong. but I thought your original comment was defending 300's historical accuracy. Now you're saying it's based off of a comic book?(graphic novel aka comics). try not to contradict yourself bud....it helps to stay on one ground in an argument...

  • @jck1794 it is you that missunderstood me. I said that is near the history, not that IS the history. I never mentioned history accuracy, I mean the closing atmosphere to the graphic novel that was inspired by history, of course it is not realistical even the comic, but at least the movie was faithful to the main source (alias the graphic novel). On the contrary, this movie (Troy) isn't faithful to the real happening, neither to the fictional narrative production of the Iliad.

  • he probably used an online translator to translate from his own language. Don't laugh at him for that.

But you're right about the documentary/movie issue. Troy is one of the best movies, and it is certainly better than 300, which contains even more lies than Troy ;p .

  • well 300 had truth to it, but it was very poorly done. to be honest, it was just plain cheesy.

  • every movie has some truth in it off course :p. Fact is, in 300, you don't see much of it. I loved the spartans, and that's why i even hated 300 more. They portrait the spartans as some gayguys having nothing better to do than to fight xD

don't want to argue about this one though :p

  • @genewifr22 You probably want to go back and read a history book or two. The Spartans were a military society where men viewed homosexual activity as normal among spartan military men even while being married. Somewhat the same as macedonians under Alexander the Great, the macedonian fighting men considered love between men to be the greatest love of all.

  • @HermannTheGreat

first and for all, i didn't want to argue about this one.

2nd, i know that fact, but that's not what i meant.

What i mean is that the spartans are portrayed as a bunch of WILD gayguys, who don't need protective armor, except for some metal undies, and a cape, which, according to me, is not very protective.

last but not least, the gay stuff was actually to create a tight bond, to have a better cooperation between the soldiers. grtz. ;)

  • @genewifr22 You are right about that. Having them fight with their abs showing etc. was pretty stupid.

  • @genewifr22 The whole of Greece did it. The Romans were pretty big on it too. It was only Christianity that made it taboo.

  • I agree with you about 300 not being a good movie, just very overrated; and for more reasons than you yourself stated. Just don't go to any 300 video clips and state your opinion, because you'll be treated like a leper who can spread his disease just by having people read what you wrote and called homophobic for saying that most of the movie was guys running around hooting and hollering in metal undies. Most 300 fans have little in the way of intellect, don't mind them.

  • someone who has some intellect. I'm glad I'm not the only one here....

  • no it's not.

the way 300 shows the historic people is just ridiculous, epic even. Xerxes was not some regular pierced gothic type. The spartans weren't some dumb brutes who hacked and slashed through all they saw. Their fighting skills were mainly tactical moves, which you hardly see in the movie. And i could go on like that, but since the number of characters is limited, i won't do so. But if you continue on insisting that 300 is a better movie concerning history, i will ;)

  • Since when hollywood gives a crap about how history was ? :P, All that they and I care about are epic fighting scenes and music, 300 got both on the hardcore level, so me like, though I wish those 300 men were actually woman with the same outfit lol ;).

  • @kendconcerto Pitt = Achilles TO perfection ...those fighting scenes were NICE
