My goodness I miss eating pupusas/tamales, I even learnt how to make them. Ex bf's mother taught me, also cooked them for 6 years for my (now ex) husband...oh well one good thing had to come out of those relationships and that was enjoying the salvadorean cuisine. I loved making them with Chicharrón.
@quebonitanina , I agree he doesnt sound like the salvadorean men I have dated that live here in Australia. He sounds lebanese (I know alot of salvadoreans who hang and look like lebanese people these days.
our family mexicanos makes some gorditas that are very similar to pupusas, but they are stuffed after, and dont have the curtido, great video, your pupusas are pretty different from the ones ive had
You know, I thought that all Salvadorians place of destination to live was Los Angeles but you prove me wrong. My mother did tell me that there were a lot of Salvadorians who immigrated to Australia. Cool Accent, lol. It could have been me in Australia too but my parents decided to come to the US instead. Anyway, I really liked your video!
@nubializacion there are heaps here in Australia!! Where I went to primary school, it was mainly salvadoreans and asians (I went to a school where there were alot of people who migrated to Australia and us aussie kids taught them english, good times :D )...this was in the mid 80's so obviously when the civil war had already taken place ..so very sad indeed. My ex bf and also my ex husband saw family killed right in front of them before they managed to escape. :(
i never really knew about pupusas until like maybe 2 years ago...and i haven't had one yet lol, so this video helps a lot! Thank you San Carlos products! :D
I like your cute video. My family is from holland, but on my last trip to l.a. my brother took me to a restaurant just to eat papusas! (go see my video, bet you would like it!) So, yes, you put up this video in 2007, bet you are married now!! =)
Dang this is actually the first time i hear a salvie dude with an australian accent, nice video guys! XD PUPUSAS ALL THE WAY!!!!
Hey loco! I also live in Australia (Sydney) and came to this country 26 years ago; had to learn to make pupusas so basically I eat them at home, for us salvadoreans is a necessity to learn for we really miss this great and traditional food that represents our way of life. Het mate! congratulations for showing the world how to prepare them. By the way, where abouts you live in Australia? if you live interstate you and family are quite welcome to stay at my place. See ya mate!
Its not that, but I guess he lives in Australia, and the accent is alittle different from US Accent. Congrat's Jaime !!! Great videoooo !
Hi, My name is Julia and I was born in Canada and my family is from El Salavador and Honduras. I think that you are so sweet and funny and if you want a wife, I will make you dinner everyday.:)
Im salvadorian and that's not exactly how you make them.I see my granny make them and the ingrediants are suppose to be fresh and not in a can.But they should trun out great anyway.
Wow you really can find anything on the internet. I bought some ready made masa dough at the latino deli by my house and had no clue how to make it into a papusa! Thanks a lot guys, very helpful, un abrazo from Los Angeles!
American mix. Living in Oakland California, pupusas or El Salvadorian restaurants are hard to come by. And if you do decide to eat at one the prices they charge for pupusas will start burning a whole in my pockets. Now that I read this I will never need to go out to spend 2-3$ for pupusas. Now I just need to learn how to make the salsa and slaw for it. Thank you so much.
thats a great way to learn how to prepare them but what about the "Chicharon" how do you prepare that? it be nice if you get back?.....And also where can i get that product here in California havn't seen it yet? please get back thanx. miss "B"
