  • 99% of the scenes involving rich guys are played by 1% of the actors. Occupy Food Network :P

  • @sirsenormrjoe you notice though that he only handled the oysters for at the longest thirty seconds at a time. But yeah I think the soup he ate at the end was fake if his allergy is as bad as he inferred.

  • this was the most sexual episode of Good eats ever. Watch the first part and you'll see what I mean.

  • God i want some oysters now...badly after watching this XD

  • Love the Monty Python reference with the "Wafer-thin mint" XDD

  • oh yummy

  • LOL, I can't believe he referenced Mr. Creosote.

  • puree half the oysters but leave some for the stew/soup. jeez

  • LOL Monty python!

  • i crave oysters

  • hahah..."it's wafer thin" ;)

  • scottishnationalist <--- ur a brave man. i've seen ur mother. i'd have taken the knife. u fukin ass clown.

  • I was raped by alton brown.

  • Did you love it?

  • that nurse is easily his hottest employee.

  • damn hahah

  • That nurse is his head chef, and yes, very tastey.

  • This episode is soo R rated, lol its funny though!!!

  • wafer thin!

  • i've eaten an oyster that had that type of bacteria in it. it was at a food buffet and it was on a dare. i got sick during my freshmen finals too. it was really bad, i thought i was gonna die cause i felt so bad. thank goodness i don't have a liver condition or apparently that could've been the case.

  • i've heard that it should be a universal rule to not eat shellfish at a buffet restaurant!

  • That's why I eat oyster rockfeller cause its cooked

  • damn i feel like eating oysters but im scared cause i at it when i was young and things didnt go to well comment me!

  • "So that you don't season your oven"

    rofl

  • i was just thinking the same thing MahBoi3579. poor AB. hasn't him having problems with ED been hinted at before in previous episodes? i can't recall

  • Why does everyone think AB has ED? lmao

  • i was just thinking the same thing MahBoi3579. poor AB. hasn't him having problems with ED been hinted at before in previous episodes? i can't recall

  • LMAO @ the Monty Python reference.

  • i almost missed that.

  • Good Eats is definitely my favorite cooking show...ever.

  • i think AB has ED =/

  • I just made the soup....FANTASTIC....The only things I added were a touch of whit pepper and garlic powder along with the celery seed and hot sauce.

  • kinda off subject but i read today that emeril is gonna be doing his last show soon, its being cancelled after 10 years

  • Good, I hate him. BAM!

  • Thank god, I call him the whore of foodnetwork, every time I turn on the TV, he's on!

  • YEAH! It drives me INSANE! I mean, with his brain-washing, now when about half of the American population thinks chef, they think EMERIL, NOT AB! TO BAM WITH HIM!

  • The nurses name, Fanny Bay, is that a reference to Fanny Bay on Vancouver Island, BC whose major export is oysters?

  • Great vid! I learned a bunch and the only thing I can add is this: WEAR LEATHER GLOVES WHEN SHUCKING OYSTERS! ... sorry about the caps, but its a bloody mess if ya don't. Trust me it will happen. After a few beers its the last thing ya want to go to the ER over :)

  • Yeah I use a towel and gloves. Its awsome I love em, taste like ocean goodness. Did you know that the lobster population has risen 500% since humans destroyed cod populations along the east coast. I am very glad we destroyed that unique species because I am an optimist and a big fat pig. Semper Phi

  • Optimist and a big fat pig! SAME! +1!

  • I might be wrong but didnt AB say he was allergic to shellfish earlier in the series...

you never really see him eat anything in this?!?

  • yea in one episode when talking about latex gloves he said he would never touch oysters with out them

  • I just noticed that tonight and came to the comments looking to see if anybody else had. He seems to eat the soup.... and he touches the oysters several times which would get a reaction if he were badly allergic to them, if it's only a little he might get away with it.

  • it's possible that the soup he ate was fake and had no oysters, however with cutting the oysters he may be badly contact allergic and if he is maybe he took one for the team to make some good eats!

  • Yeah, I wasn't sure, but I didn't see AB eat any of the raw oysters... he acted like he did, but you couldn't see him do it. If he is allergic, then I'm cool with it, otherwise, if AB won't eat 'em, I ain't gonna either! :)

  • Guess it might be because if the take is screwed up they'll want to keep the food for a new take.

    I dunno though. *shrug*

  • Could have something to do with having the oysters under the hot lights for all the takes. You don't see anyone else eating raw oysters either (just implied eating)

  • Well...not so much an allergy, it's more of an intolerance which is not as fatal. However,he still can't eat them. It's not innate to, it's developed. He said he missed eating them.

  • Haven't seen Alton for a couple of years, this is great. After 50 hrs. of GE, I'll have to find the other two TV cooks who combine info with entertainment, Julia Childs and Graham Kerr. Bam that Emeril!

  • Martin Moonstone, III is CoCo carl?!

  • Yes, and the Food Agent and the guy who sells ovens in the pizza episode I think.

  • they re-use cast for multiple roles. Hell, check out Chuck in part 1 of this episode!

  • it's a quote from monty pythons the meaning of life

  • What does "Wafia theen" come from?

  • That's wafer thin... As in, thin as a wafer. :P

  • Oh yeah that IS from MP. Nevermind XD
