  • drinking with your buddies in the frat you must have seen the depths of alcoholism man, you must have lost everything you had from drinking really... all sarcasm aside good to get off the hooch man keep it going but trust me college kids in a frat haven't hit rock bottom

  • I´m an alcoholic but I have manage to cut down a lot in the boozing. I discovered when I drank about 50-70 cl whiskey a day that. "-What the heck is this. Its not funny any more." Bing drinking just made me weary and tired.

For the moment I can controll my drinking. I had a scoth when I woke up this morning and I had a small beer in this afternon...Nothing more. It feels great.

  • some great advice their. im in coventry uk, been drinking very heavily since my parents died in 2009, im at the point now where i want to give up as i cant hold a job down etc. also want to lead a normal healthy life again, i know it will be a tough ride but waking up with a hangover and drinking again is also tough.

    good luck to you fella.

  • @SoberinTampa how are you getting on with your alcohol?? i just decided to quit as of today. and im really happy about it. Good luck :)

  • why would u film this so the whole world can see this.... i dont understand people in this world ...probably american

  • hey great video. Im doing a video journal of giving up alcohol aswell. Hope to see you back on youtube again soon.

  • Keep it up dude. You inspire people like me im a veteran and i still havent been avle to stop drinking but i think i can with your motavation.

  • i have replaced my drinking, which ended three years ago, with several activities. One is searching YouTube for videos like these and offering supportive comments about how it is possible to quit and be happy by having confidence in yourself.

This approach is in sharp contrast to the widely touted 12 step approach of surrender to some external, supernatural being.

There's no empirical evidence that any such external power even exists. I, on the other hand, definitely do exist.

  • Keep up the good work! Do you have support? If you want more information on cravings and withdrawal go to my channel and watch some videos.

  • @tkathryyn ... wow that is amazing, a miracle for sure! I wouln't trade my personal experiences in recovery for all the social drinking that I could (or couldn't) possibly do.

  • @jedmisty Maybe it is selfish of me to share it because I realize it is a very hard addition to kick. I hope alcoholics and xalcoholics do not envy me for this as this was just an experiment..and it was a dangerous one. I only dared myself because I have a resilient personality and a mild OCD so when I set my mind to whatever I need to accomplish, I can focus(thanks OCD). I have removed my post because I can see now why some people might try it and not succeed. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Never got into any "Legal" trouble from booze but where it hurt me most was interpersonally...Totally destroyed frienships because of how impulsive I would sometimes get. I'm 35 now and have been drinking since 20...Once I hit around 30 I started REALLY noticing physical and mental effects from drinking. What sucks is once your head clears up and you start feeling like yourself again your still stuck with the drama & damage you have created from the alcohol abuse.Thats what hurts the most for me

  • Good job. Hope you are still sober and doing better.

  • i have 10 days,and this is the third time i tried

first time i did it for a year

    second for a month

    this time i dont know

all i know is that today i am not gonna drink.

i like the video, what happend with you? are you still sober?

going to the bars even if you dont drink is risky because

you going to drink at any moment...

  • how are you doing right now ?

  • Good stuff mate, your doing well. Keep it up. Im sober now after 26 years drunken years and I did it alone with no withdrawal. Good point about booze being legal and legitamate. I think its the elephant in the room if you know what I mean.

Be interested to know how your doing now and wil be posting a film soon myself.

Sobriety is the new drug. Peace

  • Awesome blog

  • Nice job, thanks.

  • Good job.

  • Nice video man, like you Iv'e given up (4 months now) because of the dumbass stuff I did. Peace.

  • 25 years of alcolholism nevvermind thduis the blackouts wit till youre liver goed and evrtying else please not anatabuse

  • If you are a serious alcoholic it is very bad to stop completely, at once. It's better seeing your doctor for advise. If you are an alcoholic stopping immediately could send you into a seizure. Well done in stopping. Hope you manage to keep at it. You sound like you've got a handle on it and know you can't have just the odd drink. Some people say they 'had' a problem and can control it. I don't believe them.

  • Congratulations on sobriety, I hope your still keeping it together, it was hard for me growing up because my whole family were alcoholics and I always felt somewhat subtley pressured into drinking, I'm trying my hardest to stop, but I've been a heavy drinker since I was fairly young. Your videos given me motivation to stop, beause it's an unnessarcy habit. And burns through way to much of my money.

    Thank you.

  • Wherever you see alcohol, you see fractured and destroyed communities.Unintended pregnancies, babies with fetal alcohol syndrome, homelessness, prostitution and violent crime.Nevermind liver damage, kidney damage and heart disease.Alcoholism is the road to poverty and slavery.

  • @namniekib Look at Denmark, its the happiest country in the world, extremely low # of homeless but with the most drinking in the world. Americans need to grow up drinking beer or wine so they can hold their drink when they start drinking. its a huge problem.... also alcoholism is fueled a lot by our fucked up and separated society... my opinion..

  • @BucketPukes1969,Denmark is artificially propped up by heavy taxation that finances the whole welfare socialist system.Alcohol takes its toll on society and taxes placed on it barely cover the consequences. The extra police force, the social workers, and the national health place their financial burden on its citizens and businesses alike.I say good riddance. : \

  • @namniekib ... what an ignorant statement.

  • @BucketPukes1969,1.alcohol tolerance is a good sign that you are an alcoholic because it doesn't have any effect. The DT's or withdrawal will be that much worse.

2.Alcohol is the fuel OF a fucked-up,separated society with reasons mentioned in the previous post.

3.But as with most drugs, regulation(through taxation) is still more effective than an outright ban. That includes pot. : D

  • @BucketPukes1969 with name like bucket puke i'd say you are in the right place

  • Hey, I do not live in Tampa Bay anymore, but I am feeling so much empathy for you at the moment. Empathy is not sympathy okay. Empathy involves understanding you and your situation and not minimizing your feelings. I respect you and you can watch my video on Alcoholic wake up call. Just from listening to you, I beleive that you would be a great counselor for those who are addicted. I almost have my degree in the MHT chemical dependency field and I just turned 30. Im here to talk if needed okay?

  • Yoh!!!! Thanks for the words 'cause I am in the same bout!!! Need to get out!!!!

  • dude ur an idot he cant fuckin drink in moderation thats why they call it alcoholism..its like lays chips once u pop u cant stop..my farther is one but not mee im a pottheadd.ya kno

  • @MAB1989dude You, Ching and Jen obvioulsy have nothing to offer Tampa. This man is in a state of needing objective information and positive reinforcement. Let me ask you all a question...How is you life? Are there any problems that you may need to be counseled on? Do you have any mental dissorders or do you dislike the life you are leading? Noone is perfect and everyone needs therapy to express themselves. Use your sociological imagination and look outside the box for a change! its pringles BTW!

  • You have to learn to slow down your drinking and time each drink.

  • I find it my personal responsibility to spread the news to the still sick and suffering "addicts" out there that 12 step programs are harmful ineffective brain washing cults that steal your hope, your free will and your life!

  • This is positively inspirational! Thanks for your honesty.

  • Hi mate. How are you doing now?

  • Hope to achieve that fela. Í"m really fucked up over here, really bad, all bloated due to massive alcohol consuption, also with internal bleeding and blood in my stool, it's all due to alcohol abuse.

  • Alquraan [5][91] Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with

intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance

of Allâh and from As-Salât (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?

  • Alquraan [5][90] O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling,

and Al-Ansâb, and Al-Azlâm (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an

abomination of Shaitân's (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that

(abomination) in order that you may be successful.

  • I hope you can stay away from alcohol. I got esophagus cancer from drinking. Can't cure it. I'm forty-two years old and I have six months to live...

  • Hey how are you holding up now? I'm 5 weeks sober.

  • I have 7 months of sobriety. Life has never been more awesome. Just have to want to change.

  • This guy has relapsed since. No doubt.

  • You say the guy has probably relapsed since the video. Why do you say that?

  • i drink when i am bored, i am bored because i am intelligent. it's not all bad. life comes in cycles, as we get older life becomes clearer. how about not putting yourself on such a pedestal and relax in the fact that you are just as human as any person with all his character flaws.

fuck man, we live in a culture without any group associatian, while we are genetically inclined to share everything. how can we not get messed up?

  • i was drinking from the age 4 i am now 20 and in to my 2week of no drink man i fell shit lol

  • are you still sober? An alternative to AA is Rational Recovery.Check it out. They teach you how to shut up the beast inside.

  • Are you still sober now? I, too am recently sober. It's very difficult but I know it's the right thing to do

  • Congrats on being sober :) I too am newly sober, reached my rock bottom after 18 mnths of being (but not admitting to myself) an alcoholic. I too could never hve 1 or 2 drinks,I'd lie to myself & make myself believe it'd just be the 1-2 beers, then 10-12beers dwn the line I'd be blacked out or left wanting more. Well done for being so strong by still being able to go out to the pub, I hope one day I'll reach that point too.Way to much temptation for me though, so I'm doing lots of yoga! Peace x

  • oh yes I forgot till I heard you speak about the going out and coming home sober and waking without a hangover, oh what a buzz that was.

    Good on you.

  • just like the lyrics in that Colin Hay song "you give up the drink and those nasty cigarettes, leave the party early, at least with no regrets"

People make jokes on tv how it isn't fun sober but you fool yourself like it is. Well it really is! I love life more than I ever did in the past 10 years of feeling sick all the time. Thanks for watching and caring!

  • I started when I was 16 and quit when I was 32...best thing I ever did...good for you, good vlog...all the best with it, stay in touch aye

    V

  • Thanks for the video. Did you suffer withdrawal symptoms after quitting?

  • I just had my first symptoms last night, it was kinda scary, but I got through it thankfully. =)

    thanks for watching
