GO FORD!!!! Our 2003 Explorer XLT saved me and my mom when when we were rear ended by a volkswagen going 25-30MPH. My moms neck was a little sour but i was fine. We were shocked and scared. We got out and walked away.

The car was fine. We drove it home. The long guard piece under the liftgate had snapped of on one side and the bumper had a little dent. After that i felt bad for the car so i cleaned up the garage and now we park the car in there instead of the driveway where it sat everynight in the cold for the past 7 years. It is quite a trooper. Drives like it should and the battery only died on my mom once but she was 5 minutes away from home and she is friends with the machanic near us so he fixed the car

To anyone commenting that the gas hole is on the wrong side:

The gas hole side is a good security features.

The gas hole is away from the traffic if you're running out of gas and need to refuel wit a can.

People have lost they're life because they got hit by a passing Vehicle standing on the side of the road refueling theirs cars.

Ford made an easy and save way to refuel you car on a busy higway.

Yes, absolutely.

It is standard on the limited with "custom" alloy wheels and running boards.

No, the 2003 version did not come as AWD, but 4X4.

So mine just have the "Mustang style" V8 emblem on the back.

Yes, there exist a 2003 AWD, but they are according to ford just late 2002 models.

So they are not real 2003 models, they are just carried over from 2002

why is that reason..

1 - NO two amber yellow taillights on the rear for turning sign..

2 - WRONG gas in hole on the right side and left driver..

3 - BEST suggestion is a V-6 motor and no need it a V-8..

its all about features man. xlt is the cheap version. limited and eddie bauers are very similar. mine comes with a dvd entertainment center also. also mine is only AWD. explorers are very fun snow drifting if you live in the north

Yes XLT is one step up form base XLS so its better Eddie Bauer is after XLT so its even nicer and Eddie Bauer has 2 tone leather Limited well thest just the best of all explorers!!! a V8 is available on all except XLS V6 is standard equipment
