Nice PC, but bad quality video. Is it normal to have "Object Quality" grayed out? I see rocks and pavement textures look REALLY bad and underwhelming compared to the rest of the game on mine even though I maxed mine out at a slightly lower framerate than yours.
you should rather take i7 or quad core.i personnaly prefer ati radeon hd 4870, but this should be good.I also think you dont need 2x500gb as it would make the price go down a bit,but i dont know what do you use your computer for.i dont know much but screens but this doesnt sound bad.win 7 is great.i dont know much about this but i use hardware similar to what i just wrote and its a bit cheaper.

"its comparable to the X1800XL, which is capable of resolutions a high as 1280x720" WOW BIG WOOP!720p!!!!So what? The ps3 does 1080p!Besides,Xbox 360 has to compress there games so much that newer games are starting to look crisper on PS3,your games only hold 7GB!And developers are slowly grasping the power of ps3 better and better. And we have way more exclusive games.Stop living in the past people!PS3 has cought up,and is ready to blow past!
I'm getting an ATi Sapphire 4870 soon, i get a 620Watt psu with it too, bcuz right now i got 350w, cant handle a 4870 lol, but here is my question, i thought the only thing that should be able to handle the graphics card your gonna get is the power supply, but now i just heard that u also need your CPU to be able to handle ur graphics card, so I got a core 2 duo 2.20Ghz E4500 CPU, would it run the 4870 without problems? or would it bottleneck?
What ppl mean by 'your CPU handling your GPU is: if your cpu is way slower than your graphics card, games will only play as well as the cpu allows. And with your cpu, your gpu will be bottlenecked i think
oh.. so if i would buy an ati 4870 it would be a waste of money now? :( i really wanna start playing WoW in max settings as it's gotten pretty intensive and demanding..
well, if your current GPU is slower than your CPU, your performance will increase by buying a 4870, but only to the performance of your CPU. So it's basically up to you :). (you wont need a great CPU for WoW though i think, but im not sure, i dont play it myself)
WoW has gotten pretty demanding.. playing ith shadows low is 60 straight fps for me (100+ when vsync off) but as soon as i put shadows high.. 7 - 25 fps.. max ma 30... and i dont know if my CPU is better then my GPU.. i got a Core2Duo E4500 2.20ghz, with a 8400GS 256mb.. the rest of my pc is good.. its game-able.. but its the GPU that lets me down :(
a 4870 will bottleneck your system, but games are largely GPU reliant, so it will boost your game performance significantly. However, i wouldnt bother buying such a good card for your system without a CPU upgrade, so i'd either upgrade the whole system (PSU, CPU, GPU) or wait a little longer and buy a whole new system, if you want i can help you put one together on a budget. GL with your decision ;)
well, tbh a 4870 would be to much just for world of warcraft. people say: they got a simple good duo2core cpu, a nice 2GB - 4GB ram, and a good nice simple 8800GT - 9800GT and can run max settings (maybe shadows medium) and get a nice 60 fps (100+ when vsync is off).
but would even a 8800GT / 9800GT even bottleneck my system? if it wont and runs like a baby ill get this:
That would probably be enough for WoW then. The 8800 / 9800 has been updated again and is now called the 250GTS, i would recommend that one then, it's a great card and your cpu wont bottleneck it too much (maybe just a little) but for WoW, the 250 should be plenty of power.
dude, u know what, i think im just gonna save longer, cuz im only 12 so i dont have a job to get alot of money, ill have to save more time then, and then ill just get a brand new nice Quad Core CPU, and with a cool new 9800GTX or ati 4870 or something.
just to give a more 'modern' sound to it since it's structure has been updated to the structure of the 200 series, performance increase with this update is only minimal though. It's still the good old 8800 GT updated. And yeah, that might be a good idea considering your age :).
oh, it's cool we have contact like this, if u have messenger or xfire or something, could u tell me ur address or something in a YouTube message or sumthing? and btw, I have a normal size case, not a antec 900 size but u know when u just go in the store and buy a random nice pc with a normal size case like most, i got that size of case, would a 8800GT or 9800GT, preferrefably (or howeva u spell that) a 9800GT fit in my case?
the GTS 250 is roughly the same performance as a 9800 GTX+. It is 2 inches shorter than the 9800 and uses the 55 nm production. The advantage of the GTS 250 would be if you had a smaller case.
can i play on very high with 25fps miniumin 35fps average and hihg no matter at 1240x768 with no AA or AQ motion blur to full sound to medium with 750wpsu ultra amd phenom x4 9950black edition xtreme gear ultra twin heatpipe air cooling 740g motherboard 4gb ddr2 800 nvidia powered by evga gtx260 896mb core 216 vista 64basic
yeah this game looks like it will be possible on the ps3 but definently not as high quality as the pc version but i dont think it will be THAT big a difference between ps3 and pc versions of the game
can you please tell me how 2.40ghz 4gb ddr2 ram nvidia gforce 9600gt will run on crysis with windows vista ultimate thanks =) I currently have 1gb ram nvidia gforce 6150se thats what I plan on upgrading to.
i can max the settings and the res but i only go to 2xaa. how you managed 8? i have no idea. then again. i dont know the processing power of a 4870.. i have a 4850.. but i do have the same processor as you. its oc'd to 3.15 Ghz...
I cant agree that the PS3 tech was outdated the day it came put. Its overall performance is 2 teraflops compared to the 360s 1. Yeah a good pC trumps both but tech wise the PS3 is the best console.
Except the PS3 is an absolutely horrible platform to code for.
Getting a game to actually use the PS3's processing power efficiently is next to impossible.
And you can't accurately measure performance in teraflops for gaming. Maybe if you were just using it for folding that would be an accurate assessment, but you're not, you're playing games.
Sony just released a new development tool last week or so.And besides, the cryengine 3 is coming out soon....and it looks amazing. Not to mention,it will run a little smother and have a few more effects over the xbox 360 version because it has more computing power then the 360.Cryteck even said so.
Cryengine 3? I think that comes under "extremely big budget games".
Having said that, just googled that new Sony development tool, sounds pretty good! Cheaper, faster and "enhanced" technical support, whatever that means.
Let's just hope Sony release a decent developer kit straight away next time they make a console, rather than waiting a few years.
i have seen q6600 to 4.0ghz on air in some forums but they didnt for long period,,they go for watercooling , with q6600 luck counts.. you need to have a good motherboard to oc q6600, other factors too, good ram with 2x2gb . good psu.. and u must know what you are doing .. a decent knowledge for oc because at high ghz mb starts to trick. then voltages control helps .. i can go 3.0ghz stable on my old 680i (C00) version. usually i run default its already soo sweet at 2.4ghz with 8800gts in sli..
a lot of people say that xbox360 and ps3 are better than pc... becuase all of their pussy ass friends play it... but pc is more for adults and older teens, while xbox and ps3 are more for teens and kids... and in terms of gameplay and graphics pc wins every time.
hmm actually everyone has its own choice just like headbanger listener wont like jazz.. and techno music lover will hate opera (mostly) we have a right to agree or disagree but we cannot put our likeness to others because they got their own taste.. ok but yea.. pc is more advanced graphically but i have seen some games on xbox360 and also on ps2 that makes me think that.. why.. WHY pc devolopers cannot make a game like this on pc. hope u understand my point bro
......continued....Arghhhh theres just so many reasons to say how Pc owns ps3 and 360(360 is nearly there tho its so much better than ps3)
PS3s gaming maybe next-gen ultimate graphics, but PC comes right as near to them, but its not just the graphics that decides what a good game is, its the gameplay.
I mean the gameplay for ps3 compared to xbox360 and PC is just absolute shit, the controls for ps3 are also terrible.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
First of all KZ2 owns crysis in all aspects and no one playes pc. How can you say ps3 sucks if 100 times more people play ps3 than pc. Pc gaming is dead!

PS. enjoy having 3 discs for the game RAGE!lol

can i play crysis maxed? i got a coolmaster 500w
intel Core i7 920 - Quad Core - 4 x 2.66Ghz - 8MB
6GB DDR3 1333Mhz (3 x 2GB triple channel)
Intel X58 chipset
Nvidia GeForce GTX260 - 896MB GDDR3
DennisProductions 2 years ago
you can but you will only get around 15 -20FPS. i would recommend upgrading to a GTX 285.
PhenomTheGreat 2 years ago
it depends on what resolution Dennis was playing at that system could max out crysis easy on a 19 in screen, and would do very well on a 22 in.

Please answer ASAP! getting the stuff in a week!!
runescapeglobeskate 2 years ago
What ppl mean by 'your CPU handling your GPU is: if your cpu is way slower than your graphics card, games will only play as well as the cpu allows. And with your cpu, your gpu will be bottlenecked i think
Coerced 2 years ago
oh.. so if i would buy an ati 4870 it would be a waste of money now? :( i really wanna start playing WoW in max settings as it's gotten pretty intensive and demanding..
runescapeglobeskate 2 years ago
well, if your current GPU is slower than your CPU, your performance will increase by buying a 4870, but only to the performance of your CPU. So it's basically up to you :). (you wont need a great CPU for WoW though i think, but im not sure, i dont play it myself)
Coerced 2 years ago
cuz trust me
WoW has gotten pretty demanding.. playing ith shadows low is 60 straight fps for me (100+ when vsync off) but as soon as i put shadows high..

Coerced 2 years ago
well, tbh a 4870 would be to much just for world of warcraft. people say: they got a simple good duo2core cpu, a nice 2GB - 4GB ram, and a good nice simple 8800GT - 9800GT and can run max settings (maybe shadows medium) and get a nice 60 fps (100+ when vsync is off).
but would even a 8800GT / 9800GT even bottleneck my system? if it wont and runs like a baby ill get this:
600-620Watt PSU
maybe instead of 2GB - 4GB ram
8800GT / 9800GT.
Would that run nice smoothly :) (i got a D2C
e4500 2.20gz.)
runescapeglobeskate 2 years ago
That would probably be enough for WoW then. The 8800 / 9800 has been updated again and is now called the 250GTS, i would recommend that one then, it's a great card and your cpu wont bottleneck it too much (maybe just a little) but for WoW, the 250 should be plenty of power.
Coerced 2 years ago
omg cpu wont bottleneck "too much"? :O
dude, u know what, i think im just gonna save longer, cuz im only 12 so i dont have a job to get alot of money, ill have to save more time then, and then ill just get a brand new nice Quad Core CPU, and with a cool new 9800GTX or ati 4870 or something.
why is it called 250GTS now btw?
runescapeglobeskate 2 years ago
just to give a more 'modern' sound to it since it's structure has been updated to the structure of the 200 series, performance increase with this update is only minimal though. It's still the good old 8800 GT updated. And yeah, that might be a good idea considering your age :).
Coerced 2 years ago
oh, it's cool we have contact like this, if u have messenger or xfire or something, could u tell me ur address or something in a YouTube message or sumthing? and btw, I have a normal size case, not a antec 900 size but u know when u just go in the store and buy a random nice pc with a normal size case like most, i got that size of case, would a 8800GT or 9800GT, preferrefably (or howeva u spell that) a 9800GT fit in my case?
runescapeglobeskate 2 years ago
the GTS 250 is roughly the same performance as a 9800 GTX+. It is 2 inches shorter than the 9800 and uses the 55 nm production. The advantage of the GTS 250 would be if you had a smaller case.

I cant agree that the PS3 tech was outdated the day it came put. Its overall performance is 2 teraflops compared to the 360s 1. Yeah a good pC trumps both but tech wise the PS3 is the best console.
farmerdelbhoy 2 years ago
Except the PS3 is an absolutely horrible platform to code for.
Getting a game to actually use the PS3's processing power efficiently is next to impossible.
And you can't accurately measure performance in teraflops for gaming. Maybe if you were just using it for folding that would be an accurate assessment, but you're not, you're playing games.
NihilKrist 2 years ago
And what are you supposed to be? A game developer?
boamuro 2 years ago
No, but sony have said they intentionally make it difficult to write games for the PS3. Not to mention numerous games developers.
"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want," - Sony's chairman.
Only the extremely big budget games really use the PS3s extra power, and even then rarely the cross platform ones.
Comparing performance on how many teraflops it can do is just wrong.
And before you say it, I'm not an xbox fan boy. I don't even own one.
NihilKrist 2 years ago
Sony just released a new development tool last week or so.And besides, the cryengine 3 is coming out soon....and it looks amazing. Not to mention,it will run a little smother and have a few more effects over the xbox 360 version because it has more computing power then the 360.Cryteck even said so.
Kuson2 2 years ago 2
Cryengine 3? I think that comes under "extremely big budget games".
Having said that, just googled that new Sony development tool, sounds pretty good! Cheaper, faster and "enhanced" technical support, whatever that means.
Let's just hope Sony release a decent developer kit straight away next time they make a console, rather than waiting a few years.

Can Q6600 go that far? I need to oc mine..
xX20AxFreedomx 2 years ago
i have seen q6600 to 4.0ghz on air in some forums but they didnt for long period,,they go for watercooling , with q6600 luck counts.. you need to have a good motherboard to oc q6600, other factors too, good ram with 2x2gb . good psu.. and u must know what you are doing .. a decent knowledge for oc because at high ghz mb starts to trick. then voltages control helps .. i can go 3.0ghz stable on my old 680i (C00) version. usually i run default its already soo sweet at 2.4ghz with 8800gts in sli..
gamer1o0 2 years ago
No watercooling for me, I'm going with 5-4 fans.. plus my room is at a fairly cold temperature on average basis.
4x1 GB for my ram.
Gonna get 260GTX.. 216 clock

a lot of people say that xbox360 and ps3 are better than pc... becuase all of their pussy ass friends play it... but pc is more for adults and older teens, while xbox and ps3 are more for teens and kids... and in terms of gameplay and graphics pc wins every time.

hmm actually everyone has its own choice just like headbanger listener wont like jazz.. and techno music lover will hate opera (mostly) we have a right to agree or disagree but we cannot put our likeness to others because they got their own taste.. ok but yea.. pc is more advanced graphically but i have seen some games on xbox360 and also on ps2 that makes me think that.. why.. WHY pc devolopers cannot make a game like this on pc. hope u understand my point bro

I can guarantee u if someone had a ps3 , and then bought a nextgen PC theyd be more suited with the pc games and theyd ditch there shitty ps3.
Im sure i speak for all PC / 360 gamers.
Thumbs me up if you agree!

PS3 was outdated the day it launched in tech terms :p
FatalFist 3 years ago 2
Cough well that justifies my point , pc owns ps3, ps3 < shit
DarkForgottenUchiha 3 years ago 3
and dont forget the xbox360, its even worst in my opinion.
halo1crysis 3 years ago
......continued....Arghhhh theres just so many reasons to say how Pc owns ps3 and 360(360 is nearly there tho its so much better than ps3)

First of all KZ2 owns crysis in all aspects and no one playes pc. How can you say ps3 sucks if 100 times more people play ps3 than pc. Pc gaming is dead!
Stevofxx 3 years ago
OMG pc gaming is dead, no its not ! u dont know the half of the meaning "gaming".
I dont know how to get it into ur thick head that no one plays pc is not true.
Hmm let me see, WOW has millions of subscribers who still play to day, and what is WOW played on, PC RETARD.
Seriously there is so many people who play pc games, and there are MUCH more pc games than there is ps3 games.
