born and raised in Rogers Park. east rogers park was really a nice place to live in the 80's for catholic kids like me, but it did turn bad, so my family had to move to west rogers park where it is mainly a Jewish community. i graduated from St. Scholastica.
@luvkalel I lived in Jarvis St by Sheridan- I remember walking to the lake was awesome ..especially the nice weather .... Only problem was the crime because of Aldermans David Orrs free housing policy... They should have opened more businesses around the area and bring different ethnicities that open different businesses.
Rogers Park is not the worst ghetto in Chicago, that's absolutely ridiculous. I've lived there forever, and hello it's no North Lawndale or Englewood.
Whoever said worst ghetto in Chicago, clearly hasn't been there in awhile. I heard it was bad over 5 years ago, but now it's not so bad. There are certainly worse places in Chicago -- and I don't mean that as a competition, but a sad reality. :(
At 1:12 is that St Jerome's? I grew up there! At 1:39, that's the Roumanian Kosher deli, no? That's got to be the only place left that hasn't been torn down and rebuilt. I remember the old "Community" store. Thank you so much for sharing!
I agree that that looks like St. Jeromes. But, it can't be. If that were Morse, looking west at Paulina, the south end of the church would be on the corner. Then the school. Too bad they didn't talk about more of the landmarks, but she is a Realtor.
notice they turned right on jarvis instead of going all the way north to Howard

@gaadoutwat I agree ..people exaggerate so much drama about rogers park ... look at austin nieghborhoods out in the west side.
