Do I detect a little chorus in Marcus' bass tone? Marcus Miller's accompaniment, featuring "dropped D," tuning sounds delightfully "Anthony Jacksonesque!" If you'll recall, just two years before this, Anthony was still detuning his "hybrid" Jazz bass with a Precision neck.

Remember watching a TV broadcast of this at the time. I thought M Stern was about to lead the way to a new approach to jazz guitar - I'd never heard the like before. I still like him, but he seemed to be eclipsed by J Scho and W Krantz.
