  • seeing this promo reminds me of when you could watch quality programs with your family, and not have to hold your breath unlike some of the low quality crap that's on now.

  • I want to watch all these shows and movies now. Why can't we have good tv like this today

  • Very nostalgic

  • Back in the day when everything was cool.

  • Any CBS or NBC Fall Preview Specials?

  • Burt Reynolds looks embalmed!

  • 1:19

Wow, and I always thought Lee J. Cobb was JUST an actor!

  • The Young Lawyers reminds me of the new show ABC will put out this year: The Whole Truth (they must be fans of 3 word court room dramas, remember The Deep End from last year?)

  • the good old days......

  • Was Richard Pryor one of the stars? What happened to The Young Lawyers?

  • you're doing a great service to the internet community. it's years like this that are usually forgotten, but you are providing a time machine that makes it possible to go anywhere. thanks.

  • In The Young Lawyers one of those two black defendants was Richard Pryor!

  • damm i done gone back in the time machine those were the good old dasys

we still had long hair and lot of free love and dope and lots of hipperand afros .. dam and loveins

    im crying

  • This is amazing thank you so much for posting it here, and now i am going to watch part 2..

  • Thanks for posting this! (and pts. 1 and 2).

  • "Make Room For Grandaddy" was full circle for Danny Thomas, since "Make Room For Daddy" first aired on A.B.C., then switched to C.B.S. (and retitled "The Danny Thomas Show") for its fifth season, where it aired until 1964.

  • Who is doing the voice-over?

  • I think it was William Schallert.

  • Anybody else notice the similarities between this and CBS' "Putting it all Together" promo of the same year?

  • Could it be the same ad agency?

  • Assault On The Wayne was a retelling of the classic film "The Caine Mutiny", The Tradition Of Simon Zuniga was the working title for Run, Simon Run. BTW Inger Stevens last appearence.

  • Ironically, "Assautt On The Wayne' was the last film scored by another person named Stevens, in this case, Leith (who died before it was telecast.

  • The movie "Assault On The Wayne" is a retelling of the Herman Wouk classic novel "The Caine Mutiny"

  • "Run Simon Run" is available on D.V.D.. Interestingly, "Assault On The Wayne" was one of the few films (television or theatrical) that Lloyd Haynes was doing while he was starring on "Room 222" (which was beginning its second season on A.B.C.).

  • The working title for "Run Simon Run" was "The Tradition Of Simon Zuniga"

  • Did Wouk ever sue Paramount Television over this reworking of "The Caine Mutiny". After all, he was reportedly never happy with any of the film or television adaptations of his books. He even sued Columbia for putting part of the trial from "The Caine Mutiny" on side 2 of the soundtrack album (which prompted Columbia head Harry Cohn to request R.C.A. to pull it off the market). Ironically, "The Winds Of War" and "War And Rememberance" were coproduced by Paramount Television.

  • I don't think ever did file a law suit ragarding "The Caine Mutiny" retread

  • I know that the clips from The Young Lawyers was from the pilot movie, which had aired a year before, but even then, I thought Richard Pryor would have been a big enough name to not need to accept what looked to be a fairly small part.

NFL football on Monday nights? It'll never work!

  • It aired for over 35 years on the alphabet network. ESPN now airs the series being owned by ABC.

  • Actually, both ABC and ESPN are owned by The Walt Disney Company.

  • The Young Lawyers originally aired on October 28TH, 1969 on the Movie Of The Weeks first season 1969-1970.

  • Jason Evers played Lee J. Cobb's part in the T.V.M. pilot.

  • Looks like it did to me!

  • For the record, the Monday Night Football line was a joke. Trust me, you can't grow up in Dallas and not be fully aware of the importance of MNF.

  • LOL well at least back then half of the NLF wasnt on paroles LOL or were wife beaters.

  • Looking forward to it!

  • LOL funny guy!

  • Great preview of the 1970-1971 season. Movie Of The Week was renewed for a second year.
