seeing this promo reminds me of when you could watch quality programs with your family, and not have to hold your breath unlike some of the low quality crap that's on now.
The Young Lawyers reminds me of the new show ABC will put out this year: The Whole Truth (they must be fans of 3 word court room dramas, remember The Deep End from last year?)
you're doing a great service to the internet community. it's years like this that are usually forgotten, but you are providing a time machine that makes it possible to go anywhere. thanks.
"Make Room For Grandaddy" was full circle for Danny Thomas, since "Make Room For Daddy" first aired on A.B.C., then switched to C.B.S. (and retitled "The Danny Thomas Show") for its fifth season, where it aired until 1964.
Assault On The Wayne was a retelling of the classic film "The Caine Mutiny", The Tradition Of Simon Zuniga was the working title for Run, Simon Run. BTW Inger Stevens last appearence.
"Run Simon Run" is available on D.V.D.. Interestingly, "Assault On The Wayne" was one of the few films (television or theatrical) that Lloyd Haynes was doing while he was starring on "Room 222" (which was beginning its second season on A.B.C.).
Did Wouk ever sue Paramount Television over this reworking of "The Caine Mutiny". After all, he was reportedly never happy with any of the film or television adaptations of his books. He even sued Columbia for putting part of the trial from "The Caine Mutiny" on side 2 of the soundtrack album (which prompted Columbia head Harry Cohn to request R.C.A. to pull it off the market). Ironically, "The Winds Of War" and "War And Rememberance" were coproduced by Paramount Television.
I know that the clips from The Young Lawyers was from the pilot movie, which had aired a year before, but even then, I thought Richard Pryor would have been a big enough name to not need to accept what looked to be a fairly small part.

Ironically, "Assautt On The Wayne' was the last film scored by another person named Stevens, in this case, Leith (who died before it was telecast.

NFL football on Monday nights? It'll never work!

It aired for over 35 years on the alphabet network. ESPN now airs the series being owned by ABC.

Actually, both ABC and ESPN are owned by The Walt Disney Company.

Jason Evers played Lee J. Cobb's part in the T.V.M. pilot.

For the record, the Monday Night Football line was a joke. Trust me, you can't grow up in Dallas and not be fully aware of the importance of MNF.
