i have some awsome brook trout spring ponds in northern wisconsin i have a cabin just south of hayward... if you guys are ever in the area i would love to fish with you guys i just started fly fishing trout i am pretty good at pike and bass fly fishing though
@bluemax185 I won't say the exact name of the river. This is an example of a classic northern Wisconsin stream and most get a tannin stained look to the water unlike the streams in the southern half. There are hundreds of miles streams in the northern of half of the state that have the same look and feel. As you get further south, you get into more flat land areas and limestone type trout streams, like in the driftless area of SW Wisco.
@UltimateSurvivalMan Dry flies. Some fish took the dry fly just under the surface film. But the fish were mainly keyed on dries fished on the surface. Thx for the comment. Tight lines!
hey, if ur fishin for rainbow trout stocked in a small pond, lets say theyre about a pound to 2 pounds can u plz reccomend equipment, ( rod, line, leader, fly, etc.)
@MiCx023 The video of the fly you have on your youtube page probably would have worked. In this stretch the fish were feeding aggressively. I bet any size light colored 10 or 12 dry pattern tied like a elk hair caddis would have worked. I think we were using smaller stimulators. We left most of the small stuff in the car so we weren't tempted to take our big streamers off, just couldn't pass on the dry fly action!
