Anyway this was the last decent season of the show and the final one to feature classic writers and producers such as Bill Oakley, Mike Reiss, and Al Jean, as well as lesser-quality eps by Mike Scully. Pretty much the last season before the GARBAGE known as seasons 10 and up clogged the airwaves.
i totally agree about the boxed head set both types are collectors edition if you read theboxes you will find that out. also the heads are made of cheap plastic and look like shit on a shelve especially when paired up with normal boxes. you are right there is no point to making two different styles.

Yes, the season 9 boxset has 25 episodes, but originally a "summer original" called "Lard of the Dance" was considered part of the season. It is now considered the first episode of season 10.
