It is not fair to say that Apartheid was about cheap labour, in fact it was the opposite. The chief goal behind Apartheid was to create a First World liberal democratic country in Africa of European stock. The other hope was that the indigenous population would develop their own autonomous society (separate development). Unfortunately some, chiefly the British (my kin), were more content to exploit cheap labour without providing full democracy or equality.

That's an established fact as the first "Africans" only started to appear around that time. And they were Xhosa. The Zulu only came 200 years later and the same went for the Herero that plagued the Germans. And they dealt with that threat any self-respecting people would deal with invaders: they slaughtered them.

@african125: I was merely responding to someone who said that Namibia is for black people. I instead said that nobody should be thrown out of Namibia simply for being of a certain race, and pointed out the FACT that Bantu-speaking people (non-Capoid blacks) were not in the area that is Namibia many hundreds of years ago. Instead, the Bushmen were there.
Please tell me where I'm wrong, and where I'm ignorant. QUOTE a sentence I've written and tell me how it's false. Or, be quiet.

I find disturbing when people reference Bantu Speaking as foreigners in Southern Africa,the point is that Africa is one as whole,we did not have boundaries the centuries you referring to when you cite that Bantus were not in Namibia at whatever time.Africa was only divided into those corridors by Europeans,a conference in Berlin,amazingly,out of Africa came a decision to demarcate it,now you people are trying to tell us that we are not Namibian enough

@african125: Part 1 - In fact, my point was that everyone born in Namibia - Bantu-speaking or not, are Namibians. And for those (not you, but the guy I was responding to) who wants all whites out (assuming whites are equal by law to others), I'd just have to say that overlooks all of the immigration to Namibia over time and only singles out one type of people based merely on race. Of course, I also think that further encroachment on the land of the nearly-extinct Bushmen is not a good thing.

@african125: Part 2 - Also, I sort of find it strange that you see Africa as a single entity. Whenever anyone talks about "Africa", I always say, "Don't generalize! Africa is not a single country!" However, it seems you want people to generalize.
In fact, borders (tribal, ethnic, and national) existed before the Europeans came and the Treaty of Berlin existed. Some examples of pre-European countries are the Ghana, Ashanti, Oyo, and Jolof/Wolof Empires and the Kingdom of Benin.

The fact is that Africa is one and the bushmen have been able to move freely from South,East,West or North Africa as did the Bantu.I mean that Bantu and Bushmen are all Namibias,therefore Africans and we don't need Europeans to tell who moved where in our Land.What makes Whites unNamibian is that they came and messed our land up,took everything from us and even ordered the Herero genocide in 1904,an order from Berlin!Bantu and Bushmen been living together in Africa without problems.

Had the white people been Namibian/African enough,they would not do what they did,they did what a thief does,came to destroy and steal for Europe as they always do.Had they just come and settle by humbly requesting the Africans the right to,we would regard them otherwise. Italy has now been asking Africans to leave their town, the word is Africans,not Asians or Americans.I hope you get the point,We have always been Africans and will forever be,how about Europeans in Namibia accepting that fact!

@african125: Part 1 - I think I do get your point. The point I think you're making is not that all whites should get out, but rather that most whites even now think of themselves as above the local population. And I suppose that if, say, another race had dominated my people for centuries and, although I'm free now, members of that other race hadn't sufficiently apologized or tried to blend in or mingle, and still thought of themselves as better, I would resent their presence in my land.

even our government cannot reverse these for they're vulnerable to be labeled as violators of human rights,this is why a man who committed very serious apartheid crimes in Namibia and South Africa is said to be settling in Namibia once released from SA jail cells.its a shame that we lost all and we are can't even express our sentiments about it,we've always been victims and nothing has changed because we've have accepted to protect those who oppressed under the guise of human rights.

@african125: Part 2 - By the way, I'm white and I'm living in Japan now. I'm not a rich businessman, but rather a humble English teacher. As such, and because of the equal terms on which we interact with the locals over here, I think I took it for granted that this situation prevails elsewhere. And I wouldn't like some far-right Japanese party to expel immigrants like me (although there's no chance of that party gaining power). But I realize that unfair relations exist elsewhere in the world.
