Do I detect a little chorus in Marcus' bass tone? Marcus Miller's accompaniment, featuring "dropped D," tuning sounds delightfully "Anthony Jacksonesque!" If you'll recall, just two years before this, Anthony was still detuning his "hybrid" Jazz bass with a Precision neck.
NO crescentridge this is MILES brain on drugs so we dont have to go there!!! BUT I KNOW YOU CANT HEAR MILES OR THE OTHERS!!! GET THE FUCK OF OF THIS SITE AND GO BACK TO BRITNEY SPEARS WHERE YOU BELONG!!!! GYM SHOE!!!!!!AKA YOUNG FUCKHEAD!!!

Remember watching a TV broadcast of this at the time. I thought M Stern was about to lead the way to a new approach to jazz guitar - I'd never heard the like before. I still like him, but he seemed to be eclipsed by J Scho and W Krantz.

funny thing is 29 years later - if you get these musicians to play together again; would they be able to match this without Miles...

Miles with a mustache. Epic.
Marcus would have been about 23-24 in this...scary.
Intenzity 2 years ago 19
@Intenzity NO! THIS WAS IN 1982! MILES WAS VERY ILL AT THAT TIME! HE WAS BORN IN 1926, TWO YEARS BEFORE MY MOTHER WHO IS NOW 87!
kujichagulia1 6 months ago
@kujichagulia1 Read my post again.
I said "MARCUS" as in Marcus Miller, his bass player, not Miles.

Hey , Marcus Miller is absolutely friggin' awesome!
My god this is brilliant - love it.
Thanks for posting this.
