  • SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1977 "You Made Me Believe In Magic" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top 100...

In 1995 this record was covered by Bed & Breakfast...

  • the best bcr record ...

  • when i was young i always had the hots for leslie

  • From the way Leslie and Eric are acting in the beginning of the vid, some girl up front is probably doing something unmentionable! Can't blame her though, Leslie looks very, very good here! One of his best looks, without all that crazy Roller gear. Even Woody's hair looks good, and I always thought he had the worse hair. But very sexy here.

  • I was in junior high school and my sister and I absolutely loved the group. We even cut off our pants and sewed plaid strips on them and wore them to school! Good times! leelo6262@yahoo.com

  • This was a good song. I remember it well.

  • @DetroitLives313 I'll be Damned, I had the 45, Hmm your Taste can't be all that bad (MW aside), Now if you Like Grooveline by Heat Wave, I'll be Speechless

  • This is their best song!

  • thanks youn vrmach

  • Wow....McKeown's kind of phoning it in, isn't he?

  • @ heebieandjeebie: so true about the 70's being the last true years of innocence...so happy to have lived those years!

  • DANM hes stil hot and now im 47!!!!

  • Nice happy little pop song!

  • Magic! This soulful and melodic track from The Rollers achieved a high placing in the American 'Hot 100' in the July of 1977. (I believe it peaked at # 9.) Unfortunately, however, it only just scraped into the Top 40 in the UK. One suspects that the reason for this was that it was released a couple of years TOO LATE! By mid-1977, 'Rollermania' was on the wane in Britain - and many of the 'birds' who, only 2 years earlier, had adored the group had 'moved on' and lost interest in the group.

  • Hey, great song. Homo? Go away back to your Burl Ices collection.

  • @imjohnnylaw nothing wrong with Burl Ives. Didn't he do Little Bitty Tear? THat's a good song

  • looks like count down with homo arse molly.

  • when songs had real lyrics

  • such an AMAZING band, cant get enough of BAY CITY ROLLERS <3

  • There goes my childhood..

  • This performance was in 1978 not in 1977 because Aran had been back again.

  • Interesting early mix with a different solo.

  • It is just a really good song and quit the bashing these guys were pretty decent in the day

  • This is my favorite BCR song, it is mellow, happy feel good music. This is far from rubbish and if you compare this to today's harsh mean spirited crap it is pure genius. They don't make music like this anymore, this makes you feel good, how much of anything today can you say that about?

  • opinions vary....

  • It was very well marketed and produced etc, but its rubbish really.Lets be honest. Its very''made to order'' type music. The only one missing is ''puff`n stuff'' !!!

  • That is definitely ALan on keyboard, he rejoined right after it's a game came out.

  • Interesting to see Alan here as I he didn't really rejoin the group until 1979.

  • okyou

  • hello xxx

  • I had 163 different posters/photos in my room - most of Les when I was 12-13, his voice was so da*mn sexy! First 2 concerts in Chicago and Milwaukee!

  • the best band ever

  • Gina97xls

GOOD to HEAR someone LOVES himm (after all these years!! DO ANYONE else in

    CANADA love him too?

  • Disco "Rollers" skates!!!

  • in 79, i was 16 attending a sox game w/ my friends. in the 7th inning we ran out 2 the center field bleachers 2 meet them! : )

  • Screw the Beatles. I think it would've been fun being apart of a band that had a few hits in the 70's.

  • glad to hear someone loved (LOVES) WOODY

  • @purselady2 Still Love Woody!!!! :D

  • I Have LOVED THE BAY CITY ROLLERS SINCE THEY CAME OUT IN THE MID 70's and still have all their records yes I said records.I LOVE LESLIE he is so sexy and his voice is out of this world.May they Live on 4-ever!!!!!!!

  • I used to have the 45 on the ARISTA Label in 1977. I never saw them in concert . This was the only record I ever owned. I had a K-Tell LP from 1975 with their other hit Saturday Night on the LP.

  • This song was also covered by a Japanese boy band in the late 1990's. I've got the CD somewhere, it was given to me by an exchange student. Not a bad version either. ;-)

  • Loved them then...had such a cruch on Les...oh those were the days

  • Sehr gut muß ich immer an meine zeit denken mit 14 jahren war eine schöne zeit.

  • In my opinion, this is their BEST SONG!

  • Just love his voice.....

Thanks for sharing this awesome video.

  • rock and roll then rocks!

  • I agree... Les and Eric are hot. They look so sexy in this performance. YUMM!!!

  • I cannot believe how adult I felt when I bought and heard this record. It wasn't like hearing a new record made by the BCR, they seemed to be a strange band from the new land I had just entered just by getting older. I was FOURTEEN at that time^^

  • wow...this brings back some memories. I actually wore those tartan clothes! where did all those years go? :)

  • just found out i share the same b-day with woody! only he is exactly 11 years older than me! woooohooooo

  • I use to watch their special they had on Saturday mornings at 11 am does anyone remember that? I LOVE THE BAY CITY ROLLERS TOO! Ian was the hottie I had the hots for! God he was gorgeous!

  • @darkangel05021965

I remember watching the Saturday morning shows. I loved watching them. Rock & Roll Love Letter was my favorite. I couldn't have told you their names but loved the music.

  • I had posters of these guys on every inch of wall in my room !! I was madly in love with the drummer,Derek. Internet rocks! I can find so many memories!! And MrMsCunt and the others , I'm with you, love them Rollers!

  • ROLLERMANIA!!!

  • I like the horns and strings in backround of this track. Sounds so hawaii 5-0

  • I am never embarrassed to admit that I loved the BAY CITY ROLLERS. I did then and I do now.

  • @MrMsCunt

    I 2nd that : )

  • Even if you are embarrassed to say that you liked the Bay City Rollers, there is no denying that this is a great record.

  • Happen to hear this on the radio the other day. Had thought of this song in years !! What these guys doing these days ??

  • playing at harlow playhouse in march .

  • Weird mix with different guitar parts.

    great find!

  • love to get in touch with pen pal that posted me this from america years ago

  • amazing song

  • BCR is the best!!!

  • time's passed way too fast....love this song

  • I was at a slumber party when I saw this. I was 11 and remember my heart melting over these guys. *sigh*

  • I love The Bay City Rollers and this is my favorite song by them! Thanks for posting it!:D

  • The good ol' lip sync routine. Although there is an electric piano on stage it isn't playing all of the horn parts.

  • This was their best work. I loved this album the best. Wheres Derek Longmuir!

  • one of the best songs!!!I sure miss the 70's...last true years of innocence.....:(

  • @heebieandjeebie Best song by the Bay City Rollers I loved this @ age 11 God the 70's had the best pop music!!!

  • this was 8 yrs before i was born... and this is still a great song

  • Looks like Top of the pops, 1977??? Can't remember Alan rejoining at this point though...

  • This was the first 45 I ever bought, I was 11 years old, and started wearing plaid pants, as did my friends in California. I moved to Florida the same year, and no one could understand why I was wearing plaid. Ha-ha!

  • is that Alan on the keyboards??? Thought he 'd left by this point???

  • Yes, that's definitely Alan on the keyboards! When and where was this video made?

  • I think it is Top of the pops-it was our only music show here in the the UK in the 70s. This wasn't a big hit & don't remember them ever again being on TV after this. Rollermania was pretty much done with by 77 . It was all punk & disco from then on..

  • OMG!!! Love this song!! Really do. He has an awesome voice. And he's so cute!

  • Just heard this on the radio... and I cried in excitement... how did I not know about this tune?

  • They were fantastic back in the day!.....What memories!...its hard to believe how fast time flies!!......

  • still a great song 32 years later and love the guitar solo. The daisy dukes gotta go though lol

  • In August, 1977, the Bay City Rollers had their last top-10 hit with, "You Made Me Believe In Magic" After 1977, it was all downhill for the Scottish quintet, as they had no more top-10 hits and Rollermania was a thing of the past.

  • This would be a great where are they now segment? hmmmmm where r they? lol

  • this is when the music was the best

  • still love them ,33 years on !!

  • takes me back to about 3rd or 4th grade! then i discovered kiss

  • ok so i was nuts over these guys, i watched them on shangalang, had all their albums (records hehe) every poster i could get my hands on was on my walls, i even had a tartan lined outfit like les, and, when i grew up and did a demo for a radio station, the whole thing was about them, so sue me, i love them. i finally got to see them when i was about 19 at burpengary tavern in queensland. wasnt the same, but still love them anyhoo :)

  • fritz51303, thanks for this one!

  • I REMEBER THEM, I WAS IN 6th GRADE,, THIS GIRL IN MY CLASS SANG THIER SONGS ALL THE TIME,,,S A T U R D A Y NIGHT!!!,,LOLOLOLOL

  • where did you find this ? wow! been loomking for this song for years! is it on on cd at all ?

  • yes, their greatest hits. my mom has it and its on my ipod. :)

  • love them

  • Last time that I checked (a few years ago), Drummer Derek Longmuir was a male nurse!

  • Where's the bass intro? To me that's the coolest part of the song. :)

  • You are totally correct!!!

  • I agree! Not to mention that I personally think the bassist is the best!

  • are you kidding? the lead singer isn't cute.... he's GORGEOUS.. and Eric looks so damn hot in that black leather jacket and those shorts... Les & Eric can eat crackers in my bed anytime!

  • @neverwhatiwanted This band didn't have a single ugly member, and that includes Ian Mitchell and Pat McGlynn in the brief time they were there.

  • @neverwhatiwanted Does it matter that they don't look like that anymore, LOL?

  • It is very dear.

    It was my youth.

I want you to return at time.

    from:japan

  • Love this song....it goes out to a special someone who made me believe in magic....love ya, MBD!♥♥♥

  • Love this song! Was Ian Mitchell with the band when they recorded this song? I just saw him in Deadwood, SD touring under the BCR name. He was the only original member & I know he wasn't with them long. Anyway it was great..as is this video. Thanx for posting!

  • Whoever the lead singer is he's cute, I had this on 8-track when I was a kid and it still works!

  • His name is Leslie (Les) McKeown

  • is the song orginal from BCR???

  • yes thats Alan. This is a re-recording of the song, not the original single. Different guitar, vocals, orchestra arrangements. GOLD.

    tomdavisDOTcom

  • ok the video is almost over and then we see Woody!! something is wrong with that picture!

    other then that good song!!

  • Whoohoo!!! Eric in his 'spank me' shorts xxxx.....seriously though, this is a great song thank you for posting it.

  • Well there aint ENOUGH *Woody Love* in these comments...so here we go...at 1:36...the Face Of An ANGEL!<3

  • OMG! Thank you soo much for posting this video! Beautiful song, awesome guys!! Man is Eric gorgeous!xxoxoxo

  • Is this from TOTP? Who is the Guy on the Piano? He looks like Alan, but he wasn't in the Band in 1977!

  • It does loook like Alan - I think it was around August 1977 that he rejoined, wasn't it (that's what my diary from back then reckons anyhow - I listed all the important world events as you can tell!!). Maybe this was recorded after that??

  • No,it couldn't be Alan. He rejoined the Band during working on the Strangers in the Wind Albun 1978!

  • Between the jacket and the shorts - Eric is just so sexy here! Started my morning off with a smile!

  • SLURP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic, thanks for this one fritz51303! OMG, Eric in black leather - phew!!!
