I, too, have arachnophobia and this movie certainly makes spiders seem much scarier and more aggressive than most kinds really are. However, we really need spiders in this world because, without them, everything they eat would multiply too rapidly. Do you really want to be overrun with flies, moths, gnats, mosquitoes, etc.? That's what would happen without spiders to keep their population in check.

I made the mistake of watching this when I was like 5 and to this day I'm still deathly afraid of spiders. Even the small ones. If there is one like two feet away from me and I see it, I'll have a panic attack and be paralyzed in fear. My dad always killed the spiders for me.

@bolatluver29 well. these spiders were literally "fucking" with them. the general was one evil smart sick mother fucker! he KNEW they were looking for him. he KNEW ross had arachnophobia and could have bitten him 20 thousand times over but instead crawled up his body to invoke terror into him. he wanted his victim to know the fullest extent of his terror by slowly crawling up him, and then finally biting him on the face. but like all bad guys, the general got cocky and it was his downfall.
